    +Michael Delgomine yeah. It's said that Toyota stopped making the FJ cruiser. Better platform than any modern jeep in my opinion. If I could find a good XJ I would take that too. But in a couple years I won't be able to find one with low enough miles and all that for a daily/adventure vehicle

    If they do, you won't be disappointed mate! I've had mine (1990-model SWB, 5cyl diesel) since new; we've been everywhere together - through every terrain Australia can throw at ya - and she still runs like a dream, on road or off. (And, call me old fashioned, but I LOVE the vinyl upholstery that you can clean _easily_ ~ taking me from my muddy work-boots, two inches of outback dust, and a load of firewood, to a nice evening-gown and wedding-presents, with just the flick of a rag and some Meguiar's). They supposedly wear-out ... eventually ... but I'll believe it when I see it!

    @@Loribyn mate I'm pretty sure you'll wear out before it will. The only problem with cruisers is that you never get to buy a new car again once you've bought one ;P

  • @Loribyn

    @Loribyn

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@HartyBiker Ha! I'm pretty sure you're right mate! But I'm not worried, because in a lot of ways, she still looks, and runs, like new -- given the kays, you wouldn't believe the condition of the duco, for just one example -- still polishes and waxes to a mirror-shine; or the afore-mentioned vinyl (given the work it's done, I am frankly amazed at the condition of both); and while she's up for a major service - 300,000km - I'm still getting almost 800 kays to the tank; and with my iPod docked, some Acca Dacca blasting, and a bush road to call my own, I'm happy with the ancient speakers too ... in short, I'm not complaining! But I admit, I do need to get under the bonnet with some degreaser; and right now she badly needs a bath -- that red outback dust is gettin' a bit thick! Now all I need is some water I can spare....
