I still have my 79 k 20 it came with a 400 engine and a 400 transmission and a 203 transfer case with a 14 bolt rear axle and Dana 60 in the front, gotta love the square body Chevy 👍
another thing that will help the front is one taking apart your front leaf springs and minus the small leaf at the bottom of the leaf pack. You will get better suspension movement and it will sit about 3/4 of an inch lower and help your driveline angle as well.
what you can do about your drive shaft angle is lower your transmission bracket by one inch with a spacer. You just find metal one inch thick and drill holes in it then use larger bolts and bolt it back together. Your output will be one inch lower and will ease up your angle a lil bit
Great truck man, love old trucks and how simple they are, yea new trucks are cool but i want a squarebody!

I hate new trucks, I wouldn't drive anything newer than a 2nd gen dodge. Newest Chevy I'd have is a 87, and I wouldn't own a ford at all.
I have a 1979 K20 regular cab that I bought new in 79, it has 30,000 miles on it. Two tone red and black. Silverado package absolutely mint, no rust. Factory original 400 cubic inch small block. My son loves it, so do I

You are wrong on the availability of the 400 cubic inch engine. I have a 79 that I bought brand new and it has the 400 engine from the factory

Nice ! Just got done putting my leafs on today doing a frame off restore for 77 k20
Hey man I’d love to see more of this truck!!
Great video thanks for posting
The ones in California have no rust but all of the rubber and plastic disintegrates in the heat
Looks great bro, the wheel/tire combo & the height are perfect to me. Thinking forward LS-2 with a 4L80E, ooooooohh. \m/
Small block Chevy will be perfect
I got a 73 Cheyenne k20. Love it. 350 cammed
Custom Deluxe was the bottom trim level. Scottsdale next up then Cheyen then Silverado
Hell yeah I subscribed

I love the long beds lifted too! And like exterior wrap?
I have an 85 k20 supposed to be a Scottsdale has been mostly gutted so I'm replacing the window cranks and looking for a big block to put in since the dumb kid before me put a 305 in her.
Nice truck I have an 86 k10 I daily it Wouldn't sell it. They def don't make them like these anymore
Is exactly what I am doing to my 79 Custom Deluxe C20 converting to a K20, with the 465 4 speed also building a 454 FI
You sure as hell will be glad that is an auto. when you go to retail it out to sell!!!!! Four-speeds generally bring 2K-4K less than auto.'s. Mainly 'cause they are more driveable and user-friendly(wife & all) you get the picture. She ain't a bad rig, FOR A SQUAREBODY !!!!!!! You can tell I am a bit prejudice !!!!!!!!! I've bought, sold, and body-off-frame restored over 400 '67-'72 Chevy/GMC 4x4's since 1979. Sort of dig Chevy trucks --can ya tell?????? Jim
how tall is this truck? could you measure it? could you also measure the height of the bed panel, from the outside?
Do still have this truck? I don't see anymore videos
Sticky lifters run some marvel mystery oil or half quart trans fluid for 100 miles then change oil ,also something is eating that front tire ,justsayn.

Looks good but you need a fan shroud

Or an electric fan setup would be nice haha but yeah I could use a shroud. Hasn't overheated yet this summer tho

You really don't need one, just watch your fingers lol
I think that a cummins engine would be way to heavy for this platform and it would handle like garbage. What you really want is a 383 stroker !!!
I found it amusing when he said k20 and then re affirmed it's a 4x4 lol k series are 4x4 c series are red

@@krewpunk I do have videos but not On KZread. . It took me 10 years to restore it. It’s by no means a show truck. However I did tear it all the way down and every nut and bolt was cleaned or repainted or replaced. I’m thinking of here in a few months of shooting a video of where it is now. And combining all the pictures I took over the last decade. So I can answer all the questions for everybody who is in the middle of their project.

That’s a 6” lift for sure. Take the wheel spacers off. They look stupid.

I bought it like that because those are ford wheels....so I've been waiting to get new wheels and tires. No need to be so negative
