Ive been watching car programs all my life. Speedvision, motor weekly, overhaulin, pinks stuff like that. Hoonigan seems to understand the car guy. Its not overproduced and if the subject matter is not your usual fair its still interesting. All this done on youtube not some major channel. Its really impressive what you guys got going here no bullshit.

Thehoonigans If you guys ever have a engine issue with that ultra, gimme a shout. Pround son of a 30+ year polaris tech. Thumbs up, so the guys never have a problem with this bad chicken!!!

Love this build! A thing to watch out for is the powerband with the cvt and the exhaust. Making the runner to the expansion chamber longer will change the motor's power band. CVT is engineered to keep the motor a set rpm where the most torque is. This is done with the spring. Maybe getting and expert to tune the cvt to the engine will give the best result. Maybe it's a bit to much and over the top, but for giving it a good hookup/low end torque the right tuning is essential.

Any additional pipe before the expansion chamber will lower the bottom end power on that bad girl, I bet it rips regardless. Just 2 stroke stuff

You can't change the header length on an expansion chamber without effecting the performance aka powerband.

Yeah, I bought a "torque ring" exhaust gasket which was like 1/2 inch instead of 1/8 inch and I actually noticed a little more torque and a little less top end

Yah, and risk a lean condition and destroy the engine straightaway or foul plugs over and over. Same with modifying the airbox. And jetting 3 carbs has to be APITA.

Make sure you guys order about 5 belts just to have on hand ...

Fyi, you can also use a tensioner pulley to if you had mounted the motor to the frame. I did it both ways on two of my golf carts. One with a 340 artic cat motor and the other with a john deere 400 sir. I love your work. Thanks for sharing!

Guyz the expansion chamber is supposed to work with sound resonance. When the piston is traveling up after admission it might throw unspent mixture out of the exhaust. That's where that chamber comes it. The sound wave hits at the perfect time to stop that from happening. That's why you can't modify it in any way. Just take it out completely and put a nice big pipe it. You might even see flames out of the exhaust!

I noticed that the golf kart has a CVT system in it. I didn't know that golf karts utilized CVT systems. the one's that I've worked on didn't have CVT systems in them. that's something I'm going to have to remember when searching for a rear axle assembly no doubt.

Imagine an office job where instead of sitting down to get shouted at by some angry customers; you walk in to the office, get shouted at by the hype man, do some mad skids, then rip a fucking snowmobile to shreds. Hoonigan everyone. Be jealous because you should be.

Also your clutch springs and weights determin rpm enguagment. I had that sled back in 96, they were beasts. Propper jetting and keeping that thing cool is your biggest hurtle imo. Thing is going to rip!

Love this project. Reminds me of our John Deere 210 that we put a Kawasaki 440 snowmobile engine on. Was extremely fun in the winter but would over heat fast in summer, hopefully yours is water cooled. Probably gonna get hot as hell running in LA, most of them are aircooled off snow.

brad, can you change the snowmobile heat exchanger in the track tunnel to a typical radiator? i know heats a issue with non air cooled sled motors, very cool build, love the t-bucket too
