Hi Alex I would just squirt a little squirt of that perfume tomorrow after the smells get out of your house and the smells get out of your nose a day later I've never heard of the perfume before. I have a problem with perfumes I get nauseous headaches really quickly if they have some scent in it and I have never come across and it's only women's perfume men's cologne I can smell all them all day long I could wear them all day long.

Shiseido is a higher end Asian skincare brand, and their products are great for your skin, lots of good ingredients without lots of extra stuff you don't need. Same for Sulwhasoo. Before I forget, thank you for recording so many videos before your wedding. I'm sure we all would have understood a bit of radio silence. The doggie advent calendar openings at the end are always a nice pallet cleanser from the items that come before it

It's very interesting that they're putting added value on the samples. Theoretically, at least here in the UK, if something is a sample and/or marked 'Not for Sale (separately)' then it actually has no individual sale value. I know some places do sell 'miniatures', which is fine, but if they're 'samples' and not for sale separately then the calender only has a value of exactly what they sell it for and no more. If that makes sense. 🖤

some brands sell their sample sizes here in the US, although I'm not sure if they're marked as "samples" or "miniatures". for us the "not for sale separately" usually means that the safety information is not included, so it must be sold as part of a larger set which does include the ingredients (or best buy date or whatever else)

Sort of sample size either way, but was that Bulgari perfume sample or travel size? It looked relatively large compared to the usual samples. Here in the UK the smallest available size is 50 ml, for £140/$165.

@@nerdygoth6905 It was probably a 'deluxe sample', something we don't really see much of here in the UK, but they're still distributed freely but usually to more elite clients rather than us plebs. 😂 That said, I have been sent two designer luxury fragrances recently in 2ml sprayers. Both were free and posted to me - department stores give them out too. If you try to buy them they can be up to £10 or more when they're the 'sale samples' and not the free ones. Fragrances are a crazy business and the margin is OBSCENE in most cases.

Being a frag head, I wasn't expecting so many perfume samples in a single advent calendar that were popular scents (plus the discovery sets and niche houses at that). I was happy to see a delina set but realized really quick that she wouldn't like those at all. Eitherway, was so excited to see Alexandria review them. It's like a cute little crossover of unboxing and frag yt spaces.

The Baccarat Rouge 540 is 1000 percent worth that calendar because that size you received basically paid for a quarter to half your calendar. lol its the most addicting yummy luscious smell I've ever smelled! It's amazing! If you want to try almost an exact dupe, Dossier fragrances has one, and then sol de Janeiro makes a pink body cream that smells just like it! Love your videos!

i had a very fancy lady name my perfume as the baccarat rouge one a while back. she walked by and almost verbatim says ‘i like your perfume it’s baccarat rouge’ and me a target employee that had never heard of that awkwardly chuckled and said ha ha thank you yes and walked away. it was not said $350 perfume. it was ariana grande cloud. so maybe a dupe idk i have not smelled said extremely expensive perfume so i cannot confirm 100%

I've smelled cloud, her, the alt version, and in the stars used to be the only thing I wore before I discovered baccarat. I can 100% confirm that there is no replacement for the real thing unfortunately for my wallet 😞

I can't tell for everything, but the full size la prairie eye cream alone is 525$... so yeah I think this calendar is worth it. Also, I'm a french canadian and I love it when you try to say the name of the french brands :)

Edit: as someone who LOVES expensive perfume this box actually seems amazing to me! Also, Cloud by Ariana Grande is surprisingly a really great dupe for the Bacaraat Rouge As a textured curly haired girl I gasped when you said you hate your hair silky smooth! I spend most of my time trying to get my hair silky smooth. So interesting how we tend to want what we don’t have

Ariana grande cloud is definitely a dupe. Cloud has a marshmallow tone more than baccarat as baccarat has the amber tone to it. I own both an I can definitely vouge that it’s a great dupe!

I don't think the Cloud perfume smells like Baccarat Rouge. It smells totally different for me. The better dupe is the Zara Red Temptation Winter. It's almost identical in its notes. I had both on on my wrists and we blindly smelled it. We couldn't decide, which was which. It only became apparent after a couple hours of wear time, because Baccarat has a better silage.

La Prairie is as pricey as La Mer! Good stuff. That teeny jar is worth about $50!

@@nicolenoel1448 definitely agree with this however also fun fact! Most of the more luxury brands also own your cheaper drugstore make up brands as well and are often made in the same factories! So there's definitely a difference in the ingredients but it's usually the same umbrella company running these brands and are often just trying to hit as many different socio-economic demographics as possible.

When she pulled the Delina perfume I screamed “It’s all rose scents!”

French person here! Clé de peau is pronounced cleh de (like how americans pronounce deux) poh (but a short 'oh', almost like the o in hold). I'm sure you don't care and it's not a big deal, but I've watched you struggle with the name of this brand last advent season too haha. It actually translates to "key of skin" literally.

The panicked squeal and “I MISSED!” while she was trying to only try a little bit of perfume really spoke to me personally. 💕

I’m also a collector and hoarder, and I love baccarat but I’ve only owned one bottle of it and I used it up within a couple months😂 an now I know better if I ever get a new bottle I will conserve. If you want a dupe, Ariana grande cloud is very similar. I’ve never had a problem with longevity an projection with the baccarat. It’s always lasted on my skin like no other. I also had the hair perfume too lol

I’ve found Alt fragrances they have similar scents to the real thing and I really enjoy many of the fragrances they have including their version of baccarat. Might not be an exact match, but my budget just can’t justify the real thing oven if it’s way better.

I laughed hideously loud so many times. I had to keep pausing the video and explaining to my family that I wasn't actually losing my mind. Advent calendar season is helping me live my best life.

I work in the perfume department and I’ve learned that after smelling about 5-6 different perfumes your brain cannot smell anymore 😂 try coffee beans in between 😊

Baccarat rouge is stunning. Your nose can go anosmic with this fragrance so because you sprayed all the other perfumes you might not be able to smell it but I promise you .... Try it on another day, ON SKIN, and you will understand the magic as you where it. Even when you can't smell it, other people will be able to.

That clinique moisturizer is so gentle, I use it on sunburns and it calms my skin, reduces the redness and stops the peeling. Not that it's sunburn season but not likely to cause breakouts. Edit: Yankee candle used to do tiny jars of coffee beans to "cleanse the palate" and I still sniff whatever coffee is in the house when I need a reset. Love advent calendar season!

I don’t know if anyone has commented this yet, but next time you have many perfumes to smell, have a jar of coffee beans with you! Smelling the beans in between each perfume cleans the pallet so you’ll be able to smell everything 😄 it’s like eating a piece of ginger in between pieces of sushi! In my home town a local department store has jars of coffee beans at the perfume section, that’s where I learned it from.

nah some of these products are ridiculously expensive to manufacture and therefore are expensive. 240$ is a steal for this much of that stuff, especially those days where you get two products

A half oz of that Estee Lauder Ultimate Diamond eye cream is like $290 and tge La Prairie is $415 for .65oz, so little quantities can still be extremely expensive. Of course, value is in the eye of the beholder. I don't care what it is, I'm not paying that much for any face product!

Girl, the creed perfumes!!! They're sooo expensive and got for like $500/$600 a bottle!! Definitely great value here

A good tip for when smelling multiple perfumes is to smell coffee beans before smelling the new scent.

so psyched about the return of advent calendar season! "Ambergris" is a product included in some expensive perfumes made from whale fat. As whale hunting is illegal in most countries it is a very controversial ingredient and I personally, although I do not claim to be "cruelty-free" as it were, I avoid products made from or including ambergris as it is particularly cruel, imo.

Ambergris is bizarrely, actually a waste product from the digestive system of Sperm whales 🐋 They vomit it up and it is usually found washed up on beaches and is, by weight, more valuable than gold.

Lost of companies have fragrances like baccarat though it’s probably the most replicated and places like Alt fragrances use a synthetic ambergris so it’s also less expensive than the real thing

I'm pretty sure no perfume makers actually use real ambergris as it's illegal in several countries including the US (but not France, the UK and Switzerland) there's a synthetic version called ambroxide now, I can't speak for the insanely fancy companies tho (aka the ones who still use real fur, etc 😑) but I'd assume anything labeled ambergris found in perfumes these days is synthetic. Also ambergris isn't harvested from whales as it's essentially a type of poo, but trade of it is banned under the blanket ban on whaling in general.

@@onerva. yeah the expensive perfumes use it like I said in my post. I think it’s a little “Billy went the the farm” kind of feel good thinking to imagine that ambergris is actually harvested harmlessly from beaches when it’s cheaper and faster to hunt and kill whales for it. That’s kinda the whole thing with the whales. And the laws and all. So it’s pretty easy to avoid but also it would be pretty easy for the French perfume companies not to use it and actually they still do and it is real unfortunately even though it doesn’t have to be. :)

@@baileydavenport744 oh I genuinely had no idea it could be taken directly out of the whale as well, I thought it had to pass as a complete, well, turd... so I stand corrected on that one. just awful, imagine calling yourself a luxury brand meanwhile you're out there killing animals for their gut content or various body parts, make it make sense 💀

I’d love if you did the Revolution calendars again! They have some pretty crazy make up ones, like a game of thrones themed one, for seemingly no apparent reason 🤣

They did a collab, part of which is a red dragon egg shaped beauty blender with an Iron Throne stand. I haven't watched GoT and barely use my beauty blenders but when I saw that I had to buy it, because I knew it'd make me smile whenever I saw it.

When you start watching a video 43 seconds after it has been posted 😂. You are the best.

Samples hold $0 worth of value. They are given away for free. It does not matter how much the product inside of them is worth. Because as long as it’s in a sample it is giving away for free and therefore has no actual value. Companies need to stop thinking that the things they give away for free have value, they don’t. You cannot charge me something for something that you give away to literally everyone else. That’s just not how shit works. This stuff really has to stop. We have to stop allowing them to claim that the product inside of the sample is the same value as the product inside of the full-size bottle. It is not. It has never been.

Sniffing coffee beans between perfumes helps you smell each scent better. I think the beans help reset your sense of smell.
