I would really love to see a video detailing the before and after of every level crossing removal so far, I'm sure it would be a very long video but 75 is a huge achievement, and being able to clearly show people the difference with a before and after would be a fantastic tool :)

The Bedford Road level crossing in Ringwood is gone for good. But it will be cool to see when the level crossings at McGregor Road, Main Street And Racecourse Road in Pakenham are removed and when the new skyrail Pakenham Station and the new terminus East Pakenham Station are both open to the public later on in the year.

75 level crossings removed is good work for Melbourne only 35 remaining, not much chance of level crossings causing traffic congestion now. Melbourne is no longer car dependent with the metro upgrade too, better transport functionality makes life easier for everyone ✌️❤️🇬🇧

The Metro Tunnel is on track to be completed by 2025 and it will have the Sunbury, Cranbourne and Pakenham lines running through it. Also it will have direct airport connection via the Melbourne Airport Rail Link by 2029. There is also the Suburban Rail Loop which is a 90 km rail line from Cheltenham to Werribee via Melbourne Airport. It’s still 3 decades away from completion, but half of it from Cheltenham to Melbourne Airport will be underground with SRL driverless trains.

Airport Rail Link may not be finished in time for 2029 but it could have the green light soon

All good to replace level crossings but you put signal pedestrian crossings there instead of an over or under pass so no benefit to traffic flow
