ANENG AN870 Auto Range Digital Precision Multimeter 19999 Counts True-RMS NCV
I bought this for fun. I recommend the UNI-T 61E over this one.

I also bought a red and green one. These units are a nice upgrade from the AN8009 for only 15% more spend, although it’s much larger.

Was hoping to see other test like current, led diode test and continuity just to see how it performs even if it's not latched. A teardown with a peek of the internals would have been nice to see. Especially to get an idea of safety and input protection. Pretty sure the CAT rating printed in front is bs though. Another note, think this has been rebranded under Richmeters RM219 and Zotek ZT219.

This was my first meter though I mainly use my Uni-t ut139s and my ut61e+ now. I’d always recommend the an870 as a first meter purely for the value for money. I used to use the temperature probe before I got a proper thermal camera. I think it’s amazing value and I’m still at a point where 3μA or a couple of Ω out isn’t critical for me.

I bought my AN870 from AliExpress last year, before it hit the fan, for US$30. Working with a Circuitmate DM10 and a 30yo Goerz/Metrawatt for as many years, it's a huge step up for me. :D

My main reason to get this is because all the meters I have, none have an audible continuity tester. This may not be latching, but it's still a step up for me! lol

At this multimeter, when measuring resistance, readings "float". The last digit changes. The display is not stable.

Interesting comparison of meters, did you try the drop test at 1 meter? BTW, 1.8 C +32=F or 9/5 C + 32 = F. Quick mental conversion formulas that worked for me.

What did you mean when you said it’s not latched so it’s not good for measuring continuity?

it will work, it is just not a premium meter. the latch keeps the beep on for a few milliseconds to give a solid beep. non-latched will be scratchy and low volume. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fnd6p9GngafRgbg.html

Bought the AN870 approx. one and a half year ago at AliExpress. Only used it for some low voltage measurements. It failed approx. after approx. one year. Complained about it: No warranty, no service, nothing…. It was just garbage, a waste of money. This was definitely my first and my last Aneng!! ☹

Count is the most digits that can be displayed. so 19999 can display 1.2345 a 6000 count meter could only display 1.234. now if you measured 5.1234 volts, the 19999 can only display 5.123 since the first digit can only display 0 or 1. the 6000 count meter would display 5.123 also.
