I have like 5 of this brand of meters and really like them ! I cam from Kiss Analog's site :P You know what's crazy ? the ZT301 meters were 28$ each now they are 149$ each !!! Glad i picked 4 of mine up for cheap ! Good Video BTW !

149$? Aneng store on aliexpres sell it for 20$, with some sale promotion probably under 20$, so even 28$ isnt good price.

I really liked your review and wanted to ask three follow-up questions. (1) In the comments you mentioned that you estimate the battery life to be 50-100h. Have you got any new data on this by any chance? I've heard that it's a real power hog. (2) Do you think that this orange TPE material will become sticky over time? Some rubberized surfaces suffer from this and need to be removed... (3) Which one of the two would you say is better, HT118A or Q10, and why? I watched your HT118A review as well. I'm kinda partial to the Q10 because it has a higher resolution (9999 vs 6000) and a setting for a square-ish wave out. On the other hand, HT118A only uses two AA batteries (and screen looks less power hungry too). Also, I thought that HT118A might be a little more accurate, but now I'm not so sure. Many thanks.

1 - Any device with an EBTN display that bright is going to be a power hog. I haven't had to recharge the batteries in mine yet but I don't use the Q10 day in and day out. I have pulled it out here and there in other videos and it's always ran - so it doesn't appear to have any kind of parasitic discharge. Most of the time I'm just using my bench meter for obvious reasons. Your best bet there is to just use Eneloop rechargables in it. 2 - If exposed to extreme heat/humidity constantly I would say it could be possible but if it stays in a climate controlled environment most of the time I would guess the orange TPE shouldn't become a problem. 3- The HT118A is definitely the more accurate meter when it comes to voltage - as a matter of fact my Q10 almost brings up the rear when it comes to voltage accuracy - but I wouldn't call it unusuable by any means and we're not talking about a huge difference in voltage accuracy either. Otherwise I would say they are pretty much on the same playing field. The HT118A is definitely going to be a better choice if battery power is a concern. The HT118A also has better input protection (albeit not much). If you are after sheer accuracy and count resolution in a cheap meter - I would personally recommend the UNI-T UT39E+ over either the HT118A or Q10 but it also comes with its own disadvantages (mainly the capacitance range is somewhat limited). It's hard to go wrong with any of these three meters, however.

hello, i have a couple of question. 1. does it auto-OFF even if you're currently using the meter? or it will only auto-OFF when idle like Flukes? 2. how does the battery fare? i have aneng meter but the battery usage sucks.. even the energizer wont last me a month without low bat warning..

1. You can disable the auto-off in Aneng Q10 by holding down the SELECT button when powering it up and it will stay on until you turn it off. It will beep 5 times confirming you have disabled the auto-off. 2. Battery life will be shorter than average because it is an always-on EBTN display. I would guess the battery lasts for around 50-100 hours of use, but this is just a guess (so far I have not had to recharge the batteries in mine). I can say for 100% certain that you will not get 400 hours out of the battery with this kind of display. You would be best served using rechargeable batteries for this meter so you don't have to constantly replace alkalines.

@@Sui778 hey there, what kinda batteries do you use? I'm kinda tempted since the damn Q1 doesn't really work with 1,2V and I don't wanna get 1,5V rechargables.

Makes no difference, really. They are the same exact unit - just with different color silk screening on the faces of the units. Pick whatever color scheme suits you better.

Quick question, what Probe Master leads are you using? 8017s or 8013s?

Perhaps. You might want to take a look at the UNI-T UT39E+ review - same kind of meter with a much higher count resolution.

I would go with the Q10 assuming you're just on an electronics bench and not in need of better protection for high voltage work. The Q10 is also true RMS, and the 17B+ is an averaging meter, so your AC voltage readings will be off by roughly 11% on the 17B+. I honestly haven't been that impressed with my 17B+ overall - it's performance has been a bit lackluster. That also why I don't feature it much on the channel.

The RM409B just looks like a rebranded Q1 to me - I'd probably go with the Q10 honestly - I'm not a big fan of auto-mode meters.

I alredy ordered but it looks like it takes really long to settle on a value wich i dont like

I've found that most of these cheaper meters take a bit to settle on certain things.
