    The fireworks video was excellent. I've watched years of professionally shot July 4th celebrations that can't compare to what you did - clear crisp focus and good color representation! Very nice!

    Kika always looks pretty but that last white outfit that she was wearing amongst the fireworks helped to show just how stunning she is. She looks so fit, I wonder if she was once involved with gymnastics. Both Kika and Dan are a fine looking couple but more importantly these videos show how good they are on the inside and how intelligent and inventive they are along with gobs of self motivation. Yeah, I find them to be an exceptional couple.....

    Good test of the hurricane anchor?

  • @SailingUma

    @SailingUma

    Nope. That was just with our 55# Rocna. We hadn't set up our hurricane anchor yet. Would't have had time to deploy it anyway. That was SUPPOSED to be just a normal thunderstorm. But 60kt winds are what our Rocna is rated for. It didn't drag and inch at 5:1. We're impressed. The Mantus is for when $h!t really hits the fan.

    Watching the dinghy bounce really makes me think having a set of davits is a good idea. Really lucky you didn't lose your dinghy or your motor.

  • @SailingUma

    @SailingUma

    No, our boat doesn't have the space for davits and we don't like the cluttered look they bring. Dory did just fine, she's seen worse.

    Wow. That squall looked gnarly! How long did it last? Rode one like that at anchor the Bahamas blasted 55 at peak gusts and it lasted 50 minutes. Kinda scary. Makes you really love your ground tackle huh?

    Dan, it's obvious from watching your videos that you are as expert as can be when it comes to boat repairs, I talent that you can always employee to make money do odd job to get you from Island to Island. I was wondering if you plan on laying up for the hurricaine season and if you would consider helping me with my boat as a way of funding your UMA project? I'm sure there are lots of people out there that would want the same.....but I asked first!!! LOL! Let me know your thoughts. It's hard finding people who want to work up here in New England aside from Boat Yards which I can't afford. My project isn't as extensive as yours and I have made some progress but it's been a year already. Oh...how satisfied are you with your copper bottom paint job now that you've been sailing a while? I was thinking about doing the same thing. Good sailing and God Bless you both! Bill

    Storm came to fast to take it off. It was only supposed to be 30kts like all the other storms that hit us that week. But this one hit much harder and very fast. We didn't even have time to let out more scope.
