70000 'BRITANNIA' HEADS SOUTH On The WCML-(24/05/2024):
Always a risky business filming across quad tracks on the West Coast Main Line but thankfully I got away with it at Polesworth near Tamworth in Staffordshire.
70000 (with Class 47 D1935 on rear) was running some 17 minutes early on this ECS move (5Z70) from her home base at LSL Crewe to Southall.
She is then booked to work the 'Steam Dreams' tour from Windsor to Norwich on Tuesday 28th May

Indeed Bob, it was just prior to her shutting off for a water stop at Atherstone. I could have tried to overtake for a second shot but wanted to stay for those freight shots. Regards, Brian.
