Mater came alive and it will live way longer. U guys are treating the truck very good
That 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 I believe is the hour of the 8 hour work day that the trams was casted. So the 3rd hour it was made.

Sorry guys. The arrow pointing to the 3 indicates which die that part was cast in. There were 8 total. This is so if any part is was bad or malformed, there would be no mystery as to which mould had the defect & all parts from that mould can be pulled from production. Every die cast & die cut machine use some form of manufacturing indicators like this.
You should rebuild the old flat head 6 and sell it it might be worth a few bucks
This is all I need, I'm a mechanic so this video is so fun to watch❤️
Your videos are awesome. They encouraged me to start fixing up my great grandpa’s 1965 chevy c60 with a hydraulic flat bed that can be converted into a dump bed
Genuinely my favorite chanel on KZread. So many mint projects going on.

The most beautiful truck I ever seen good choice for a build.
Badass man, love the determination and those guys seem real helpful and knowledgeable
Driving out the shop will be exciting but even just haring this jem in the truck will be awesome to . ... so inspirational awesome content
Man I love your channel and all your videos, I’m very busy but when I get spare time the first thing I do is go to your channel
I have a 1946 dodge PW. 12 years ago i replaced the worn out 10 times 230 flat 6 with a 4bt. lots of work with engine mounts and brakes. It has never overheated using the original radiator with out a fan in Texas. pulls good has a spicer trans (5 speed) cruses 65 with ease. 25 mpg if your behavin'
I’m very glad u picked the Cummins motor cause it’s way more superior then any other heavy truck diesel manufacturers even CAT in my opinion!
The mastercylinder. Part number is number 1 for that truck. Echiin from NAPA
It's coming along good the motor looks sharp
Can't wait to see how many scratches are on the fenders

You guys are having soo much fun...!
Hello, I have a 1951 dodge kinway and it uses the same engine that is getting out of the truck, it is the quietest engine I know, it turns on one and it feels like it generates its force from one !!
A 2-in body lift would help you tremendously and gaining clearance that you need. You can make your own lift kit without a lot of trouble.
3:12 is an excellent shot of how you can hand crank the engine, and it pushes the hand crank back, after rotation...
I don't wish to be negative, but if you love the old engine, why are you removing it?
Excellent job on new motor also installed happening too and enjoy videos on Mater!

Doing big things brotha. Channel is awesome
a power rack and pinion from a 2005 sebring would be about perfect, I've got one sitting in my garage.
Getting ready to start working on my dad's 1951 Dodge B-3B 1/2 ton pickup, and been stymied trying to find resources on these trucks. Thanks for your work here! Do you have a full spec/build sheet for everything you had to do to make that 4BTAA work? That's exactly what I'm looking to do to my dad's. Thanks again, and great work!
That is going to be one tuff truck. Looking good.
You should put air conditioning in the truck air ride expansion in the truck and you should make a four-wheel-drive that would be nice good video keep up the good work can’t wait to see you next one😁
Hi have you had time to fit the engine? is there another videos of this truck being swapped for 4bt as I am intrested as I want to do the same on my dodge
What kinda exhaust you thinkin bout running?? Dual Stacks be kinda cool loving the builds and videos you and the guys put out great stuff man keep up the great work!!!
I hope everyone has had a good day
Save the exhaust and make a stack for “ Mater”.
I cant wait for that engine to crank for the first time
Ole mater is going to be badass cant wait to hear
Very cool. I really enjoy your videos. Was curious what are you going to do with the old engine?
I thought that you were going to rebuild the original motor. And keep the truck original as could be. I personally think that would have been way better. But I really do like what you have done to the rest of the truck great job.
Love this build

Great bro . Best of luck 🌹
Cool build
I had a 55 dodge fun truck mine was a 8 volt. Why not do the drivetrain first?
That mark on the trans are casting marks probably a batch number
I just bought a 48 B1f that I'm going to put a 6bt in. Have you checked the rear gear ratio yet? Mine is 6.285 to 1 which even with a .78 OD transmission will only cruise 49mph at 2200 if my memory is correct.
what shape is the exhaust manifold in off the flat head motor???? I might be interested in getting it!!!!!
where did you get your motor from with that air compressor option, and what did the motor cost?
We are putting one in my 52' Dodge
Yoooo I’m actually from Selma Alabama & this fucking truck just motivates me so much mane‼️ Mator is about to be a bad man.
What transmission are you going to use?
Handcranck coupling on the pulley in front?

i just wish the 4BT engines from big bear werent so expensive.
You need to put the defender and dippin diesels maverick on the the gooseneck and then pull it with mater
Any UPDATES ? I'm going with a DD in my 49!
Leave that bracket on the back its a perfect step to get on the back lol. Weld a nice step with some grip on it
Do you think a 12 value would fit with out cutting the fire wall?
The 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8 mean for sure when the tran was built and how long it took to build it so it was on 3 it took them 3 hours to. Build it so if u ever have to rebuild it. It is basically letting you know how long it could take me my self I rebuild it less then 3 hours but u r doing an awesome job on matter bud keep it up the Cummins is an awesome idea they r good motors iv rebuild plenty of them
I been thinking about doing hx35 on mine
what are you going to do with the gas engine you took out?
What are you doing for steering? Is there a power steering gear box upgrade? Are you going rack and pinion? This isn’t the exact same as what you have, but I recently converted a 1961 gmc truck to a power steering gear box and the gear box destroyed our custom fabricated brackets. Instead of fighting safety issue I went ahead and replaced the gear box with a rack and pinion from POL. The GMC has independent from suspension and I’m guessing Mater is a straight axle. Anyways good video and I look forward to the build.
Hey bud u can get a bigger fluid dampener to help that rattle and vibration
Oh yeah , I too see an electric fan in maters future . Most likely a radiator / electric fan combo . Probably a puller fan on the engine bay size . A pusher fan on the grille side may not work out ? As far as vibration , the folks in Colorado ought to be helpful in helping to choose a flywheel that may help dampen vibration . They’ll know better . Won’t be long , mater will be bleaching up in front the house ! Some editing required to wait for the smoke to clear ! Good times ahead 👍
There’s room for a 5.9. Just have to get creative with the welder and saws-all. Putting one in a 51 Chev and put one in a 49 Ford
What are you doing with the old engine? There are some guys that would love to have it!
this is exciting
i seen that hit coming from a mile away i just knew he was gonna hit the fender
You can get front mount oil pan. That mod will save you lots of time

Maybe the 3 means like the age of the truck? Or like the yr the truck was made like for example 1903
Is that a Air pump or a Vacuum pump?

@@ParoDoXz your welcome can you do daily videos
that is a casting stamp
If it wasn’t clear before , it’s clear now . The trucks engine bay wasn’t designed big enough for a Cummins 6BT in line . In 1951 , that engine didn’t exist . They built them with what they had , gas engines . Diesels were only used in semi’s then . Cummins engines then were way too big to even think about a swap into a truck this size . The 4BT was the logical choice for this swap . A 6BT would require a firewall modification of which would have Mater laid up in the new shop much longer . But you guys are totally motivated so I wouldn’t put it passed you guys to actually do it . I know everyone is asking what transmission will take the torque of the 4BT now that it’s going in . Well , we will all have to stay tuned . I don’t know , maybe a top loader 5 speed and even a Dana 70 re. - geared but we will wait and see . It’s a work in progress , looking forward to your build . It’s been commented already , but yeah , the stamp on the transmission front face is a fancy date code . Lots of parts through the years had stamps similar to that but that one is really cool with the engineering symbol which spells quality and pride . You don’t see that on foreign parts . Just little stamping numbers , letters and indecipherable symbols . Good luck guys and be safe !

Thanks! I was asking why it wasn't the 6bt.
Originality of the engine was gone. I like the old one it's very powerful... You have to do is to make a good maintenance. ..
You should put a 18 wheeler stacks on it
I would have gone with the new V6 diesel that dodge has in the 1500 series trucks
