As a 23 year old Brit, I can't remember the world trade centre at the time of the event, but watching it now gives me chills. What I really didn't realise was how it struck a chord with so many Americans - in fact, the fact that is so prevalent an answer in this video just shows what America went through as a nation in those days. The nation and its people have been scarred by that event. Such unity really give me shivers.

Some of these people witnessed the moon landing, and events like the Cuban missile crisis (which could have easily lead to the end of civilisation), but chose 9/11? I don’t think they explained the question very well, it was meant to be important historical events, not events that impacted their lives most

He's, obviously, no longer with us, but I wonder what he would say. He had a lot of options. WW2 and WW1. He was also alive during JFK's assassination. He lived until 1989, so he saw a lot. I think he would probably say WW2.

When I heard about it on the news after school, I was scared half to death, knowing that was close to our school. We didn’t have to go on lockdown, because it was almost the end of the day, and no one had known about it. People say, “that will never happen where I live”, and I believed that-until that day. Poon SINGHATIRAJ ww1 and 2? The global economic collapse of the 30s? Cold war? Internet? A lot of it seems pretty global to me. Truth of the matter is, the West has had its hands in many political matters worldwide in the past 100 years.

I'm honestly so shocked only 1 person said the Berlin Wall falling. And also shocked no other wars, like the vietnam war or the korean war or afghanistan war.. none were mentioned yet all had just as much death and significance as 9/11. They just weren't on US soil and therefore weren't broadcast all over the TV for years to come.

They'd have to atleast be 75 and that would place them being born in 1942. So they'd have to be like 90 years old before it'd start meaning anything to them.

9/11 also had a profound, lasting impact on the entire world. That has lead to bad foreign policy and the deaths of even more innocent people all across the globe. As terrorist became more and more ambitious with their attacks.

I am 39 and I vividly remember the Berlin Wall coming down. I had enough of an idea beforehand and by seeing the footage to know it was a big deal, but no idea just HOW big a deal it was, other than my parents' stunned reaction. Later on, of course, I realized just how massive a change in the world it represented. It would be a toss-up for me between the Berlin Wall and 9/11.
