7-Year-Old Runs to Utah Home After Stranger Offers Her a Bicycle

Seven-year-old Emmy McCardell was sunbathing outside her house in Salt Lake City when a car pulled up. The driver offered a friendly greeting, then asked an enticing question that any little kid could fall for. “Do want a bicycle?” he asked. But little Emmy knew just what to do. She yelled “no” and ran into her home. Emmy's mom Michelle knew something was wrong the second her daughter ran through the door. She says she taught her two kids from an early age about “stranger danger.” #InsideEdition

I heard a report about how this girl got kidnapped in her own car or mom's car or something like that🤷🤦 she was warming up the car I think and the guy came out of nowhere, hopped in the car and drove off with her in it. That's how I remember it🤷 crazy stuff man. We're not safe in our yards, cars, nun of that. That's why my stepdad always freaks out in the morning when I forget to text him "I'm on the bus"

Jayanti Jackson something skep happened to me when I was in middle school. My mom went into UDF to get a pack of smokes while I was sleeping in the passengers seat in our car. She came out just to find a middle aged man next to our car looking in on me. My mom started to yell at him and the dude darted. Thank goodness she locked the car. It’s truly scary :(

I am soooo happy to see this and very proud of this little baby girl. To test my daughter who was about 5 years old at the time, I had my colleague call my house one day and my daughter answered the phone. She told her that she had some candy and other little gifts that she would like to give her, and if she came outside she could get it. My colleague told her that she was her Mom's friend and that her Mom would not mind her coming to see her. I was listening in and tried as my colleague would, she could not coax my daughter to do what she wanted. My daughter proceeded to shout at her saying that if her Mom knows the friend, she herself does not and she was told not to take anything from strangers without her Mom's permission. She also threatened to call her Mom and the Police and just unapologetically slammed down the phone in my colleague's ear. As soon as I got home that evening, she went right into telling me what happened without missing a beat. Ok then! It was at that point I knew that I had taught her well. Today, she is a beautiful young woman who still remains very cautious, though I am yet to tell her that it was me and my colleague who had made that phone call. 😉 I am so very proud of the person she has become.

And Abduction isn't happening a lot in Sweden. But I disappeared some times when my neighbours wanted to show me their monkeys and stuff (they actually did have monkeys, and were friends with my family, it was their daughter that asked me). Also got lost at lego land in Denmark. But the ones talking to me showed me to the missing kids house so I was safe, though mom was scared out of her life.

Similar thing when I was growing up. We also had a code word, (something that could fit pretty reasonably into a sentence, but also not a word we ever used) so if something was wrong on the phone I could let her know without raising suspicion. I remember her telling me to scream, cry, throw up, throw myself on the floor. Make a scene. Yell “fire”, yell “earthquake”, yell your parents’ full names. Also remember practicing “stop”. That if she said “stop”, and nothing else (not stop that/stop getting tattoos, lol whatever else) no matter how mad I was or if we were fighting, I had to freeze, because she’d seen something I hadn’t. We had to use the code word once, and “stop” once, but once is more than enough. My older brother also gave me his brass knuckles before college which made me feel a bit better as a kid/teen lol

Not really. I grew up in a martial arts dojo in the '90s. Sensei always asked us, "What does a stranger look like?" The answer was, "Someone you don't know." Stranger danger has existed forever. It's always been there. Always. All parts of the world. It's not bad that kids learn to protect themselves.

When I was five my neighbour and her friend told me about a girl that got into a car with a man that offered her candy. Of course the child was found brutally murdered. When I was six I was walking along a country road when a man offered me candy to get in his car to help him find a particular street, I couldn’t even read yet. Of course bells and whistles went off in my head and I started running and screaming for my older brother who was riding his bike nearby. When I looked backed the guy was starting to back up. Luckily my screams had alerted men working in a field next to to road. About ten of them were running towards the car with their knives that they had been using to harvest lettuce. The car peeled out and took off. Oddly, I never bothered to tell my parents and no one called the cops.

When I was a kid i almost got abducted by a child predator cop. I was on the swings and my great-grandma was on the bench. She could see me from an angle but the cop could see her because from his POV, the restroom building blocks the bench. He pulled up and called the little boys who were playing basketball over to him and then he had them call me over. Me being the only little girl on the playground. They said ,"Hey Girl! The police wanna talk to you!" Instincts, I just shook my head no. And stayed where I was. The boys kept saying, "Hey YOU! Girl! The police said come here! He said come here! He wants to talk to you!". I stopped swinging and just CAUTIOUS shook my head NO. Y great grandma got up from the bench, she was a spry early 60s and she looked up the hill to the boys and the cop car, the boys were still yelling at me, and my Great grandma said, "what do they want??" In her cool 😎 skeptism type way, and I said, 'They said that policeman wants to talk to me,", Cop saw my great grandma and drove off. I still remember his mirror sunglass and his left arm sticking out the window and that fold watch glistening in the sun. My grandma asked again, "what did he say, what did he want?" I said, " I dunno but I wasn't going over there, I don't know what he wanted." I was about 5 or 6 yrs old. Funny how spiritual intuition guides you to resist danger
