On May 24th, a seven-year-old first-grade child tragically drowned in the Tizϋ River in the Phek district of Laluri village. VDB of Laluri village Aarom informed that, Despite four days passing since the incident, the child's body has not been recovered. The child was one of three who ventured to the Tizϋ River without parental knowledge, and unfortunately, one fell into the river, resulting in the fatal accident. Since then, villagers have been tirelessly searching and camping along the riverside in hopes of retrieving the body. However, heavy rainfall has caused water levels to rise, posing challenges to the search efforts. Despite the presence of rescuers along the river stretch, the body remains elusive. There have been reports from rescuers in the bordering village of Burma, Avakhung claiming to have sighted the body, but uncertainty surrounds these sightings.
