I absolutely love the lore she wrote for Paprika the llama. In a society where everyone has to band together and work their butts off to survive, she's running around knitting sweaters and doling out back-crunching hugs. When the call came for champions, they actually tied her up and dropped her off at the battlegrounds, figuring that since it was a miracle THEY were alive, the predators and other champions wouldn't stand a chance.

I'm starting to think that pretty much ANYTHING can be made into a fighting game, if you try hard enough. Though it is good to hear that "Theme's Fighting Herds" is going strong! I first heard about it when it was still a fan game, and I'm glad they were able to find a way out and around the C&D (with Faust's help, no less!).

Us History fact of the day, James K. Polk was a noted ‘dark horse’ candidate in that nobody knew who tf he was prior to his candidacy. One of the ‘slurs’ that was said against him was ‘who is James K. Polk’

Another game that the creators of Fight of Gods created that is REALLY weird is Fight of Animals. It's basically 12 different animal memes each turned into fighting game characters, including Walking Cat, Power Hook Dog, Magic Squirrel, Egg Dog, Muscle Beluga, and Fluffy Sheep! It's also a bit simpler than other fighting games, making it very easy to pick up. No QCF, QCB or DP movements here. And yet, it still has quit a bit of depth to it. Definitely one of my favorites.

"Fight crab", when a pun is so good it deserves its own game.

“I’m back...for the people.” That’s amazing.

How about Aquapazza, an anime fighting game featuring a crossover of character coming from "romantic adult visual novels". Imagine your favorite romantic drama characters meeting together to get into a fist fight.

There's quite a lot of these, Aquapazza, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, BBCTB (which stars RWBY and the WWII themed Akatsuki Blitzkampf). Crossovers are a dime a dozen, and besides - Tasogare Frontier's Eternal Fighter Zero was the first VN-based crossover, predating even Melty Blood!

@@thewizardninja Yeah, but in terms of a full cast of dating sim characters, it's not the first. Eternal Fighter Zero is arguably weirder since its all KEY VN characters - by right only a handful of them actually knows how to fight. :3 Also, pretty much predates every VM turned fighting game, even Melty Blood (which probably is the first eroge turned fighting game.)

Evil Zone was a weird one for me. Mostly because it only had 2 buttons (attack and block) although they managed to do a lot with just that. Plus it had a power ranger character that would say, "I'm not easy" anytime he was hit while blocking, so thats always a plus in my book.

The ad is still playing and I’m already *confident* that Jane’s hair will be supernaturally fantastic.

I've dreamed of that since MGS4. Imagine Otocon and Sunny taking the data from all the different Metal Gears and using it to make at mecha fighting game, called Metal Gear Clash.

Fight Crab and Crush Hour making the list brought me joy. Crush Hour may be a ripoff of Twisted Metal, but I played it a lot against my friend back in the day, so it holds a special place in my heart. And Fight Crab is just...ridiculous and I love it XD

All I can think of now is Solid Snake crawling through a cave shouting, “CR-CRA-CRAB BATTLE!”

lol reminds me of this episode of Mad Tv (I think) where they had Jesus fighting Moses and he used his finishing move "the Lazarus maneuver" where he killed him with lightning bolts and kept bringing him back to life and doing it again over and over till round time ran out

I remember playing a fun physics-based fighter in Sydney a few years ago. All the characters were those balloon characters like you see outside car dealerships. I wish I could remember the name, because trying to lunge forward against the wind was hilarious and difficult. Gimmick fighting games are great!

I'll tell you one you did miss... The meme-inspired "Fight of Animals", where you literally play as characters based on animal memes!

Why would we get so upset over a simple thing like that? We're all humans who are bound to get something wrong at some point or the other. Best to just explain things calmly and let it go. Getting upset over a small detail will only make things worse when there is really little reason.
