I miss TKOR :(... He explained things so easily
The nostalgia is awsome to have and remember.

Miss this guy.
TKOR: Legacy Edition.
Just wanna say, get ceramic paint as a final coating over your cement. You’ll be in awe at how quickly you’ll get white heat.
I really miss this dude... Those were nicer times
This is the kind of content that i want to see, i will look forward to a series of calm but creative TKOR videos

Same.... Miss the grin and way of doing/explaining....
When using the firebricks, I would suggest lining the whole outside of the bucket with K-wool blanket, then put the firebrick in tightly, maybe split the blanket so everything fits tightly, then fill in the gaps, there’s a product called water glass that’s made for glueing K-wool and firebrick together, I use this method quite a bit when I rebuild chambers in boilers, water glass isn’t easy to work with, but it works well.
Can still remember the video as if it was yesterday.

I love these roll-ups, like edited playlists that walk you through the progress that was made. Thank you, and bravo.
This is awesome, I'd been thinking about buying something for a while to melt cans but now I'm going to make one!

You can find water glass at a plumbing/heating supply house, I love these videos, I’m going to build a large foundry and crucible so I can melt down all of my scrap copper into #1, the price for #1 copper right now is almost $4.00 a pound, and I have almost 1000 pounds right now.

How does one accumulate 1000 pounds of scrap copper
Great job guys. Pretty long episode, but it's worth watching the whole thing
Tip for longer lasting bolts. At 40:36 protect the protruding bolts by pushing them through a few small kaowool scraps.
Love this one 💪🏻

the one part ya'll don't touch on is how to build the burners, that is the part that gave me the most headache. things like what type of regulator you need (high output, not just any regulator will work) the size of the orifice for the gas port (found somewhere that said size 0.030 MIG tips work well for propane) these are the things I would like see covered please.
Kail wool you should always wear a respirator or seal it with refractory cement because it get thrown into the air by the blowers

Thanks!
I love this.
I enjoyed this compilation so much more with the sound off and subscript turned on so I missed out on the distracting annoying frustrating to listen to Muzak-type noise, which I didn’t care for. In spite of my complaining about the interference music (which I didn’t care for ;-) I Loved the video! Thank You so much for putting them all together!

And remember the galvanized will burn off eventually, so keep that in mind if you see fumes or yellow dust.

Beautiful
In the past you've changed the density of wood with water in a vacuum chamber. Could you try that with metals/alloys with a melting point under 300° C (the burning point of wood) try little wood sculptures and what not. Just a heating plate a pot and vacuum chamber
@12white1
2 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a fun idea
You may also try using perlite in your mix with the sand and plaster. I made mine using mortar and perlite.
I did a backyard foundry... I suggest using ceramic wool, a 5-gallon bucket, and ITC-100 clay slurry brushed into it liberally. It insulates better and is more refractory. I also used steel pipe with a cap welded on the bottom.
This is much better than boiling glue or microwaving stuff
Another throwback! =)
Bravo 👏
Bro i miss him so much😢😢😢
Refractory Cement for the Foundry!!!
I think of TKOR pronounced as the letters 'T" "K" "O" "R"
Omg my heart 💙
Learning from your video's Thank you for making them! Can I make (with the materials you used) an undergroud for making and soldering silver e.d.? And perhaps building 'a little wall to so my crucible is out op the wind? Thank you fro thinking about an answer Greetings from the Netherlands, Jan
Might try carbon fiber strands/weave instead of steel wool. Both will convey heat about the same amount, alas, but the carbon fiber won't deteriorate over time like steel will.
This is emotional
rest in peace man your vids were amazing
53:16 no masks drilling you folks are cray- cray!
thank you
Nice video
Classic :D
Dang I miss him.
Put the crucible back in the forge after you use it rather than letting it cool at room temperature. let it cool with the forge to avoid thermal shock. Also store your crucible in air Tite container. to avoid moisture which will shorten thew life. Also, It is advised to bring crucible up to 4 0r 500 degrees and let cool before the first use. If you take care of crucible last for exceptionally long time.
Miss him
Can you do a video on how to build an electric foundry?
Thanks
❤❤❤❤ keep doing
TKOR take notes!!
we miss you so much!
Use some chicken wire in the plaster for reinforcement
Could you do the wool but also with Charcol over Propane I really do not like messing with Propane. But I never can get the plaster of paris to work for me
Yes can we
This stuff is useful. You should look into making lava like the Action Lab did.
Nice
lessgo my fav vid is back!
Cool
what size blanket of kaowool does it take to do a bucket & lid of that size?
Why not a link to the monolithic brand heat resistant cement? Thanks. I can find gloves, and a followup to see if this works as planned.

Is the sand necessary for this for this project I have plaster from other DIY projects I want to use up
Without refractory on the ceramic wool, those fibers will go airborn and get into your lungs. Think about a stabilizer at the very least. You also have to worry about vaporizing that zinc off the metal which is also very toxic.
man I really wanna use the kao wool giant one but I'm so worried about heating up the galvanized trash can
The credible you wreckamend on Amazon says not use with coal does that mean also charcoal brackets? 😮
They've gone bigger, now Grace needs to make one Grace sized!

Shouldn’t you put the ceramic board on top of the fiber batting? 😊😊 Personally, I would put 2 layers of the batting and fiber board. Just saying. Lol. Actually I have a rather large kiln. Shrugging my shoulders. Lol. 😊😊
Can you melt glass in something like that?
@johnschulgen1121

I don't get the point of the lid with handle if there is gonna be a hole in the center of it.
@justanothermeltingchannel
2 жыл бұрын
The hole is an exhaust for venting heat and, if you’re using propane, allow excess gas to vent out. Any melting furnace has one because you need it.
