Oh I was in same situation! I was wearing a simple red dress and almost no makeup, it was a late dinner, and literally 5 people (they didn't know each other) assumed I was French and complimented me that evening. Since then that dress is my fav 😂 I don't know why, but the word French itself implies something nice (at least for me). I enjoy listening to Frederique!

My "summer" perfume is Eau des Jardins by Clarins, spray and body lotion. Beautiful. I never leave the house without some makeup, however subtle. When I was teaching (French) I sometimes took my make up to work to apply before class. (You had to be early to get a parking space). One day I forgot. I had to borrow some from a colleague before going to teach, I couldn't go into that room bare-faced. Stage make up??

Wonderful topic once again-thank you!! I was born in France to my US military family but have always considered myself French!! I love your question "Would Frederique approve?" because I often ask myself "What would a French girl do?" I think that the same ideas about thinking like the French can be applied to our homes and to our workplaces as well. There's always room for the "less is more" and the idea that one should not be vulgar in our world. I am so happy you shared the Ana Luisa jewelry-just what I have been looking for ! Happy weekend, Frederique!!

Yay, for the sponsor! You’re great and it’s about time sponsors recognized that. My mom agreed with every single point. She’s from the Bordeaux region but the ladies in her family are effortlessly elegant as well. They could wear jeans and t-shirt and still look très chic! And they all smell wonderful. Is it true about finding your signature perfume by the age of 30? An aunt told me this once. I haven’t found my key perfume yet and I’m almost 50…🤭

Love this! I just cannot get on board with the perfume. So many people are sensitive (or allergic) to fragrance and I cannot stand being in a closed space with someone who is wearing it. I get an immediate headache. Also, I worked in a doctor’s office for 10 years where it was not allowed, so maybe I have a heightened sensitivity to it. I think between shampoo, hair serums, and natural pheromones, it’s nice to have your own personal scent.

I agree! Everyone is super anti-fragrance where I live, they will pinch their noses, making gagging sounds, rude remarks, etc., when they smell strong perfume. There are anti-fragrance signs posted everywhere. I suffered terribly in the 80s and 90s when those heavy ones like Opium, Poison, etc., lingered everywhere at my office. Now, I hate those modern scents that smell like artificial fruit flavors, candy, muffins, vanilla, etc., they make me nauseated. I like the smell of just soap, when I get really close.

Those points are for oil pure parfum (old times). Currently, fragrances have so many chemicals I would not recommend them putting them in your skin. You can lift your hair and spray at the top of your neck. But again, that would be better with an organic oil or spray version. I love parfum but I care about my health too 😊💕✨

I am Italian and everyone says Italians have style. I in general agree, but I find the French way very stylish and at the same time much more practical. I have a feeling of less show and truer elegance. Especially when it comes to skin care and make-up, I find the French attitude so reasonable and down-to-earth that I cannot but love it.

Look. I know French have a excellent taste, and dressed beautifully, also are cappable to mix and match their clothes in a very elegant taste. And that is beautiful to see. But most of the woman who will try to look like French women will fail because the have not the size, the stature, the features, the skin color.. etc... People around you will feel attracted to you if you are nice, have a beautiful smile, if you are intelligent and can have a very nice conversation. If you have good values, if you are compassionate.. if you are authentic, and copy other person won't make you authentic... This videos should help you to learn how to use what you have and improve your apereance in your own magical way. If that is what you need to feel better. In my country we said even if the monkey wears silk will be a monkey... Which means. I'm a Latin woman, with Latin features. I perfectly could be a very well dress Latin girl if I use certain tips. But I will never look French, because I'm a Latin woman, and there is nothing wrong about it.. Every single culture has their own beautiful features and is specially beautiful.

Could not agree more and thank you for saying it. South African women are so beautiful, across the colour spectrum. They are so stylish. Many of us carry the surnames of our French Settler ancestors: Le Roux. Du Toit. Labuschagne and many more but our look is South African. The street style of the young African people here is just fabulous.

@@chrislstahl4239 I'm not talking about that!! I'm a Latin living in north America, but doesn't change my eyes blue color, or doesn't make me be taller, or my skin color lighter... Whatever I'll go people will know that I'm a Latin American person, even my accent will show it. I speak many languages, very well, but I still keep a little Spanish accent.. and is nothing wrong about it. I embrace those differences and that made me unique. You can try to look like you are from a different country but you will never lose your roots. Yes there are tons of latin Americans living in France, but they look french?? No.. Will they be Victims of racism or be discriminated..probably... There are many who were born in France, but if a french person approach for a little conversation will always ask where do you come from... because of the physical features.. All I'm saying is that we have to embrace out roots, make the best of us, love ourselves the way we are. Without trying to be anyone else. There isn't something more sexy or attractive than a woman/ men secure of themselves.
