In this video, we’re going to talk about the seven warning signs that your kidneys are toxic.
What is the purpose of the kidneys? Kidneys filter your blood to get rid of toxins and reabsorb useful nutrients.
The more your kidneys are damaged, the more they fail to filter out waste products and toxins.
Early signs of kidney damage can include:
• A metallic taste in your mouth
• Itchiness
• Ammonia odor on breath
Here are the 7 Warning signs that your kidneys are toxic:
1. Edema (fluid build-up) in legs or underneath eyes
2. Uremic frost (urea crystal deposits on the skin)
3. High blood pressure
4. Exhaustion
5. Excess protein in the urine
6. Acidic urine
7. Low vitamin D
These are the primary causes of kidney damage:
#1 Diabetes
#2 High blood pressure
#3 Polycystic kidney disease
#4 Glomerulonephritis
If you have end-stage kidney disease, it’s important to avoid having too much phosphorus and potassium.
If you don’t have severe kidney damage, potassium is one of the most important minerals to support your kidneys.
When you have kidney damage, you will likely have low vitamin D and calcium.
The best foods and nutrients for your kidneys are:
• Leafy-green vegetables
• Asparagus
• Kale
• Celery
• Fish/seafood
• Organic grass-fed meat
• Baja gold sea salt
• Renafood (Standard Process)
Avoid these foods if you have kidney problems:
• Spinach
• Almonds
• Kiwi
• Beet leaves
• Beans
• Grains
• All low-quality foods that contain chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, and GMOs
2.5 liters of water daily is ideal for supporting healthy kidneys.
The Healthy Keto diet and intermittent fasting plan is the best way to support healthy kidneys. If you’re new to this keto diet plan, check out my other videos on keto and IF to learn more.

Is anyone else seriously grateful not just for everything this doctor shares with all of us but for the fact that he does so without constantly bombarding us with some sort of sales pitch to buy some self-serving self-promoting “secret” formula and/or product with his name and picture splashed across the label of whatever “snake oil” everyone else is pushing? I for one am extremely grateful for everything he shares/teaches/warns with/for/us of with such professional non-inflammatory calm.

I just want to share my experiences. I had a bladder infection and diverticulitis, and refused to take out my bladder. Infections were eliminated but were associated with edema, high blood pressure, exhaustion and urinary tract infections. This went on for over a year which caused my legs to become weak and nerve damaged, spasms and cramps occurring frequently. The damage to my legs was not severe. I took celery capsules, the Dr. Berg Formula bladder formula, garlic, oregano, potassium chloride 4800, sulbutamine and Tudca. And lots of prayers to Allah SWT. Intermittent fasting 18 hours daily and meals restricted to eggs, temp, tofu, pork choy, asparagus, avocado, papaya, and other meals always start with KimChi. Some meat now and then. Infections and edema disappeared within a month and gain leg muscles strength.

She must watch out for oxalates. Oxalates are EXTREMELY toxic fo our kidneys. It's dangerous to our gut, cells and so much more. People have literally died from consuming spinach smoothies because they contain so much oxalic acid.

There is a reason that more and more people are having issues with ckd. Its because of what's being pushed to us as healthy foods. A lot have a oxalate amount that causes damage to our body but especially our kidneys. Then we take so many things that cause leaky gut issues where more of the oxalate is absorbed. Things like NSAIDs, various drugs, WHEAT, gluten and other things.

I developed potassium wasting through the kidneys.. too much relating to my health to list here but essentially I had come off crap food to lots of fresh fruits & veggies then got sick from mold then believed the lies that green smoothies & raw veg juices would heal me.. I did that several years then that plus another tick bite crashed my health.. Now I’m learning that I have oxalate poisoning which can cause severe b1 deficiency which can lead to rhabdomyolysis which nearly killed me several times. Oxalates bind easily to potassium. Oxalates are insidious and are bot really known about except in case of kidney stones but most people don’t get those. Watch talks with Sally Norton as well as Elliot Overton regarding the oxalate issue and Elliot Overton regarding b1 thiamine deficiency. So much is becoming clear to me now and it’s overwhelming but empowering. Good luck

My Dad's feet looked like that he went on peritoneal dialysis. He was diabetic and nobody was recommending low carb and IF back then. That kind of dialysis didn't work well so he went to get a shunt put in for hemodialysis and the doctor made an error and poked a hole somehow in his heart or the sac or something and he died in 1998. Our Doctors have not been trained properly about nutrition much or else since the greedy elite run the medical schools and big pharma ( IMO). Thank God for people like Dr. Berg.

I'm getting ready to possibly start dialysis when the time comes, I'm at stage 5 kidney failure. I feel doctors don't inform patients well about this issue for patients to take care of themselves. Telling us there's protein in the urine etc and not telling us why or how to avoid it doesn't help. Educating patients about their condition to me is the key. I've been managing my kidney issues with not much information from my doctors, my Dr. never really asked me the correct questions for me to know my kidneys were getting worse. until now that they're preparing me for dialysis I'm finally getting all the information I should've gotten when I started having issues. I learned a lot more watching this video today than all these past few year with my doctors 😞it feels like they really don't care. Thank you for all the information you're sharing.

Best advice I could ever give is this....Check the side effects on ALL your meds! Most cause kidney issues, but some are worse! I was on Topamax for years and years, and now have kidney failure. My Dr's deny the med causing it, but I KNOW it did! I went off alot of my meds on my own, and cut many doses in half. I told my Dr I did it. He wasn't happy, but I told him my kidneys were MORE important. You have to weigh out what is important to you and your health, and your future! My kidneys are working at 60% right now. They dropped from 70% and went down another 10 in 6 months. Be aware of your body. Be aware of what is going on. I have back trouble, sciatica...So my kidney pain was thought to be my back for a year b4 I went and had it checked. I would say....IF YOU HAVE PAIN, ALWAYS HAVE IT CHECKED OUT!!! Another piece of advice....Make sure you have a dr that cares for people, not dollar bills. Good luck everyone. 🙂💗

I was also told that so many years of taking Ibuprofen like it was candy did not help my kidneys at all. It actually harmed them....and that was just otc meds. I can't imagine what prescribed pain meds end up doing. Maybe do some extra research on what helps with your specific areas of pain, and discuss the findings with your Dr. I regret so many years of taking ibu's. I can't go back though. Swelling in the hands, legs and feet. Muscle weakness, restless legs, breathlessness, chest pain, frequency and urgency of urination… etc. There’s a lot more symptoms then what he said. Sad part is many doctors ignore your symptoms. It was only until I had 3x the amount of vitamin C, citric acid, and high doses of Azo (that I took back in December for UTI) and there was a bunch of other things that were really high and I had severe dehydration in my urine tests. They say to have a low sodium, potassium, protein diet and eat high carb when you have kidney damage. Yes, diabetes can cause kidney disease but so can lupus nephritis and NSAIDS.

Also, look at suppressed fear. My mother 87 years old had ‘kidney disease’ for years, doing everything that the Speacialist suggested for years. Kidney blood test around 35... for years. Moved more onto keto diet... and also did emotional healing and healing with early childhood fear... which she’s been carrying all her life. Did kinesiology and had a deep healing Reiki session. Next visit her kidney blood reading at 47. Normal is 50. Speacialist said, ‘you’re reading nearly normal, I will get your GP to monitor your blood tests but I don’t need to see you anymore.’ Yay Mum. Boo to doctor... not even interested in what she did to change the readings... after years of six monthly visits and very little change to a difference of 12 points in 6 months! Kidneys hold your fear. Do please address your emotional issues as well as what Dr Berg advises. As for mum... she’s more confident and her anxiety levels have come down considerably and she’s now much more relaxed and communicative. ❤️🤗🙏🏼 to everyone.

I know we can see on the outside of our bodies the problems that are going on the inside of our bodies, but WOW! If we were able to actually see inside our bodies to see the damage we are doing to the insides I think we would all be a lot healthier and aware of what we are eating and doing.

Thank you for this information I've had problems with my lower limbs being affected by edema. I went to my pcp to refer me to a vascular specialost however he was concerned about a mass he felt in the abdomen area. Long story short there was a large benign tumor that was so huge it dislocated my left uterer, pressed on my kidneys and intestines. My pressure was high, vitamin d levels were really low along with iron. Thank god my pcp stressed the issues with my abdomen, The tumor was removed with the help of 6 specialist a uterer stent placed, and unfortunately a hysterectomy. I haven't had this issue since my surgery and my glucose is fine

High proteins are bad for kidney problems though .. I have kidney problems but normally not serious but anytime I eat too much proteins I end up getting the real bad edima where my ankles swell up and look like footballs . My fingers get fat and I can't take my rings off ... I get puffy under my eyes and I feel slightly drunk from the fluids in my body and I just don't feel well very tired . Too many proteins in too much salt will do this if the kidneys are sensitive or damaged/ diseased .

Dr. Berg, thanks for everything you do and everything you share with us. Am feel blessed to have good understanding of the things you teach. I cannot thank you enough. I have a question. When it comes to the consumption of water, you have mention that you drink 2 to 3 glasses and I know that by drinking a lot of water without electrolytes we pee them. I was just wondering how could we avoid having that issue with our kidneys if we are not hitting that 2.3 liters of water a day. I would appreciate your answer. Much love from the DR 🇩🇴

The worst thing that happened to my kidneys was in 2012 when I had septic shock. My urine was the color of Pepsi for over 24 hours but thankfully they responded to fluids or I was going to be air lifted for dialysis. My creatinine was over 5 when I got to the ER. In 2015, I had sepsis and learned that the med Simvastatin had caused me to develop Rhabdomyolysis which was sending muscle enzymes to my kidneys which I was told would plug my kidneys, damaging them. Thankfully I had a doctor who recognized what was going on because those 2 illnesses make doctors fearful of running any kind of dye through my veins. Thanks for the informative video!!

Dr Berg, I started Keto with you and found I had a few of these symptoms, the edema, low Vitamin D, high blood pressure. I'm not diabetic. I got kidney stones and then I found out I had 2 parathyroid tumors which were leaching calcium from my bones and caused me to have osteoporosis. I flew across the country to Tampa Florida to have surgery to remove them. (they are the only ones who do it correctly) Now I am back on Keto, listening to your videos! Thank you for all your videos!
