This video was very helpful. I forgot how to access some of these features and forgot that Face ID is an easy way to view the photos. Getting rid of duplicates also has the benefit for freeing up a lot of space and reduces the storage space. 😁

Hi Ellen! These tips were very helpful. I had named some of my “People, Pets, and Places”, but I couldn’t remember how I did it. With the instructions in this video I was able to continue with giving pictures names. As always your videos are concise and informative. Keep the videos coming! Thanks. Kindness, Teresa

I notice that if you put a photo in an album and then delete it in the old photos folder in the library, it will disappear from the folder you created is correct?
@EllensTipsForiOS

That would be correct. If you delete a photo it is deleted everywhere.

@@EllensTipsForiOS same as the reply above …they don’t use space,,they are just links,,,only the Library is the real image . If you delete the Library one it disappears everywhere unless you create a “Shared “ Album or the “Hidden” Album then that is the only image .that remains. Very odd but I have tried it …have a go folks …but thanks Ellen .

I store my photos in iCloud. I deleted a photo stored in my Screenshots folder and this is the message I received: “This photo will be deleted from iCloud Photos on all your devices. It will be in Recently Deleted for 30 days”.
Also if you go to Screenshots and delete them they disappear from the Library and Recents…is this a good idea ?

If you no longer have use for them they just take up space.

@@EllensTipsForiOS I always understood that images in albums and screenshots did not take up space as they are not images but only links to the library image. That’s what Honest Tech on KZread said anyway,would appreciate any comments .

If you delete photos from your device and you use iCloud they will be deleted from your device in 30 days. You can find them in the trash bin until they are permanently deleted.

I replied to your earlier comment. If you want a photo don’t delete it.
Ellen can you recommend any apps to keep a 73 year old brain in functioning condition?

Hi Pam! Look up the Elevate app. I’m not sure if it’s available in your area but search in the App Store. There’s a paid version but they do allow for some free use.
