My dog loves watching fireworks! We socialized her a lot to loud noises as a puppy and shes one now and she was super happy this fourth of july!

I don’t leave my dogs on 4th of July. I have three dogs, two labs and a boxer. I don’t like fireworks either.

I used to love the 4th and the firework festivities. Now it's my least favorite holiday. 😞 I had 8 Danes and I found that with the Danes who did have firework phobia, nothing would calm their fears. Also, it's not only our domestic pets who suffer the terror, wildlife is affected as well. Thanks for some helpful tips and bringing awareness to this troubling problem. 👍

When my Great danes have been scared I would lay with them and hold them tight. Continuing to let them know it was going to be OK. They usually would calm down to the point we both got a nap.....

As regards background noise, what worked for us was rock music or classical (1812 Overture!) but the best of all, as you say, are the cuddles and encouraging words (in the UK we have a big firework celebration on 5th November) Big hugs to the ever gorgeous Gus! Last year when my great Dane mix was still a puppy he was to little to keep at home all day so I brought him to the fireworks and covered his ears the whole time but he got so scared he peed on me I felt so bad

Lot of great ideas. My oldest Dane shakes during storms. She is 7 and has a bad knee so exercise is out. Thank you!

I have 5 Great Danes but only one that is afraid of thunderstorms. Is there a way to help her through the storm? She’s 4 years old, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. None of them are afraid of the fireworks. Thank goodness!

I feel lucky that both my dogs don't really care about the "big booms" happening ALL week in my neighborhood. My foster dog, also a Great Dane, she is not happy about all these noises. We've been using the frozen Kong with peanut butter and treats and a radio playing in the dog room have been helping her. Excellent tips to try! Thank you for the video on this subject!

Is it a good idea to swim with our great danes?

Aww. My poor rescue girl just shakes silently and wants to me on the bed with me. My pup couldn’t care less. I wonder if she’ll grow scared of them?

You should make a shirt that says "Daney." That would snap my man!
