7 Tips to Improve Communication in Your Relationship | Paul Friedman

This topic, 7 tips to improve communication in your relationship is so important for you when you want to have a happy marriage. When Paul Friedman had sessions with couples after he ended his career as a divorce mediator over 20 years ago, he used to ask the person calling what they needed. At least 80% said they were having trouble communicating. So, although they would get to communication, and our courses for both men and women have sections devoted to marital communication, he began with teaching them the importance of mastering the mind and stopping destructive behaviors by replacing habits. With his revolutionary techniques, especially the SEW individuals were able to redesign themselves into ideal spouses of their own design. Then they got to communication and how important it is to understand how different marital communication is from all other forms in different venues.
These 7 tips to improve communication in your relationship are foolproof but please do not think that it is all you need. Your marriage is the biggest thing you have ever done and doing it right will provide amazing benefits to you but you need to study marriage with the gravity of its importance. These are tips, and they will help you but bear in mind they are only for verbal communication

Feel grateful for communicating with spouse. Don't go for desires. Be a Patient listener. Don't interrupt or interject. Don't give advice, instead give support. Understand what they are saying from their point of view Be positive. Give positive feedback. See good in all events of our lives. Begin all conversations with acknowledgement or a compliment. End conversations with gratitude.

Guy...thanks for this. It's great BUT HARD WORK! Are we supposed to be born with a natural ability to communicate well? Why are all these traits not natural and seemless?
