Nagtratrabaho ako dito sa US. All the time po ako nag i-English. Nakakapagod. Nakakamiss mag-Tagalog. Pag may nahulog ako or pag nagulat ako sa work... Pinoy expressions ang lumalabas... hahaha Malulutong na Pilipino words ang nasasabi ko. Ang sarap ng feeling... ang sarap magTagalog! My tip is wag maging self- conscious sa grammar or pronunciation. The problem hir in the Philippines they always bragg you if your grammar is incorrect. That's why you lossing your confidence to converse in English.

You’re good. I’ve been in the US for more than 30 years but the local themselves talk slang. And now I talk like them. I prefer to speak proper English. This way, you gain respect from them most specially at the workforce. You get better chances to be at the top of the food chain. Keep it up.

I got your point because even American is not that good in English yes they speak fluently but they only depend on sound to understand. For them as long as you understand each other you are good. I've seen a lot of call center agents who get positive appraisal from American customers because even if they have accent (referring to the Visayan people) they are spontaneous and understandable.

Bangungot Mo Ko I’m Visayan but no one noticed that I have heavy accent...so not only Visayan have heavy accents but other people other than Visayan as well

To be honest based on my experience when I was In school some teachers they don't have care to some weak students as long as their salaries was paid by the government. I am thankful to here because we have been content creators who's willing to share their knowledge to help us and learn on what didn't recognized in the past.

My tip is create a journal. After months of learning the language, re-read your journal to know if there are improvements. Another tip is translate the words that you can't understand into Filipino, just to get some ideas kung ano ibig sabihin ng mga salitang naii-encounter natin either reading or watching. Sa ngayon, patuloy kong iniimprove ang english ko, especially my grammar.

I’m addicted to american tv shows and i can vividly remember my english professor when i was in college, she gave us a task to make a play using the jargons of different professions. And I was the only one in our class who got 10/10 because she told me i was fluent in english ( tho i know that i was really bad in pronouncing english words) because i didn’t notice that improvement on myself. During those times i was addicted to two american tv shows which were “Riverdale” and “13 Reasons Why.” I didn’t know that i already familiarized their accent and the right pronunciation of words. Watching american tv shows really made a big impact on my english pronunciation because aside from the english speakers of the shows, these shows also have english subtitles. P.S english was one of my weaknesses but now i’m already a licensed english teacher. It wasn’t easy but it was really worth it.

Kahit nga sa mga foreign countries di parin madedeny na nagkakamali rin sila sa grammar. Watch some international movies kahit may subtitle o wala, try to observe and listen, paminsan nagkakamali din sila sa grammar.

Very kind of you to teach our students the correct and proper pronunciations of so many English words...this wasn't always the case...up until then senators Raul Rocco and Joseph Estrada passed a law translating everything to Tagalog...this is the side effect of their stupid law...I was lucky to have learned the correct way to pronounce and speak fluent English...I pitied my children because they had to suffer for the stupidity of our lawmakers because they couldn't speak English...they made all generations like them...thank you for your patience...keep up the good work!

You’re right. I myself experienced that. Di ako masyado komportable gamitin ang english.. nung nasa ibang bansa kami, marami ako nakasalamuha na mga pilipino na nakatira na sa US. Yung tipong pareho naman kayo pilipino kakausapin ka in straight english, at kapag sumagot ka na mali ang pronounciation mo, they keep on saying pardon??? As if they dont understood what you have said. Pero kapag pure american ang kausap ko at nakitang mejo hesitant ako makipag usap, sabi sa kin, just say it. Don’t mind about the grammar, even us didn’t follow it. I’m sure sinabi lang nya yun para matuto akong makipag usap.. Kaya ayun, mas komportable akong kausapin ang pure american kesa sa mga “americanized filipino” (sorry about the grammar) ✌🏻😊 ...pero syempre hindi naman lahat ng pilipino ganun.

Just a word of warning.Many American soldiers are actually Nigerian or African scammers living in cheap Youth Hostels with free internet, on a Student Visa in Malaysia.

base on my observation, some of us (Filipino) we are familiar some English words and later on understands some common conversations, but the real problem is when we are talking to foreigners, we don't clearly understand their accents.

Mas matututo talaga ang mga bata pag ganito mgturo ang teacher..,kahit english dapat ang subject eh kailangan parin i-explain ng tagalog para mas maiintindahan ng mga studyante..
