I have just been pushed out of a relationship I’ve had for 10 years. This video goes far to show me how to take things from now on. Also how I’ve been living my life wrongly up till now. I hope I can make it through as life is so difficult to live right now.

@badman231177 I'm truly sorry to hear about the end of your relationship, especially after such a long time together. Breakups, especially after long-term partnerships, can be deeply challenging. Remember, healing and understanding take time. Stoicism offers tools to navigate these tumultuous times, but be gentle with yourself. Do you think there's a specific Stoic teaching that could support you most during this period? Your journey and strength are important, and this community is here to support you. 🌟

Thank you. This gives me a new life path. At 83, I feel I found a new path which gives me a fresh vision of myself and a new starting, rather than just wait around to die. Even if I only get one step it might be enough to loosen a snowball at the top of a mountain that turns into an avalanche spreading the beauty of each individual flake of show on the valley below.

Your comment truly warms my heart. 🌟 It's never too late to embark on a new journey or gain a renewed perspective on life. Your analogy of the snowball turning into an avalanche is deeply poetic and resonates with the ripple effect one action or thought can have. Your openness to growth and learning, even at 83, is genuinely inspiring. What's one Stoic practice or teaching you're eager to implement or explore further? Let's continue this beautiful conversation. Blessings on your renewed path and thank you for sharing your wisdom with our community!

I'm finding great value in these recordings. They appeared in my feed, randomly, and now I make a habit of listening almost daily. The last decade crushed me down to the ground, and I've been rising back up for about 3 years now. I'm on a good path. Money is an issue and wages are very low. one of the subjects i hope to see one day covered is the difficulty of APPLYING stoic practices and discipline. and what i mean is how to start, how to maintain focus and momentum in the journey. the greatest analogies this channel talks about is when you ask for the viewer to picture a wildlife setting or a river with a boulder in it or something naturally occurring and understandable, and using that to reflect on how to be stoic. those are the greatest examples on this channel you don’t see enough of it on the internet. ❤

Am I seeing subliminal messages in the background? If so you don’t need to. The message its self is good enough. Great message! Thanks!

These methods to counter the collective insanity should be mandatory high school classes. I wish this was taught to me when I was 17. Instead, I had to take baking classes. However, I make a mean brownie.

I look forward to studying this more My gut feeling is that these guys were wannabe Sages (but were closer to smart summarisesrs or essayists) I feel I am hearing plargism and theft of ancient Wisdom wrapped up in Roman pomposity It's like trying to listen to the Blues but through the prism of white middle class english men like Jagger or Lennon This is not my definite statement on them, only my starting point or hunch (it is always cool to be proven wrong though----time will tell,or my own readings of ancient texts will tell)

Imagine an intelligent child taught by the most powerful Roman thinkers who then had the courage to commit his views to paper which ripple through eternity.

Stoicism is the root of the Twelve Step programs. Starting with gratitude (to God) for the gift of a new day (each day a new life in itself), an effort to do the “right thing@ daily in our interactions with people, places and things. A daily inventory at the end of the day and a closing at bedtime with a prayer of thanks for the blessings and grace we receive

Hey @peterj.fallon4327! Firstly, thanks for being a subscriber and for your candid feedback. It's understandable to feel that way-technology has its quirks! 😅 Sometimes, KZread can be a bit tricky. Make sure you have not only subscribed but also clicked the notification bell 🔔 next to the subscribe button. Additionally, it's a good idea to check your phone settings to ensure you have KZread notifications turned on. By the way, Bill Burr's rants on tech are legendary! 😂 Keeping our sense of humor is essential. What's your favorite Stoic technique for staying centered in such moments? Always great to hear from you!

@@stoicbond To stay in the present moment. My mother taught my bro & I when we were young ‘yesterday’s gone & tom’s promised to no one’ After getting another degree, this time in cardiac ultrasound, I change it to ‘if you get a blockage in your LDA-which perfuses the heart itself-analogous to a car engine immediately having every drop of oil removed -you’re effectively dead before your body even hits the ground’. Saying this with no emotion at all, just in a matter-of-fact manner, terrifies people!! Tho staying in the present takes CONSTANT practice as it goes against human nature for survival
