When you do the first gaurd mission after just becoming Radzigs sword, you walk around the town with a gaurd and at the very end he says "btw take this torch, it's illegal to walk around rattay at night without one" which I didn't get why we got punished but the citizens of rattay didnt

A good hint: Remember that you are not alone, and to report to your lords regularly

well regular cheese does not get better the older they get. Also in medieval cheese had white color sinc eyeloow cheese didnt exist yet. Did you notice that even this detail is in the game? Yes they really went that far with the detail

I was surprised by how good this game was. I wasn't that interested at all until I picked up the game and played it for myself. I didn't mind the slow start and Henry sucking at everything, it felt like a good book with good character development overtime.

For the first 15 hours I was frustrated that the game don't teach me anything. I found out about the skill unlocking system just before the fight against that big guy who stole Henry's father's sword, by reading comment under some gameplay

You won't care about the camera/1st person view, this isn't Witcher/Skyrim, please understand this. It's not a problem since it's how it's the way it was meant to be played.

First person view games are trash no immersion whatsoever

Pro tip: if combat feel difficult or you have to face a group of enemies, I recommend applying one of the poisons you can brew or get from herbalists in the forests on your sword and then try to open the fight by stabbing and try to cause bleeding, the opponents stats will be lower due to the poison effect and your fight will be easier ... you are welcome ;-)

this works with any other potion in the game ... if you wanna have a looong easy fight, put the healing potion on the blade and go fight some low level bandit, if you wanna fight with drunk opponents, put spirits on your blade, etc ;-)

Martin Strnad no, the bandits used it on me. I got hit once and my stats would go down even though my armor(basic) was better than theirs. I was wondering why henry was all of sudden weaker, poisoned swords make sense.

I just started playing, to escape talmberg I stole the set of armor, but on my way to the gate I was crossing the moat and thought to myself, couldn't I just jump off this and walk away? So I tried and it worked, I started to smugly saunter off thinking I'd cheesed the game when the guard shouted "The prisoner boy just jumped into the moat. You men down there stop him!" So I had to deck it to the woods, when I got away I had such a stupid grin on my face. This game is truly something special.

you can do this. I always did that and yesturday i tried something new. I stole the 2 shields in the guards place where they rest. I lock picked the chest and i got the full armor. After that i got into my stolen horse with my stolen armor and i exited the city as guard. Nobody chased me and it was faster escaping than on foot. I think u can jump out from there with horse.

I did jump off and got caught by a guard. Told the guard my story and he said "Push me, so I can have an excuse to let you run" and headed off. This game is utterly brilliant. Takes a completely different mindset to most other games though, as you really have to become the character and think about your responsibilities and involve "common sense"

i just knocked out a guard which had the most armor took it had a decent weapon and when i got to rattay i had armor a good weapon plus i stole a horse till i got pebbles

My 30+ hr protip is: You don't actually need to buy any food. After you get through the start of the game and are truly unleashed into the open world, you can just drop into shops or even private homes and eat the food they are cooking in the pots. And as you progress in the world and get better gear and get more skilled at combat (both you and Hal) you can easily kill loads of bandits, eat the stew they're cooking and loot the food they have on them (usually pretzels in my play through so far) for a just in case I feel like hunting all day snack.

Hahaha you're right about going into people's houses eating their food in cooking pots. Imagine going back to your house and wanting to eat your delicious stew that your wife made. But then suddenly, a knight with his crappy horse just come by, sprinted, barge in from your house, proceedly ate all of the stew while stating: "I feel quite hungry." and just casually rides off. The confusion and the horror you will experience and how it will hurt your brain on explaining this to the guards on what the commotion just happened.

Hah! You must be a normal player. Here in hardcore, pots reduce energy by 5 and barely increase nourishment (also by 5). Basically the worst thing you can eat. No offense though, normal is better than hardcore bc of fast travel (oml traveling by horse is a huge time sink) and being able to do the ruin questline in the day without getting gang raped by 5 bandits.

Another thing we've found out playing - stealth takedowns are *really* powerful. If a particular enemy is giving you trouble, sneak up on them, knock them unconscious and steal their weapons and armour. Or, just finish them off while they're asleep. It might even be *too* powerful... - Matt

I don't think the stealth mechanics are powerful. They are "normal". If you pick the enemies alone, of course you will finish everyone quickly, but not all enemies stays alone, just the occasional bandit that keeps watch. But for the enemies not see you, you will have to use light armor with darker colors or your visibility will fuck you, you will kill one and the others will see you. Plate armor is out of the question. And if you play only in stealth without leveling your strength, some enemies will resist your stealth takedown if they are not sleeping. The only problem is that the enemies are too weak. You only see 2~3 bandits in camps that you can finish quickly in stealth, but the mechanics per se are fine.

This game is actually really immersive, and yes the missions are buggy, lock picking is annoying etc... but as a whole this is one of the best RPGs of all time in gaming.

The start was pretty emotional and I didn't expect it. You feel helpless too cus you're so weak at the start, but it's so satisfying to slowly improve and see the results

Saving the game with Savior schnapps costs 100 Goshen, but Saving with a night at the inn only costs 2 Goshen. Save often.

Mr.Burek The only downside to this game is the poor animation. Facial especially. Completely breaks immersion when they all just look like talking machines

My tip is to avoid lockpicking when using a controller, unless you want to get a heart attack from anger, hopefully they will look into this asap.

Logitech G It's clearly designed for keyboard and mouse, i play this on console so untill it's been changed i'm staying away from lockpicking, it took me three hours to open the chest for armour to escape the castle, it's too much of a hastle.

I had the same issues at first. But lockpicking (at least the very easy and easy locks) is quite easy (i play on ps4) after a while. I recommend you to abort and restart the lock until the sweet spot is close to the middle, thats much easier. Afterwards its not so much about being super 100% accurate with the sweet spot but moving both sticks at the same time at medium speed. Doing it very slowly is the wrong way. In the end its practice you need. In this game its in not you as a player only, who needs training, its your character, because he is an average person.

Having tried both control methods I highly recommend playing with KBM over controller until the lockpick fix, that said, I found a method that really helps on control pad, place the control pad on your lap or desk and hold the anolog sticks between your thumb and index finger in each hand, I found it was much easier.

It is beautiful, the story is great, yes it is buggy, they did not have unlimited budget (around 10-15% of comparable titles). Lets hope that the sales they make will allow them to clean up the game and then make another like it.

Nope. They only financed 1 million $ through kickstarter. Most of the money comes from a privat investor. The rest of it was from the publisher Deep Silver.

the standard slash and block games like skyrim are fun, but the fighting is boring unless you are on a quest in my opinnion. this one is challenging which is nice

Got it on xbox one. So freaking fun. The perfect game for me. It is literally like Skyrim with the Witcher 3s graphics combined with a survival sim. It is so so cool.

Skyrim wasn't even that great when it came out. Its literally a devolved version of Oblivion except for the graphics. The story sucks, the quests are obsolete and a step down from pretty much any RPG, and the only reason it was 'popular' during its release was because it was literally the only decent, linear RPG you could get, during a time where people liked linear things (Call of Duty ect). Also, the expansive lore is a plus. It wasn't until they sold the game 4+ times that it hit good sales. Even then, the Witcher 3 out sold something that was released 4+ times. Its not a good game, only for those who have sub-par standards of RPGs. The modding community is what keeps the game alive, not Bethesda.

Love this game! Once you start to understand the game, it starts to really grow on you!

Somthing i found out kind of a spoiler. When you finally fight the man who stole your sword, it does not let you search his body. If you go back to the area not only is there chests to open, but if you go around the back of the building the fight happened in you can jump onto a bush and scale the wall. His body is up there with his armor and also there is a chest with 81 grochen. The area is locked off thats why im saying this. I was rewarded for thinking outside the box. His chest armor is worth 1.1k.

When fighting against groups always move around or try to get high ground, I know it may seem obvious but a friend of mine struggled with it. Remember you can't heal during combat

Love playing the Royal Edition, easier lockpicking, no bugs.

One of the best RPG experiences I've enjoyed in years. This game is SO good, but it can be daunting at first for sure. You learn as you go, just like Henry (the character you are playing).

Lol I remember when I first played there sa town with a plague and I'm suppose to cure it but instead I got sidetracked and forgot about it untill the end and when I came back more than half the town died and there was like 5 people left LOL

Remeber: don’t mess with huge companies of bandits, if you haven’t saved in a while DO NOT stop on the road to fight bandits, don’t wait too long completing the quest to heal Skalice wounded guys and the quest where you must heal Mrhoedy’s ppl, don’t mess with Hanush, Radzig and other noblemen. Also, if you want to snatch something from a chest at night right under someone’s nose, try choking them in their sleep. That might even work with quest characters. And also, this tip might spare you from unneeded difficult fights at times. Gotta fight someone strong during day? Don’t. Just kill him at night in his tavern bed. And finally, don’t rush through the story, enjoy every part of it and don’t cheat with godmode and all - it will just break all the immersion of the game. Enjoy it, hard parts, easy ones, boring and full-of-action moments, cause this game will definitely end faster than you expected or wanted to. And some quests cannot be completed after others. And DO NOT break the daily timetable in the monastery. Enjoy your new role for a while!

One of the best games I've played in a long time, it ranks up there with rock star games and the detail they add in their games.

Kingdom come deliverence is what I want to see in a mount and blade game

@@elang1702 now we're just waiting for the infinitude of Patches, yanno, for it to be *EVENTUALLY* top knotch.

When you begin the game, don't rush your way through the first objective. Before you do anything, walk around the fields, and pick up the plants you see. The traders in town won't all buy them, but some will. It will take a while, but by doing this I was able to acquire 180 groschen before I even bought the charcoal, and if you raise your herbalism to 10, you can get the leg day perk which gives you strength points for every time you pick plants. Good luck.

Read your quest log and it will give you helpful tips on how to take on a mission for instance. If you read the quest log for the first mission for your father Henry will have written that you should get the ale last as it will not be cold enough when you bring it to your father. He updates it every time you do something or even if you are taking to long on a certain task.

Well you didnt need to look in to quest log. The father litelary said to pick it up on way back and make sure its cold. Also I liked how I got thrown into jail at start and the invasion didnt wait for me there it all happened while I was well in jail.

This is the only game I played on 800x600 resolution, and hell, it doesn't even look that bad (depending on the time of the day). I pump up my resolution in fields etc, but in villages, I lower it. Game is a fking masterpiece, been following the development for 2 years and I almost started crying when I turned the game on lol

great vid heres my added tips.. 1. heavy armor + bow from melee range = OP 2. dustbin perk to allow u to eat spoiled foods makes life ez.. 3. early on ur given a q line to "kill camp leader" at bandit camp, DO THIS q line. It yields major gear upgrades and sellables which will trivialize money which inturn makes everything easy.. homes everywhere, unlimited savenols etc

That quest is particularly difficult if you are not outstanding at combat. Multiple well armored and strong individuals make it tough... BUT as usual, good ol' trust bow at close range to the face winds up taking them out in most cases lol.

Interesting style I like it, for me I just melee face bowd everything super easy, I noticed earlier only .09% of players had the sniper achieve. Which comes from like xx head shots, so I dont think a lot of people using bows, prob cause its hard as hell, however its not that hard to hit a guy from 1 inch from his face ^^

For the regular bandits, as long as you're not running around in a simple shirt, it's not that bad. Only the bandit leader has decent gear. I've destroyed the others in a few hits with a 275 groschen sword. Charge them and just whack them and run around the others. Bow users just required you to circle them then charge when they miss. Usually 2 - 3 hits causes them to concede or run away. The leaders, while better equipped, are still manageable if you're half decent at the combat system. There's always waiting until night time and killing him in his sleep.

had problem with those bandits too , but then i went practice with captain bernard, i lvl up quite a few lvls and quite fast, life got pretty easy

I will be playing this game for 2 years at least especially when the mods come out for this beautiful game. loving it!

I love how colorful this game is. It’s a nice break from the brown and gray games seem to love nowadays.

My tip - this is not a button masher combat system. More like; Press the attack direction and attack or defend button at the precise appropriate time - and press it only once then let the combat mechanics do their thing until its time to again press the attack direction and attack or defend button at the precise appropriate time. Button mashing will cause the combination to 'reset' or just not do anything at all. So if your combination attempts or defend / riposte attempts are not working - you are button mashing. :)

Aquaphile Tux what have you been watching lol, the Dialogue options tell roughly what the character will say so don't act like the response is so different it's unbearable, Guarantee that if you actually play it you will like it but until you actually put in the time to play it yourself then you have no place to judge the game.

How fast is the game for you guys? I got it for ps4.. and ITS SOO SLOW. THe loading for conversations, for buying stuff from traders, loading for saves. Half of all my kingdome come play time is literally WAITING!! Is it the same for u? THere is this online update i havent got around to getting, will it fix this?

I was going to trade the game back, but i decided to give it one last chance after downloading the update, and yes. The wait times have been cut in half, they are now managable at least!!

hang in there. it's still got many patches to go before it's perfect. they are working on improvements.

My advice: Get into Alchemy as soon as you can. You can produce savior schnapps in batches very early in the game at very, very, very little cost. Anyone using a mod for saving is just cheating since saving is really easy but made less frequent due to the cost, which is good, because it will make you actually feel way more immersed and make any decision feel weighty. Next advice: Deer has around 200 pieces of meat per deer. Meaning that if you kill a deer and sell its meat you will even at a very low selling price (miller) still get around 500 groschen per deer. Close by Neuheim there is a Inn, where the owner will also buy wild meat. So you can hunt in that forest and directly bring the meat to the owner. But dont get caught by the patrols in the woods. They certainly don't like you stealing that meat.

My tip- keep playing...In this game you can see progress every hour you play...first hours were dead, dead and dead but after 20 hours? No one can beat me :D Great armor, some skills and i can fight against 6 NPC alone (PC). Second tip- aim on the details...don't think about bugs. For example Fallout 4 has more bugs today, even after many many patches, then KC:D. This game has total new game system which has never used before in other games. Every NPC has own life and own decision making. Details of this game are so brutal so some bugs are irrelevant and important bugs will be fixed.

"Some bugs". You are right, I haven't seen any game-breaking bugs except one HUGE bug that really ruins everything for me. That thing where nothing loads its texture (NPC's, static objects). And even if the NPC finally loads his texture I already stopped talking to him and went somewhere else without ever seeing his true form. But in those rare times where I actually see the texture in the game, everything is so beautiful!

My tip is to keep an eye out for anything out of place and travel on foot most of the time you will find more loot such as graves so always carry a shovel on you or your horse and look around skalitz from time to time I always find something new I never saw the last time

Tip: Pick all the nettle you can find if you do nothing else at the beginning of the game. Do this before anything else. After you have picked so much (I don't know the exact amount) you'll recieve a perk called resistance. It will add a permanent +2 to your vitality. This counts towards your max stamina and stamina usage. Very helpful. As a side note I spent over 6 hours at the very beginning before I even did the making the sword quest picking every plant I could find in the village and taking the Herbalists perks. By the time it was done, I had an herbalist skill of 17 and from one of the herbalist perks my strength had risen to 3. I had bought every saviour schnapps that was sold by the normal merchants (not Bianca) and quite a few more things besides.

When sleeping/waiting, put in +1 hour, as the last hour takes so long to finish up, so you can just cancel that last extra hour

It takes about as long, maybe a bit less, but the last hour is a concealed loading screen. It’s usually pretty much the same, so it’s not worth.

this game is such a marvel! hope to see many more games trying to mimic this ones ways.

So glad I got this through PS+. It's really tough in the beginning but it gets a lot easier pretty quickly. It's such a cool game.

I have the number one tip for this game. At the start go to the sword training before you talk to your father then talk to your father. After that pick all the flowers you can find and sell them to the traders and buy everything the traders have, keep picking flowers and put them in the chest in the room where you start, the chest is still there after the proper game starts so you just have to quick travel back and fourth before you talk to the miller and put everything in the new chest in your room at the mill. I did this at the start and when the game finally started for real my herbalism level was 18 I had 300 Gershan and all the other stuff from the traders and i also had a few thousand of each flower in my chest.

Yes it has its glitches to the point it’s frustrating to play. But after finding out it’s a kickstarter game done on a very limited budget I’m more than amazed how good it is

One of my top tips is, if you’re on a quest and you’re struggling, it’s ok to go back to an earlier save and take more time and care to prepare for the quest before starting it again. I’ve had to do that a few times and it always worked out 👍🏻

A tip is not to rush the main quests, instead take side quests and train Henry so that he can face the tough enemies with ease when it comes to boss fights (like the one against Runt)

A useful tip, in the opening area of Skalitz even though the game tries to move you along with your father asking you to do his tasks asap, time seems to not move and I don't believe there is a time limit. I spent a good hour running around doing herbalism. It is boring but you can pick up 2-3 perks from skill ups and make enough money to buy a tailor kit, cobbler kit and armor repair kit.

As far as number 3 is concerned: Anyone who has any knowledge of fencing, whether it be olympic or HEMA, would have the general idea of how to use this system. For example, all I had to do was get used to the controls, and I was off killing armored mercenaries and selling all their gear for the big $$$. My advice is to utilize the thrust (stabbing people). As is fairly well known in the fencing world, the thrust is the most devastating, and deadly, attack one can make with a sword or polearm. Especially when it comes to European weapons. The European Longsword and typical arming swords of the time, were designed primarily for the thrust. That is why they aren't made with a big swooping curve in the middle like a Shamshir or Katana. The Cuman swords are definitely geared towards cutting (slashing at) the opponent. Anywho, in theory, the thrust is the hardest to defend against, and has the most probability to penetrate armor. It, in IRL anyway, is also a far more precise attack. In the game, you do have a limited ability to aim your thrust, however, and the quickest way to kill an opponent is usually a series of stabs to the face (especially considering that most people in game don't have a face covering on their helmets), which I like to call "sniping". Edit: Also, from what I can see of everyone's gameplay footage, everybody seems to be obsessed with playing without a shield! To be quite honest, nearly everyone in the middle ages would have chosen to use a shield, and for good reason. It helps to protect you, as well as opens many opportunities to attack. If you are out their roaming the Bohemian countryside looking for a life of adventure and riches, then for Christ's sake, take a damned shield with you!

This game is on my wishlist since Kickstarter... can't wait for a sale to grab it!!

Pro tip: Struggling for hours to get guard armor to sneak out of the castle halfway through the prologue? The, uh, the drawbridge has like a two-foot drop into the village. Sigh.

Love this game. Definitely my best advice is to train as much with the captain as possible, learn defense moves, and learn to use the combos in battle!!! They will turn the fight to your favor, even if you're outnumbered.

My best advice i see nobody mention is you should mostly drink alcohol for nourishment. it's free xp towards drinking which can give you some really great buffs and perks. i also keep dried meat and cheese on myself if my nourishment gets low and i don't want to overdrink. but it's free xp towards your main level as well. you can kinda xp farm by drinking a ton, sitting on a bed and reading overnight. Also get the mutt. fights for you, makes 1v1s a joke, he can automatically farm your houndmaster and hunting skill at the same time by telling your dog to hunt hares while you stand there and just loot the rabbits he brings. everytime you feed yourself give your dog a piece of meat and praise it. doing so will make you fly through houndmaster levels. you can't spam treats or praise but if you do it in intervals same as when you feed yourself you'll get massive xp. learn to read as soon as you get your horse. keep a spade on your horse at all times. launder money with your bedroom chest. pay the 200 at an inn to get a permanent bedroom and a chest linked to your 'bedroom chest network'. Best way to offload stolen goods so they can't be confiscated. You used to be able to hide them on your horse but guards find those too now.

Actually drinking beer was a common thing among surfs in the medieval times.

Tip: If you have some time on your hands, make sure to set aside a couple of hours to properly level up your skills in a certain weapon. This also goes with defense etc. It will definitely help you out in the later stages of the game.

Heavy armor with bow in melee range is op. Use trees, carts and other barriers like doorways to fight one on one when taking on large groups and lineup easy head shots.

I just picked this game up recently, and despite a couple of tiny issue, it is amazing. And not for casuals.

The mystical fire sword "dragon breath" the best weapon in the game is located in the stream during the first mission.

Henry died today from savour snaps poisoning... 😥😭

The one things I wish more people knew is that Henry is a no one good for nothing peasant, that's why it is hard for him (and therefore for you) to lockpick or fight among other things. Practice the skills that you want to get better at and stop whining and asking the devs to dumb down the game.

It is really the dogs danglers I love it, and looks absolutely stunning.

Best combat tip I can give is be patient and be aware of other enemy's. I normally wait till they attack so I can counter them using a perfect block then attack if its not too risky. This also comes in handy when there's a archer trying to shoot you while u having a fight, u can easily put your enemy in the way of the bow and then when u done, u can side step u way to the archer and get a few hits in

In my game I’m playing Henry as a peasant who has obviously lost so much yet been given so many opportunities that he is now Ser Radzig’s page. He hasn’t been trained for the job and isn’t the typical heroic knight. He tries to be as honorable and chivalrous as possible but he’s also trying to secure a future for himself and his future family. And sometimes he has to lie, cheat, and murder to do so. Obviously as someone who sees themself as the good guy this torments him and he knows that he is slipping deeper and deeper into sin. He’s just a step away from being a bandit but he’s fighting with everything he’s got from taking the easy path. How are you playing your Henry?

Yyr69 Not at all. I choose my quests based on what I think Henry would do. For instance, after you recover and owe the miller/apothecary groschen that Henry doesn’t have and probably never would Henry took the thiefs quest to pay back the miller for saving his life. He found it extremely distasteful and vowed never to do another job like it ever again. He paid back the apothecary eventually with money he had looted from bandits.

I play psycho Henry murder steal do anything to get myself wealthy and powerful... I play every game like that :D

My biggest tip is TRAIN, train and train. You are a blacksmiths son, not a warrior or knight Henry has no real idea how to fight. Also learn to read, doing this will help you later in game. Don't try to steal everything, it will damage your rep to the point you need to pay people to even listen to you, merchants baliff ect(friend went stealing and ended up woht -99 rep now he needs to pay like 300 gold to even talk to people)

If your playing hardcore and having trouble navigating the map. In rattay you can start the bird quest with the huntsman/bow guy and when you drop the birdcages he gives you it shows where you are on the map.

My Advice would be when you get to Rattay actually dedicate a fair portion of time to training with the Guard Captain. You'll get block and perfect block as mentioned here, but you'll also learn how to evade attacks, how to riposte, he can teach you some combination moves, show you how to fight with other weapons, your skills will increase as you train with him, and it's real combat experience, so it's a chance to actually fight without risking death. I see people talk about multi person fights being challenging, and they are, but while a lot of people I've seen get slaughtered by them early on, dedicating a lot of time to the experience let me actually hold my own and win these fights relatively easily. Who knew that actual training and experience would matter in a fight eh?

Top game. The combat is brutal at the beginning and I hear this is why many rage quit but if you did I would recommend you get through it because it is a fantastic experience and you do eventually get better. Even though we have people comparing this to TW3 aside from the setting it's not even close. The only annoyances are running away when you have 6 people all fighting you at the same time can be a real pain because the game always tries to lock onto one enemy at a time and your stamina for a long time will not be enough to get away. You need to call your horse, mount it with speed and hope they don't have horses as well lol. Also annoying when you ride into town and everywhere is closed and you can't find anywhere to sleep. You can try sleeping in a barn but you are usually caught. One more thing. Archery in this game is hard. You don't get any kind of reticle and for the early part you'll find you are missing by a mile but know that you can actually retrieve your arrows as this was the mistake I made on the Boar Hunt was not knowing you could find and retrieve your arrows. Understand though you really have to look for them as they don't just glow or show up as icons. To be truthful everything in this game is a slog and it's like your character is learning it for the first time but I think that was the point to give you the feeling that you are not the most important thing in the world and up until recently you were a lazy son of a blacksmith.

powerlevel swordsmanship, then do captain bernards bandit quest. you get super good high tier loot early in the game.

I found the game to be a lot of fun...after I used cheats to duplicate the shit out of the Savior Schnappes item to allow me to save whenever I wanted.

runs fine on my pc. 16gb of ram i5 3570k and a msi gtx1070 overclocked BUT I do get stuttering and occasional freezing which i cant figure out how to fix.

Another way to get some groschen is to loot the bodies of people when you stumble across fighting groups in the wild. If the winners are guards they wont attack you if you come up unarmed (weapons away) and you can loot freely. If the parties are all enemies (bandits, or Cumans) , wait until the fighting is over then either take down the remaining NPC's, or wait until they get bored and move on (use the advance time feature here) and stay off the beaten track and out of sight until they have gone. Use 1hr time advance lots until they leave. Be prepared to save in case things turn to crap ;-)

My tip? Have patience. This "realistic" game style seems to be pretty new to most people. That means most of the things in the game are experimental and buggy, and the game is poorly optimized. The studio isn't exactly gigantic, so I imagine they don't have the workforce to patch A LOT of bugs in a short time.

And here's a gameplay tip. Steal stuff, then get the hell away from town and dump the stolen goods somewhere safe (your trunk by your bed). Cuz guards WILL demand to search you, and they'll do it more frequently the more you steal. If they find the stuff you stole, they're surely going to confiscate it. Unless your persuading stats are high enough, a good way around this is to stick to the main quest line til you get a horse (or steal one, it's possible but I haven't done that). Then whenever guards come hollering at you, dump all the stolen stuff into the horse inventory. Those grumpy suckers won't find a thing. You can sell the stolen goods to fencers. Ordinary traders would rip you off if they recognize stolen items. You can trade with fencers after doing stuff about a certain ring relating to some millers.

This game was released in an almost unplayable state, (at a full retail price of $60) but there have finally after half a year been enough patches (1.6.3 on PS4) that I’ve started again. You still must constantly delete old saves (try to keep no more than 5 or so) on consoles or you will eventually break the save system and there are still some smaller bugs that may require reloads but the game breaking stuff seems fixed and I’ve been having a blast.

I loved the Witcher 3 so much I bought and read the books (on book 4 right now), and I still love KCD just as much if not more. Why do people have to pick one or the other? They're both elite modern RPG's.

I can't pick a god damn lock in this game to save my life. I'm on console. I regret it solely for that reason.

Seems (according to interviews with Dan Vavra) that developers will embed (once embedded but finally omitted) "quit and save" feature, at least on PCs - make save before quitting, when loading (some time later), save will be deleted. Well this feature can be (and will be) exploitable too but make possible saving the game when going away from PC. But, there are a lot of "interesting places" in the woods where you can sleep (and save), it might be sufficient.
