It’s just my opinion but I’m in Australia so all trips are sooooooo far. If you’re in America you are truly blessed to be so close to Europe. Good luck.

You should also visit in christmas. Its amazing but really cold!!! Edit: alot of people think greece is hot and warm. Thats true... in the summer. Northern greece can reach -20°C in the winter

I'm planning to visit this coming January is it worth it to visit? How's the weather like that month?

Hello mate, glad you liked my birthplace! I would definitely suggest also going to a cafeteria near Eptapyrgio for a panoramic view and to Kalamaria's marina for food and coffee. Generally we have very good coffee shops (and very cheap too) and we like it a lot to sit near good view places to enjoy it. A tip I would give you is to avoid night walks at the western part of the city if you are alone (especialy if you are a girl) because there is high criminal activity, for example the Train cemetery is in Diavata is a very dangerous place especialy at night. If you stick to downtown and to the eastern part it is very safe, the worst neighbourhoud is called Dendropotamos which is a ghetto basicaly.

The cafes around the the white tower aren't really touristy. Locals go all the time

One good place to visit, traditional village is Arnaia very good is Taksiarxis (the road to this village is amazing passing thru the forest and good view to the 3 legs of peninsula ). Generally Halkidiki is beautiful place and have the best beaches and i have visited a lot place in Greece.

I live in diavata... The village next to the trains .... I gotta say u were lucky ma dude . In those trains there are junkies and shit like that... Was kinda suprised that u went to west thessaloniki cuz its very deprived .. but after all great vid man

Never been to that part of Greece. But you Should check out Crete. It's much more traditional...there's a fish market, outstanding restaurants, and other markets. You can even take a day hike down to a beautiful white beach (need to start very early). Or snow skiing on the highest mountain...in the early summer. Fly in, or on a cruise ship.

Hahahha I am swedish and i love this town. thought i was the only crazy one but see you on train sematary gave me a lot of laughs. I have to buy gyros and go the and eat. Only i am i scared of snakes. Its Eftapyrgion Not Heptapyrgion. Whatever you see H first take it away. German thing and they love the H sound. Remanind them the arabic sound in their language. Anyway the City has some caind of magnetism, erotism, It mesmerizes one to easily open all the senses and just escape to a magical atmosphere, it keeps you calm, cool, calm and hungry on more exploration. You have to spend the evening in Aristotle's square to feel the first wave of feeling in the midst of all being .... the safety most of all. That makes you feel one with the City. @@macedonianetymology4069 do you even realise that Thessaloniki is a name . 2 it's because the solntse is translated in you language that doesn't mean it's the same in Greek and third Slavik languages is only 1000 years old while thessaloniki existed more that 5000 years old .Taking words giving them meaning and then claiming doesn't mean anything especially in your language..and solntse is is Russia word for sun so ones again it's proves that when Thessaloniki existed Slaves didn't even existed

reading the comments I might have to go back and give it a shot. It was my least favorite city. Pickpockets on the overcrowded bus from the airport and the same evening trying to be ripped off €10 on my dinner change.

Thessaloniki is the place to go for unique recipies. You can taste Greek Hebrew Asian and European dishes if you have time to walk around. It is also the place where the first American burger house opens back in 1975 named Goody's.

I was born and living in Thessaloniki. This city is a good place for tourists to stay for 2-3 days, for univercity students to stay 3-4 years but to live and work here for all of your life is a "punishment". It's a dirty, ungly city without transpotation and rising crime level especialy at nights with policemen who want but can't help.

My friend i live there and i have to say "not so many" (for now..i don't know about summer since i go to my village)... i see germans or some slavs (maybe from the Balkans since its close) Hispanic people I think go to the islands of greece ...But greek to many foreigners has a spanish sound so this is something 😂😂😂😂
