I've cleaned airbnb's for a living and it made me switch to a different way of making my own bed at home - when I get out of bed..instead of pulling the covers up...I throw them BACK two thirds of the way. This way it airs the sheets out to release any humidity from sleeping bodies and it still looks neat & tidy. You can alway pull the covers back up to the pillows later in the day if you wish to. I feel this to be more hygienic.

I grew up in a house where every day after dinner the kitchen sink was "scoured out", kitchen floor was swept and all beds made every morning. I never knew there was an option not to!

That's wonderful! It's so much easier if you grow up with these habits already in place. I grew up in a home that was much more relaxed, so I didn't start consistently practicing many of these things until adulthood.

I grew up with hoarders. And now I'm displaying the same behaviours. I really wish I grew up with cleanliness, it's hard to keep up with now that I am older. But I won't stop trying 😅

First tip: Throw back the sheets to let them air out BEFORE making it up. Who wants wrinkly clothes? Just put them away out of the dryer. Save yourself the work and sweep at the end of the day. Forgot about taking out the trash.

@@ArtfulHomemaking Yes☺️ I got the taking out the trash daily from "Grandma and Grandpa Griffiths" KZread channel on one of her house cleaning videos. (That's one of my struggles. Taking out the trash on a daily basis!) And the sweeping at the end of the day is from my own personal experience with having my own daycare in my home for 12 years. I just saved myself the constant sweeping, knowing it would get messy sooner than later, and just do it at the end of the day.😘 💕💐 Happy Mother's Day 💕

A new subscriber I try to do a pattern daily and weekly, I even have three different each month . On the 10’s. The tenth twentieth and the thirtieth . All those things help. We have to Fold clothes as they come out of the dryer. There are only three of us in the house now. Mr. and myself are in our 60’s and we have a 30 year old son with autism with us. We get more done than some and less than others.

I struggle with this daily because I have adhd I don't keep my house organized and clean and neat I'm an very messy person how can I focus on keeping my house clean and neat my parents own the house I live in and I have lived here alone for along time I found that I find keeping my apartment clean is sometimes overwhelming for me to do especially when sometimes I forget to keep my house clean any advice

  • @ArtfulHomemaking

I know it can be such a struggle. The main thing that helps me when I feel like my house is out of control is to declutter. Declutter until it feels easier to manage. As someone has said, "you can't organize clutter." Keeping things simple and decluttered can make a huge difference in being able to keep the house clean. One of the most inspiring channels for decluttering is The Minimal Mom: kzread.info Also, I know a lot of people find watching clean-with-me videos motivating. Sometimes just watching someone else clean can inspire a desire to clean! FlyLady's "Sink Reflections" book may be helpful, or "How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind" is also a helpful book. Hope that helps!

I have not been diagnosed but I think I have it too. One thing that has helped me was writtting a weeckly housekeping schedule: I made a list of everything I had to do every week Then I put them in a different week day accordingly to my availability. I don't always do them in the designated day and some weeks I don't do everything but If I get busy and forget, I have that written plan and choose the most important tasks only.
