Just more kindness overall and assuming people have the best intentions until proven otherwise. I’ve been keeping for nearly 30 years and some of my husbandry had become outdated. When I went in to try and update I was met with a lot of nastiness until I found a kind corner of the internet. I want the best for my pets but it’s hard to talk to people who aren’t willing to be kind to imperfect keepers.

I bought a veiled on impulse and learned immediately after I should not have done that as a first time reptile owner. I delved hardcore into all the care that these delicate creatures require, and created what I think is a zoo quality vivarium for her. I thank you SO MUCH for all of these videos! The morning/evening misting video was SO helpful, and really appreciated the diet variety, taste/nutrition video. This community is so great!

Long time reptile owner here (snakes, lizards, turtles), I've had Jacksons and Veiled Chameleons in the past. I've been looking to get back into them again, starting with Jacksons, and loving your content so far. Don't be discouraged by what other people are doing, you do you and your time will come! Subscribed and will be continuing to watch your videos to refresh my memory BEFORE I purchase my Jackson pair, to breed eventually (two separate tanks). Love seeing your tanks, giving me some ideas to get setup soon! Keep up the good work, you're doing great IMO.

I appreciate all of the education you give us. I saw one recently at PetSmart and I fell in love!! I do want one, but it's really expensive to set up. One day I will have one. I'm thinking about a rescue. What is your opinion on that? Thanks!!

Rescuing can be a great option! Most rescues do have some sort of health issue or require vet visits so please make sure you are knowledgeable about what they would require. Also I do have great chameleon kits which can make the set up a bit more affordable: www.neptunethechameleon.com/chameleon-kits

More captive bred bugs are available, at least in the US. The problem here is the individuals breeding them don't really advertise them well or at all. I have 2 huge colonies of grasshoppers I've been keeping for about 3 years now. I got them from a well known guy in the monitor community that has a business selling them. If you're not in the monitor community you've probably never heard of him though.

Pet shops who sell you a chameleon and happy to let you take it home before you have the right enclosure set up. Can you do a video on light meters and what meters you recommend? Or what to avoid ? I’m confused by the big difference in price between ones that have reptiles on the meters or a cheaper meter that has all the same frequencies it measures but it cheaper because it’s not branded for chameleons

I have plans to do an indepth video on solarmeters but until here are the 3 solarmeters that are for sure safe to use: joshsfrogs.com/sp/josh-s-frogs-model-6-5r-reptile-uv-index-meter-slrmtr54928, www.amazon.com/dp/B01GT4EQYG?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzclari071-20&creativeASIN=B01GT4EQYG&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.3O75E57RVWGRY&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d_qv_asin, and you can use the solarmeter 6.5R.

I have been saying for ages, more animals does not always equal more/better knowledge, sometimes it's quite the opposite, if you knew more about them you would have less of them.👍

I hope u r able to actually answer a question, I honestly don't feel comfortable getting an answer from people who are not familiar with veil/ chameleon, I bought live plants pothos , spider and 2 other tropical but she tends to eat this one and I see inside the green leaf it's juicy clear kinda like a aloe but it's not , I'm not sure if I can send an image but I'm gonna try

I would try to determine what kind of plant it is to figure out if other keepers have experience with it.

You can get them from outside as long as they don't have sap or are pine. You will need to sanitize them before putting them into an enclosure: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g6uB3K9vitjgoMo.html

I had gotten a juvenile veiled chameleon from a local pet store and was sold a small zoo med kit I knew from the start I wasn't keeping her in that tiny box but I felt so bad she was living in store in a even smaller enclosure ment for geckos but I got different substrate and live pothos for her along with a dripper and some feeder crickets wax worms and dubi roaches for the first month I and currently making my own 6x3x2 enclosure out of angle aluminum and pet safe screen held it all in place with Velcro on the outside of the enclosure so her little toes don't get stuck in the Velcro and I can take off individual screens to clean im using a storage tote without the lid for the planter and substrate bin I'll layout a layer of screen on the bottom and put a drip pan so i dont have to worry about flooding from the dripper also thinking about putting a drain spout so everything is hidden and i dont have to disturb her to clean altogether cost without tools 200 only 50 dollars more than the death kit i was sold glad its only a holding tank for now
