    These are hitting home for me, lately I feel like my entire personality has been a sort of autopilot-cover up from my actual personality and that I'm very misunderstood and don't even like myself. It's all kind of pitted on wanting a significant other, but never having one. I'm aware this makes it so that I'm not exactly ready for a relationship, but I've been super dragged down and stressed, and I can't stop thinking about the people I'm in love with (one of them is 2D, lmao) but like this stuff sucks

  • @jordan8318

    Having a partner or getting in a relationship will not help it may give you some temporary happiness but once your still choosing to love them through hard things you’ll end up coming back to this feeling over and over wanting to fight for what’s good for you but then not really knowing. Having a partner that also wants to fight for you is amazing but those moments when they’re fighting for themselves and their needs you tend to become lost all over again.. I’m in that position rn

    Gonna be honest: I teared up watching this video... I related to this in every way & never even knew it. 1. *You tend to copy others:* Not necessarily this, but my own version of other's projects while trying to find my own originality. 2. *You're a people pleaser:* I hate disappointing people, so I know this all-too-well, even to my own detriment, especially in terms of my health. 3. *You let yourself be defined what others think of you:* I try not to, but 2018 taught me a lot about what others truly thought about me, which is why I've become so defensive. 4. *You attract drama into your life:* I do videos on auto racing... That's a given sadly. 5. *You give your power to someone else:* ... My ex-boyfriend, who's still my roommate & whom I still care for very much... but lately I found out he thinks I'm clingy... even after our mutual split & him now dating someone else... 6. *You procrastinate:* I had always thought of procrastination as a fancy term for laziness. I never thought of it as putting things off due to being hesitant. That does define me because I do fear failing & disappointing other people... Guess that explains my so-called clinginess. 7. *You justify your actions:* Not just your actions but your thoughts & how you feel about things. Recently my comments reactions videos were chastised for me having to justify my thoughts & how I feel about things... Also recently I made the bed for my roommate & I, putting everything on it & I had to justify it as a way to conserve body heat because it was cold the previous night. The thing is... if I haven't been true to myself, then who have I been?...

  • @Ultimate23Dragon

    @Ultimate23Dragon

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@nightangalesweet9239 I'm apart of the NASCAR KZread Community & have been for many years. In 2018 newer content creators started a podcast of sorts that is now known as the NASCAR Weekly Podcast. In May, the original cast added a new member named Darian & that's when the trouble started. For 6 months, without me knowing, I was basically a target of Darian & one of the original members named Jaret, & soon after others as well. The audience just ate it up & I had no clue about any of it until someone had asked me if I had heard of Darian... Then in November I found the podcast & reviewed past episodes & realized how bad & stupid it really was. It really p!$$ed me off! I made a video calling out Darian & the show & correcting their lies with the truth & how I felt on things... & it ends up being my 4th most disliked video ever, with the other 3 being videos from years ago. To this day it also has the second most views among all the videos I posted in 2018. I had no idea that people felt the way they did about me. Here I thought a few people saw me as "The NASCAR on FOX hater with the annoying voice." Nope, turns out I was nothing but everyone's punching bag & according to most of the community one of the least popular KZreadrs in the community. People looked for any & all possible reasons to hate or hate on me. Some people have seen how bad Darian really is since, but it doesn't take away from the fact that nothing I say or do will convince others to see how *I* feel about things. It's gonna take others messing up before people _finally_ see my perspective on things.

  • @richardmattocks
    @richardmattocks3 жыл бұрын

    I spent 9 years being a people pleaser for someone I really thought cared about me.... over the 2020 lockdown I had time to reflect and realise the truth... that they didn’t care a damn about me. As I worked through it (6 months of daily self reflection and counting) I realised how crazy I was and felt so stupid for all the things I did. Ironically, in many ways, as I improve my mental health, my life has got worse because all the little lies I told myself or excuses I made for others behaviors towards me that I excused are all now visible as total nonsense and thus the full sadness that actually no-one that I know actually cares is really hurting. On the plus side, knowing that means I can move on from them and work to improve myself without their negative drag.

People pleaser, I know my limits and I know how to put myself over others when need be. 3. How others see me is important but it's not THAT important. I care what they say but I am me and nothing can change that. 4. Attracting Drama, unfortunately I live around them so kind of difficult to get away, but when I do, I don't. Though I do resolve them, I find it fun at times. 5. Give power to others, I give power to those I trust (trusted) because I am unsure or I want them to have little power. 6. I don't relate to this but my former friend does, he would copy me on my ideas, names and even possibly my outfit. Also, he denies everything I say so he wouldn't be embarrassed by the aftermath. He does manipulate people to get on his side like my friends to use it against me. If I would give him important advice like reflectance or morals but he would just ignore it. When I ask him to stop copying me. He would just agree and ignore it afterwards. While I was trying to solve the problem with his sister, he would lie about how he forgot to ask me when it happened 7 times already. He even plagiarize his community into thinking it was his idea when it was originally from me. I wish I never became friends with him.

    The sad part to me about this video is I need to hear it 14 years ago. I've never done what I've wanted to do because I always looked for validation. When I was a kid, my teachers would ask me what I wanted to do when I grew up. I would say things like "I want to be a radio host" or "I want to be a video game tester" and they would say like "Oh, I wouldn't do that, they don't make enough money" or "You can't earn a living playing video games" ( boy were they wrong about that second one ). So I kept finding things and saying them until one day they said "That's great! You'll earn a lot of money that way". And that's how I've been living my life. I did the things that other approved of, mostly because of money. I don't hate the work I do, but I find it boring, it is not something I'm super passionate about, and I wish I could do something else. Now I have student loan debt, and a lot of it. So to me, dropping everything and doing something else seems impossible, which leaves me stuck here. Is it miserable? No. Do I wish I knew who I was and what I truly wanted. Moral of the story, don't blame yourself if you ended up chasing someone else's idea. It won't hurt you, but you will feel this itch, a burning itch that you haven't scratched and won't scratch until you chase it. Or, everything will itch, and you won't know what to scratch. Whatever you do, there is no failing. When Yoda says "Do or do not, there is no try", the "do not" part is okay, that's the typical "I failed doing" but you didn't fail, you just didn't accomplish the task yet, and that's okay!

    Really? I did what I wanted to do initially and ended up broke, no career, living with my parents, and just being an all around unfulfilled and unaccomplished jackass. I wish i had people tell me what you where told. Being “true” to yourself sounds nice and empowering on paper, but before indulging in emotional gratification, what exactly are you being “true” to? Unless you’re a perfect person who isn’t prone to making mistakes, it’s not exactly inherently sound advice.

    2:29 When I was younger, my family was big and weird, and we had a family of cousins to share under one roof, my grandparents helped by housing all of us, parents included, my father was… violent and very problematic, he once brought a gang of people to the front of our house and the police had to get involved. I don’t know why, but at some point, I thought it was best to adopt the "Weird and annoying" personality, as a way to deflect the problems of the family, or perhaps, it was a coping mechanism to tell my parents and grandparents, "Hey! This one is extra weird, but good weird! He’s okay, and getting straight A’s.". Drama was a constant "filter" in my life, and it didn’t help being an introvert plus having a more adult-ish attitude; never got in trouble, was responsible for my age, and helped out the teachers and students, I basically had zero interest in the common things people have in school and as such, socially distant from conversation, I only talked a lot with my family, as even back then, the only real thing I valued was that: *Family.* This came back to bite me though as, one, my family told me "good job" with the grades thing, but that’s it, they’d bring it up not often, so my grades never really meant anything to me, two, I didn’t have that many likes or dislikes, I was a child, so I didn’t think much at all, so I just played and acted like one, so those two together made me focus on the only thing that existed in my life: my family and its problems, reflecting in my attitude of the "Annoying and weird older brother". I don’t know what I am outside of my family, I don’t even know if I *can* exist outside of my family, as they are the only reason I find a reason to be alive in the first place, I find no other reason to be alive in the first place, no one chooses to exist when they are born, after all…
