7 Strategies for Being a Better Listener | FRIDAY FIELD NOTES

In this week's FRIDAY FIELD NOTES, Ryan Michler tackles the often-unspoken side of communication-the receiver's role. He unpacks the concept of a 100-100 approach, where both parties carry equal weight in ensuring the success of a conversation. He explores how being aware of the intended outcome can shape our understanding and responses, and why it's crucial to set personal and time boundaries for a respectful and fruitful dialogue. As he dissects these responsibilities, he also addresses the need to actively strive for comprehension rather than feign ignorance, shedding light on how these practices contribute to more meaningful interactions.

I think this is a topic that needs to be addressed and analyzed much more frequently and deeply. This is one of the most important topics for personal success as well as contribution to the community and family. Greetings from Germany.

I've been practicing this kind of listening this month. I haven't had that kind of conversation with anyone since I was a kid and it's such an amazing feeling, giving attention is a way to connect. The thing is, It seemed like I was to get bored or something to just listen and ask what the other person feels and it is totally the contrary thing, people feel listened because you are truly listening to what they have to say. 👋🏼

Bible is a firm foundation to stand on, but you are right if someone doesn’t look at the Bible or God as the authority then they won’t value or understand your point. Don’t cast pearls before swine.
