A second channel was a brilliant idea and I'm greatly looking forward to seeing more videos here! Thank you Charles!
What a time to be alive
Wow! This dude is one of the most bass players of all times! I mean, one of the most!!!
This guy is going to be recognized!
when he said there is a fill at the end of the phrase i don’t know why i’ve expected a 100 notes tapping fill :)))
That Davie don't even n share his bass knowledge with us... Thanks for opening this channel.
Great lesson! If some constructive criticism is fine then I think it would be nice to add the chords in the backing track along with the drums to put the bassline into harmonic context for newer players. Also if you choose to incorporate said backing tracks into future videos then choosing to share them to KZread viewers would provide us something more to practice with to come up with our own basslines! Excited to see where the channel will go :)
This video could happily be followed up by both theory on a lower level (what the bass is a 5:th?) and higher level (how to Charles), and I for one would watch them instantly!

5 th is fifth interval, seven semitones (frets) between the notes For example fifth of e chord will be b, for d chord will be a , etc.

@@Roberto-nn6kb It was an example of what a more beginner focused video could include, not a question 😊
Don't even play bass anymore but Charles is the GOAT and deserves the subs on this channel too!! Real talent should get paid better
It is great to see one of the best bass players in the entire world sharing how to make magic from beggining. This channel is going to be a real succes im sure and most important its going to chage lives.
i cant wait to put these tips into practice! Berthoud ol' chap, your a diamond. i've made notes an found a list of common chord progressions to work with. time to rock some socks!
Happy to be here from the first video. I'm waiting to find out how you do that double slappy thing.
Hello new channel! Great idea, doesn't dilute your existing channel, makes it easier for actual bass newbs like me to find the more technical stuff 👍🤘
That white bass on the wall is my fav out of all of em there
Lessons from the Master! Composition is the most interesting aspect of music imo.
dude a tapping tut video would be so awesome. I'v listened to a couple of your songs and it looks so fun
i've been following this channel since 97 great job as always!
Never subscribed to a channel this fast in my life
thank you, Charles, this helped a lot
Yes ! Love this video ! More please !
You are the best, Charles. 🎉❤
AND SO IT BEGINS!!!! YAY! I'm so glad you started this :)
Great Tutorial! you always give me some sort of Inspiration when ever I watch one of your videos.
Thanks! The multi-layered theme is explained very clearly step by step. You have good teaching skills.
This guy is good! Underrated channel!
Wow!! This has to be the best bass tutorial I've ever seen! Subbed!. You took the text right out my writing
It seems incredible that you start with this electric bass channel, it will be of great support, and rest assured that you will have my support if possible, Charles, thank you very much
Charles, I am extremely grateful for your work and leading the bass culture to new realms. You are one of my favorite bassists of the 21st century!!!
I thought Charles was a guest, then thanks to the comment section, I know it's just his second channel. Subbed and hope you get the subscribers you deserve.
i first watched this video nearly 2 months ago, and i swear your bassline hasn't left my head since. you clearly know your stuff
Im starting a band and we will begin composing, this will help me A LOT
Excellent. Very simple but complete at the same time. I love it
Damn this lesson is pure gold! Simple, effective, and potentially producing beautiful songs. I can't wait to try it out! Thank you very much! ❤
Daamn Charles you are one of the most talented people ever. I just bought a 5 string ibanez and it sounds absolutely amazing!
I think this is THE most useful tuto i've ever seen (and i watched a lot, many of them very good too!).
That progression you're using is something I've been playing from the beginning. It's a super common progression, making it a good choice.
Graet tutorial ! As guitarist who need to record some bass lines sometimes, I'm really excited with this channel ! Thanks !!
Gonna follow this channel hope I get better
Hello Charles thanks for this great lesson very clear and instructive Phil
Good quality lesson. I'll be referring back to it, i predict
This is so cool! You're a great teacher! Looks like I'll be digging out my bass tonight after work
Great video and tutorial, very comprehensive, even for those who don't understand and speak English fluently like me. Thanks for your job.
This channel is off to a great start!! Can't wait to follow closely
I think I got to be subscriber 200. Look forward to the lessons!🤘
Thank you. For serious, thank you. You're the man, and you share the how's n why's of how you do it. Bravo.

I've been waiting for this with so much entusiasm, i'm sure your lessons will give me the last steps to become a PRO BASSIST !!!
Great to be here on day one. I predict this channel will hit a million subscribers. 😉🎸
I write baselines every week. I’ll never remember it use them but it’s fun to keep up with it for decades on end.
Thks Charles !! May the bass be with you
Congratulations on the first vid of many to come! It was nice following along on my *guitar* hehe
👍🏼 There’s not many bass teachers doing these types of videos/lessons. I’d love to see more examples… specifically it’d be great if you took an existing guitar part and then wrote bass for it explaining the theory/approach/thought-process of why you choose certain notes/rhythm/etc.
Great lesson man👍. Thank you
Thank you Charles for this new channel. I think it's time to pick up my old bass again and have some fun once more.
Exciting man! Can't wait to see more!
Highly useful, thanks a lot!
wow, i am super stoked for this channel man. youre def one of my top bassists. keep on slappin'
Awesome lesson! Thx Charles. I'm loving this channel already.
Thanks a lot for this new channel, Charles. You're the best! ❤
Can't wait to see everything you do here! I always thought of bass as just a thing you needed to be in the background somewhere, but not too loud, and definitely not drawing attention to itself. You made me question my choice of instruments, and made me look at music in a completely different way.
great video dude! exited to see more in the future.
Very nice and easy-to-understand tutorial. Thanks for sharing 😮😮😮
Looking forward to the content. Keep it up, Charles!
Oh this channel is going to be so good! Thank you for this. You have so much skill, I look forward to learning what you have to teach.
Great going Charles. Looking forward to many more videos
Love how easy you relayed music theory components to track in this process. Love the video and he concept of the new channel. Looking forward to future content.

Thank you so much 4 creating this channel, greetings from México master!
Great vid dude! Thanks. Helped me a lot with experimenting with music styles outside what I normally make (rock/funk rather than synthwave)

I've been following you Charles on your other channel for years. You are an amazing bass player and instructor as well. I really like this first video lesson. I find it to be a really solid one. I really hope and wish you the best of success with this new channel and adventure, you really deserve it. My total admiration and respect!
This was spectacularly clear and helpful. Looking forward to seeing where this channel goes.
Very very well put together, Charles! Not intimidating, very smooth. Thanks brother
good luck with this new channel. I've already subscribed!
Really solid lesson. Thank you very much!
This was great Charles. Very catchy and enjoyable to play. More like this please! 😊
Thank you so much for starting this channel. I haven't played in over a decade, and i am absolutely interested in getting back into it. I would love to see some sort of breakdown or guide to setting up decent tone. That is one thing I always struggled with back when I was playing.
Not only a system for composing bass lines, that has also helped me understand a few bass lines that I've been trying to learn. Thank you. Subbed
im so excited for the you’re gonna post
thank you for doing this man! I am looking forward to see more content and learn from you, you are a legend🤘
Thank you, Charles! These are the types of videos I need.
This is exactlly what I needed. Can't wait for more!
I play by ear mostly but have recently learned to read tabs.. this is AWESOME! Thanks for another great channel!
Finally, a bassline I can play 🥺
Great start! I hope to see lots more from you!
The fact that you propose sheet music and not only tabs, is just magical for us classically-trained musicians. Not a lot of pro's out there doing that. GREAT, indeed.
