I had a Rottie for 13 years - he was the kindest dog and lived happily with my 2 cats and 2 little dogs. For sure, they need training and a lot of exercise which made me lose a lot of weight !!!

I've been feeding raw for years , based on Lew Olsons book " Raw and Natural Nutrition for Dogs ". My dogs look great and have never been ill. Rottweilers are a lot of work , they are worth it though. I've had Dobermans , Boxers , and Rottweilers. The Rottweilers are the best dogs that I've ever known. They are great companions and everything that you could want in a dog. They're so smart , they almost talk. I describe them as Tonka Toy versions of dogs. Physically, they're incredibly powerful, way stronger than they look. Personality wise too , they're Tonka Toy dkgs , they're like a dog but MORE. It's the only way that I can explain it. Maybe SUPER DOG is an apt description.

I agree with you 100%. I am 60, sharing my life with my 3rd rotty. All thru my life I've been around dogs but Rottys are special. They must live in a household that understands the breed. Love the Tonka label. Beautiful animals that belong in a knowledgeable, devoted home. Lots of work, so much in return.

@@SucessKey Hello ... Well Rocky did indeed save my life... one night in July 2021 I was sitting above KZread listening.. My husband was already sleeping at the bottom of ore bedroom.. I was on the bed upstairs and had to pee... I got up took a few steps and started to turn And all of a sudden I fall down on the ground.. I crawled back up but ever time I fell back down until I just couldn't get up anymore... it was Rocky trying to help me up and the window was open and I couldn't get up to close it.. I was cold 🥶.. so Rocky walked downstairs all the time and then back to me upstairs. Lay on top of me to keep me warm.. he did that several times until he woke up my husband.. I had unknowingly had a cerebral stroke and was paralyzed on my left side.. immediately rushed to ER and had five hour brain surgery.. they say I could never walk again and if Rocky hadn't been there and got my husband and warned me I would have died.. yes my Rocky is my Angel.. I love him so much ❤️.. Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪

I've had pits since I was a kid. One of mine passed about a year ago and I've been considering a rottie. My Grandma had a few growing up and I've always thought they were the most gorgeous dogs on the planet. My biggest concern at the moment is my other pibble is 7 years old and I don't know that I want him horsing around with a dog almost twice his size as he ages and the pups in its prime. Keeping up with a 2-3 year old pup when he's 9-10+ years old may be too taxing, and I don't know that I want to do that to him. I'll have one some day tho.

I'm defiitely a first time dog owner and I have done a lot of research on Rottweilers. I want to learn everything about them so when I get one I'll know it's traits, personally how to socialize and train it. I usually skateboard for exercise so when I get one I can let it run on the leash and pull me on my skateboard for it's exercise. I will reward the behavior that I love and a firm no when it's behavior isn't what I want. I will teach it bite inhibition. I will make sure it's exposed to other people and situations as much as possible. I have time and patience. I can train it to allow me to take it's food if I ever need to because I will find it's favorite treat and it will learn that I may place it's favorite treats when I take the food away. I do have depression and anxiety and the dog may find out how to cheer me up. I'm a fun loving person who loves challenges. I do say what I mean and mean what I say. I don't mind having a dog who wants to be around me all the time. I'm considering a female Rottweiler. I'm still looking for one and I'm taking my time. I'm not rushing into getting one because I want to make sure that we bond.

Rottys are very food driven so easily trained. Just make sure to socialize and make sure you’re ready to have 100 lb lap dog. Mine sleeps on my tummy every night. Also I recommend dog training. Makes it easier to be a leader. Also they usually lead the class because oh intelligence and food drive!

I’ve had two female Rottweilers one I had for 14 years she was very gentle and loving and very protective, the second on was more lively and very strong and very very smart, unfortunately after a short illness of 5 weeks she just simply deteriorated in front of my eyes ,having been to so-called vets and spending a small fortune on her I couldn’t bare to see her suffering and longer she passed away on the 27 of December 2023 at age of 5 and half years old,it breaks my heart, even sending this message is heartbreaking,I miss her so bad it hurts…. that’s coming from a big hardy Scotsman 😢

After my Doberman died at 6 years old from DCM, I bought a Rottweiler because I was hoping to find a healthier breed with similar traits. For my personality, I much prefer the Doberman breed for trainability, heat tolerance (I live inTexas), and manners. My Dobermans NEVER tore up my yard like this Rottweiler ALWAYS does...You'd think I had bought a Terrier!!! Pits everywhere!!! He also doesn't sound an alarm like my Dobermans did...But, I had read about that characteristic. I just thought he'd bark a little more than he does! Dobermans are definitely the dog breed for me!
