The soapy water container for utensils... that’s KEY in food service kitchens. Great idea to incorporate into the home. 👍
If, like me, you have joint and chronic disease issues, every single step that you can eliminate has a huge impact on the quality of your life and the amount of energy you have left at the end of the day. I already use most of these ideas, and they make a big difference.

I know exactly how you feel! I've got SLE, Sjogrens disease, FM, OA, DDD/DJD, neuropathy, etc not to mention in legally blind w some light perception but loss of peripheral vision & central vision beyond approx 2-3in from my eyes. I do some of these but will be adding the soapy water utensil container... I have one just for that use! 😁😉 Will be picking up some magazine bins too. There are some instant mashed potato bags for one & hubby's muffin packs for another. 👍👍👍
The magazine rack for storage bags - genius! And, you can easily see how many you have left.

An 'inexpensive' over-the-door pantry organizer makes it easy to access many kitchen products including waxed paper, aluminium foil, and freezer bags.

I have been cutting off the lid to boxes of food for so long and it so much easier to grab and go. I love that method! This girl's tips make my heart happy!💚💚💚💚
This labeling my regular & daily use spice containers on the cover cap using just plan masking tape & sharpie & store them in the drawer right next to the stove where I need them when cooking. Every time one is empty, I just wash it & dry it & then refill it This is how I have been doing for a decade now...
I heard the egg cartons actually help the eggs last longer but I like that idea!
Some good tips - soaking the cutlery and taking the tops off the foil and plastic boxes both good ideas. But the eggs in a glass vase is dangerous - maybe an acrylic type would be better. The food boxes with the removed tops - not too sure - I still like how things look inside bins or baskets - streamlined - same color, etc. Gives a more cohesive look even if being stored in a cabinet or pantry. I love my label maker - again for the same reason. I might do the tape idea in a garage but in my home, I want things to look nice. If you want to be economical and still be eye-pleasing, you can print the word "glass cleaner" in a font of your choice and then apply with a small piece of clear packing tape.
I keep 4-5 bags in the bottom of the trash bin. When you empty the trash, there's the clean bag ready to go

I put eggs in a vase a long time ago, just like apples and lemons etc,etc and the kitchen tools also.
This was GREAT....when I redid my kitchen I installed TWO DISHWASHERS to eliminate dirty dishes accumulating in the sink until I had time to unload the dishwasher. If you have the space, I can't recommend this enough! You do lose a cabinet but you can just use the dishwasher to store the clean dishes. You don't even have to put them away. This was a WIN/WIN!
Very simple, practical and ready to rumble ! Great storage tips 👍Thank you!

SpyderSylk eggs in the US needs to be in the colder spots? Are they different from other countries? Now that I think about it, where I came from we don’t refrigerate eggs
Here's another tip about the garbage bags (see minute 4:25) ... I cut the box open from the top, life ALL the bags out and set them inside the BOTTOM of the garbage container (which is usually under the sink), place a garbage bag over top to use. When that bag is full & removed, there's more bags right there to be used and they take no additional space. Plus, you always know how many you have left.
Great tips!
Awesome Lindsey!

Those are some great tips. I'm moving in 3 days and plan to use some of these in my new home... not the eggs though, I eat more than 2 at a time!
Love the soapy utensil holder idea!
i use a marker as well, but not to label the product. i use it to write down the month i should throw it in. e.g if i buy a foundation and the sign says 6 months after opening, i would write down the month i opened it or the month i should throw it in. 😋 its a tip for those with sensitive skin 😉
Where did that soap dispenser come from? I want one just like it! I like that it's has a large surface area on the top and that you can use your arm to pump. I can't find any similar.

Am I the only one that appreciates the now antiquated way of holding a pen when writing?
The way are eggs are positioned in the box, because they stay fresh longer in that position.
In efficient labs they're removing cupboard doors so you can see and grab things without the opening and closing of doors. Time saver, but I don't see it happening in kitchens.
I do the same thing Lindsey. Except I put my eggs in a nice clear plastic Tupperware container

Then why would most nice refrigerators have egg holders?
@xyzxyz0815
5 жыл бұрын
Eggs have a protective skin, so this should not happen. If they taste weird the reason often is the feeding of the hens. The best is to keep them in the shallow egg bowls in the fridge door. Better not put them into the fridge in their paper package which can be contaminated with eg salmonella caused by broken eggs before. Always throw them away after purchase!
Or just use egg rack of the fridge?
Eggs are in a carton because they are porous and will absorb odors in the fridge - not a good thing. The open boxes are interesting, but unless the stuff is used fairly regularly, it will collect dust, which is not something you want on food supplies.
Not sure if the eggs will stay fresher that way. I read something about that somewhere...
For the eggs, don't they absorb frig odors if not in a closed container?
I use a ceramic egg tray that keeps the dozen eggs separate, no cracking and I can see how many are left. I might use the cutlery canister. Great soap dispenser and gorgeous cleaning supplies I got and refill from www.grove.co/referrer/47043554/ Spices, vitamins and meds already labeled on top. I don't use plastic bags, tin foil, or plastic wrap. It takes less time to dump the bars and soup mix in canister/basket versus cutting the box.
So I shouldnt count all the moves to move the items in the fridge that block the eggs in the back corner?
Additional thing I do regarding Rx... As an example, if you have to take 3 pills a day for 10 days. I'd write the 10 dates on the outside of the bottle... 15, 16, 17, etc with 3 x's behind the date & then cross off each as I took it.
