Around my city there’s around 4-6 hd guys, not a single one of them have ever given me a nod or biker wave. I’ve made eye contact with them at stop signs and red lights, nothing. But every single sport bike and adv I’ve came across always initiate the wave to me. I’m on an Indian Rogue, btw. Not a crotch rocket. To say it turns me away from HD and their riders in general is an understatement. Thankfully I’ve came across Harley guys outside of my city that have acknowledged I even exist in their world. I guess the hd guys in my city are just dbags. They certainly don’t show any biker comradery.

What they need to understand is that not everyone is looking to go as fast as possible. Some people ride to enjoy the ride. I'm perfectly fine not going over 100. But it seems that's all the sport bike riders are concerned with. I don't care what you're riding (well, maybe a Can Am ) Just kidding, I owned 2. Point being, I wave at everyone and treat everyone with respect and I expect the same in return. Ride your own ride and don't worry about what everyone else is doing. How does it affect anyone but me if I'm not wearing "the proper gear?"

I have decided not to wave at those guys for perpetuating stupidity. I'll bet the folks who died in NH a few years ago were doing this, but I don't know for sure. No escape from a distracted driver.

Granted they are nice bikes, but unfortunately it's the Majority of people who ride them are pricks! IT IS NOT a small part of the community but the majority. At least that's been my experience. I love to ride, so am I suppose to deny myself the enjoyment because it not a Harley? I just don't get that. An for the ones who think so, GET OVER IT! I just tired of seeing riders put down, made fun of and in rare occasion just absolutely try 19:44 to cause a non Harley rider to crash on purpose! I have a few rides in the stable, 1 big HD, as well as Kawasaki and Yamaha. I do notice that I get less waves from HD riders if im not on my HD. I try not to take offense, as Ive missed giving a wave; either due to not seeing them in time (divided interstate, curves, etc) or I was busy negotiating a pass or a turn and wanted both hands on the handlebars. I see any rider, no matter the brand, as a fellow human. I can respect any bike, even the old crappy ones. I once had a nice conversation with a guy on a Honda Super Cub at a stop sign. I ride a 2018 Softail Deluxe. For decades, I've been wearing Harley-Davidson dealership t-shirts. However, when you said that your leather s have to have some kind of Harley branding on it come out well I have to respectfully disagree with that. I have a super thick black leather jacket. I ride and a custom leather vest made by the same company that did the sons of anarchy and Mayans wardrobe. The label doesn't make the biker. I thought your leathers look pretty cool and I never saw any labels on it until you mentioned that I had to have Harley branding on it and I saw the Willy G skull on the back. It's the attitude and style that makes a biker.

My first Harley was a Street Bob but found it was too uncomfortable after 45 minutes of ridding. I live in Houston Texas where it's an hour and a half ride or longer from one side of the city to the other. I also owned a Kawasaki Vulcan 650s for a while. I believe 2 wheels is 2 wheels. I wave at all riders and do not own any Harley swag. I do not fall into the stereo types. I think people should do what makes them happy. I don't want people judging me so I don't judge others. Hell I would love to have a sport bike as a second bike. I just don't trust myself because I'm batshit crazy and love to push the envelop.

I’ve been riding over 45 years. I started on a Honda CB400T. But back when I got my first Harley, I opened myself up to a new family and never regretted it! A friend of mine just bought a Road Glide and the first thing I told him is that he needs a set of Leathers if he plans on riding year round. He’s down in Port Charlotte, FL. I know that we only get one month of winter here in FL, but given the wind chill it can be a cold ride… On my Ultra Limited I use that one for long distances or when it’s going to be raining. The longest that I have rode in one day was 1300 miles (I’ll not ride that in one shot again LOL). My Road glide is for dry summer weather and short rides… Yes I do have the Bar & Shield tattoo. I have some Harley clothes, although my leathers are non branded, I spent more on my cut than my jacket. I try to attent the rides here in Pinellas & Pasco counties. I ride with the Suncoast Brotherhood we’re a MRO and not a MC, and every December we have a toy ride that we make sure that the kids here in Pinellas foster care have a great Christmas. About 15 years ago, I stopped into a burger joint for lunch. I was standing there wearing my vest or cut. When in walked some guy that came up to me grabbed me and gave me a big hug! I was in shock, when he said, “I want to thank you, I was in the Pinellas foster care and every year you guys made sure that I had a great Christmas.” That has stuck with me all these years. Ride safe cagers are aiming for us. Shinny side up, rubber side down.

I just hate the Harley superiority complex! Lighten up, give other riders a nod/wave. Also the "you're just jealous that you can't afford one" attitude. If we're riding an adventure bike or sports bike we're probably more interested in performance rather than something shiny that struggles to corner. I feel Harley riders need to try giving more respect rather than demanding respect be given to them.

I was debating with myself right up to the end of the video whether this is satire or a piss-take. Still not sure. One thing I can say about users of this brand is that they sure as s*** can't shut the f*** up about having a Harley. You know what they say about the biggest t-shirt company that also sells bikes? There's more truth in that than you'd like to admit. It's an accessory. It's a "must-have", like a Prada bag, Manolo Blahnik shoes, Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses that women buy, but for men. A type of item where you have to bore the ever-living crap out of anyone who isn't already a member of the cult with rationalisations and justifications of paying stupid amounts of money for very little of a bike. You have to invoke immaterial or imaginary "qualities" like heritage, history, tradition, the je-ne-sais-quoi, the chic, the mystique, as they would say in fashion. You have to tell tales about them still being made using the olden day production methods, being hand-made, hand-fitted, hand-polished. You have to claim that there's something that other brands "just can't match", without being able to describe it. You have to drink the Kool-Aid and believe that owning this fashion item makes you a true man, an individualist, a rebel, a true salt-of-the-earth, gun owning, bible-quoting 'murican free spirit, and the envy of all the world. You have to make sure EVERYONE knows you ride a Harley, even when you're not (so make sure to buy a lot of branded gear), and even when they can't see you at all (mount a loud exhaust on it so you sound like an AA gun firing). And you have to say dumb stuff like "if you don't ride it, you don't understand". Oh, I DO understand - which is precisely why I don't ride it. I wouldn't say I hate Harley riders. I'd rather say I struggle to take them seriously. It's just childish, like children dressing up as firemen or cowboys. It's privileged people entangled in a web of obligations cosplaying as freedom-loving independent rebels, when they get some free time from mowing their lawn as ordered by their HOA. Lawyers, dentists, bankers, who start growing out a bit of a stubble to look right in time for Sturgis. Paying too much for a bike just to pay even more to customise it because it isn't up to scratch out of the factory. And then laugh over people who ride stock Harleys. People who ride just in order to park next to others who rode just to park there. With a sports or a naked bike, you don't have to talk about it. You don't have to take all the baggage with you to make it make sense. When you see it, you know what it's for and what it's about, and why you would want to ride it. It goes like hell, it brakes to rip your face off, it handles better than you'll dare to use. No talk. Ride. Ironically, the people that are responsible for Harley's image, and whom Harley riders try to emulate, would certainly ride anything but a Harley today. They were war veterans who bought their old military bikes for very little money. They rode them because they had nothing else. They rode without proper gear because it was expensive. They were rebels because they were f***d up by the war and lost connection to normal society. They customised their bikes because they were old and crap and falling apart, and they couldn't afford genuine replacement parts. They had that "style" because that was all that those old crappy bikes had to offer. The iconic Harley rider in our time wouldn't be able to afford a fashion luxury item, they would ride a ratty old used bike.

I said to him I don't drink and ride and he said me too while holding a beer Bar parking lot on the way to the jersey shore was full of bikes today while the Phillies were playing in England

A fairing protects the rider and the machine, it also makes you less tired less distracted and fresher when riding and of course, more protected. This makes a rider safer on the road, a bigger bonus, if fact the best effect you could want.

If I were to start riding, the first $2,000 I would spend, would be for an armored jacket, pants, boots, gloves and helmet; BEFORE I even enroll in a MS class or look at a bike to buy. Whether I start on a big H-D or a YZ125, proper attire comes first!

Theiry're the vegan, athiest, crossfitter of the motorcycle world and are seeking attention. They care more about how they think they look and are perceived by others as legitimate to the scene while being a poser and fraud the entire time

Leather DOES NOT keep you warm when riding in cold weather...it actually conducts the cold, so with no warm lining you'll freeze your ass, but it does block the wind so if you have warm clothing on under it you should stay comfortable...and I don't know what Harley Davidson motorcycles you're looking at but they absolutely have NOT lowered the prices on their bikes!! As a matter of fact most of them have gone up in price!!

Man wtf?… shutting down your own kid just to express your dislike to a random dude you don’t know. I don’t understand that bs. I don’t think it was too hard to say “yeah! Cool! And some day I’ll show you a fast Japanese bike that are even better”. I don’t care what that dude thinks of me or my bike or anything, but I felt bad for the kid.

There are way better materials then leather. While leather still works kevlar is a much better material. Hip and knee protection in kevlar jeans are fantastic and with flex zones are much more comfy . ODIN MFG make amazing rain gear pants and jackets . There is something for everyone. I personally don't want to roll like my 65 year old family member in a leather jacket and assless chaps. To each their own. Be safe and keep an open mind to modern choices. HELL YA BROTHER!!!!!!

I am also sure I have missed quite a few waves myself, looking further ahead, or thinking about something else. So I give most guys/gals the benefit of the doubt. I don't ride a Harley, and it is because of the one thing that I hate about Harleys. I simply can't afford one. Maybe someday...

Given how many harley riders I've seen duckwalking and struggling just to stay up at a light, they really need to keep their opinions to themselves. what bothers me most about harley is they don't have any small displacement/low power bikes that are cheap enough for the young people today. They also need to do something about the weight.

There is a grain of truth in this stereotype though (that's why it IS a stereotype, heheh). At least I can confirm after many years of riding. If the dude is not glancing at me quickly or greeting at a light stop, it is always HD rider. Not all of them ofc, it's even small percentage, but still the only ones too cool to greet other rider are HD owners. I guess I am underdog to them, on my old used Japanese beater ;) On the other hand, I have been surprised by occasional high five or fist-bump from stranger biker for totally no reason :) probably someone was having a great day or something and could not restrain himself :) that made me smile too. And guess what? It was never HD.

I have ridden a variety of cruisers over the years including Yamaha Stryker (great bike). Currently ride Harley FXDWG. Chaps never look cool. They also serve no purpose if you go for a slide on your ar5e. Your levi jeans would be gone in seconds then your butt cheeks. If you are going to suit up wear motorcycle jeans. As for harley branded leather jackets they make you look like a douche. There are better quality, more protective leathers out there for half the price.

Funny thing is, the negativity towards other riders and their bikes ALWAYS comes from people that don’t ride Harleys who spit vitriol at those who do! I just don’t understand it, if people want to buy a Harley then maybe, just maybe it’s because they like the bike. I’ve also seen people criticising Harley riders because they wear leather! How idiotic is that? The Leather is worn to protect in case of a spill, then they get criticised when they wear T-Shirts but it’s okay for Sportbike riders to wear one piece race suits meant for track riding and ride on public roads like they’re racing the TT putting their own and other peoples lives at risk. So I have to ask: who is the real problem here?
