Never give your rendered patterns generic names like "pattern 1" or "drums". Reason being, if you need to move your FL files to another computer and you have multiple audio files called "pattern 1", you run the risk of them being deleted or overwritten.... plus when you go to open a project that uses such files, FL will load the first "pattern 1" audio clip it finds.

Best way to avoid any of this, is to save projects under zip folders “zipped loop package” because it will literally take all the audio clips you have patterns etc and save it alongside your project file, that way you will never lose your drums or have your problem

I definetely used to over compress my tracks while mastering. I liked it because it was loud but when i listened to it on my earbuds, i always wondered why is it so hard to write lyrics to my own beats, it seemed like there's just no space for my vocals because everything was just too in your face and they were super overwhelming, felt low-key tired after listening to each and every single beat that i made. But when i finally figured out how extremely aggressive the compression was in my mastering chain, and decreased it, i swear that feeling of relief, it just felt amazing.

One thing I do like to note though is that many professionals do actually go out of key but the certain out-of-scale notes they use sound like they're in key. As long as you do it correctly, you're fine.

He mentioned big mistakes but i have to add one gamechanger for my mixes to that list: Phase correlation !!! if your sounds are out of phase when you sums to Mono this will destroy your mix in mono or even on translation to other sound systems . So to check the phase on every sound i add to my project is my biggest Secret now also check in groups and the whole mix. if sounds dissapearing or sounds thin and weak that's why - the Phase! The more of a stereo widening you have the more Phase issues . Important never use Phase Altering Delayer or Stereo enchancer that will destroy your mix in mono completely. You will add gently stereo widdening but you have to know when to stop . too wide is a problem! it's not a simple task but it is a Huge revelation for me . Making music for about 13 years and not knowing that was a huge mistake.

Like all of its aspects- genre, rhythm, complexity, where it stands in the stereo field... and why some samples simply don't work in certain cases. Also, how do we develop active listening? It seems to be difficult when the song you're actively listening to is REALLY good. One moment you're analyzing, then suddenly you're only vibing😭What are your thoughts? :)

Just shout into the mic while tweaking it’s own gain knob (either physical or in your OS’s sound settings) to prevent clipping, although some mics have a hardware limitation on how much signal it can receive and automatically clips it. For the recording side, while you can use a limiter with a slight attack and long release, it’s better to use a compressor for that, or better yet, don’t use anything on the recording chain so that you can record the raw audio and then focus on audio repair with stuff like de-clippers, de-essers, vocal levelers (pretty much compressors) etc.

Do you guys know a fast way to export your samples from a finished track? Going through all the stems and cutting them, or going through all the patterns to export them one by one is pain. 💀

I have a question: When I download tracks from youtube or load in a sample they always looks very compressed and fat. But when I'm ether mastering or processing my leads I can't get the same visual result... Why is that? do I need to compress it mor (higher ratio and lower the threshold) or put a limiter after everything?

My opinion (not a pro but I've been doing this for some years now) is that your listening to a already mastered track. Mastered tracks are compressed and limited to a certain level of loudness. Try to level down the reference tracks to a level that the RMS of your project is then you can sort out the issue. (Maybe turn up the individual element or compress or saturate or limit etc etc)
