Pour some sugar in a pan and then some water and mix so that it gets completely dissolved. When it is golden brown (don't stir just move the pan so that colour spreads evenly) add some cream and about two scoops of butter to it. And you're done with creamy caramel which has a buttery taste.

These desserts always seem like they'd be too sweet. Don't get me wrong, I love caramel and I know it's a very sugary candy (I feel like sugar and candy are almost synonymous anyway) but they added sugar seems too much.

try soaking your apple slices in sugar syrup or caramel instead for the same sweetness while maintaining a crispness
