7 Foot Brown Shovelnose Ray, School Mackerel

(Back from 2 weeks holiday). Yesterday arvo I fished in light wind, no rain and half overcast conditions. From noon to 4pm Herring were absent, after that they were available. Grinners were plentiful and often caught when using a lure. At 4-36pm I had a live Herring taken and fought for 24 minutes, with aid allowing me to hand line the catch which was a approx. 7 foot Brown Shovelnose Ray, which being oversize I released. Thanks to those that assisted. After that I was given a School Mackerel I initially thought was legal but on measuring turned out to be under so it was released.

How has fishing been on Urangan since winter? Been dead all around sandy strait and here in the Mary river 🤔 worth taking a trip to Harv and having a crack …or same as everywhere else currently 🤔

Bream at night and first thing in morning, undersize school mackerel during day time. Herring last two hours of day.
