He should be measured in bare feet and not slumping. This is not definitive, other than he likely is at least 7'9" without shoes.

I think he would do well in college first. May I suggest that he go and play for a basketball conference like the Big 12 first before he goes to the pros? BYU is currently looking for a center for their basketball team.

To my knowledge, the tallest confirmed basketball player was 8'0, and if true (which I am skeptical of) the tallest player ever was 8'4. But he might have been a circus performer who pretended to play basketball.
