🇩🇰 You can watch this video in (very accented) Danish: kzread.info/dash/bejne/l6dorsewktDdpqg.html
My native language is really hard to learn. And it is so easy to skip learning the language when everybody is fluent speaking English. But all expats I have known for years did better by learning Danish. We used to have a prince consort married to our queen, but he sadly passed away. After several decades here he still had problems with out language. He could speak it but only with a heavy accent. Opposed to this was another man from France I worked with for almost two decades: He was really keen to learn our language. Soon he refused to speak English when speaking with people who knew Danish, insisting the language should be Danish unless somebody present did not understand. And less that two years later he was completely fluent. No accent at all, but he was speaking with a clear Copenhagen dialect. And this man advanced from being a simple work slave to be the CEO of the company we both worked for; a company with about a hundred employees.
Learning danish it will get you to a better job, because learning the language you will have an ocean of educations that you can take in Denmark. 😉

Good point
Most danes speak English, but not quite everyone. My dad, who is 71, doesn´t speak english and his brother, who is 75, also doesn´t. BUT among the younger generations, YES, almost everybody speaks English.
There is very little need to understand Danish in my work/life. But I wish to learn it because, in Denmark, only those who understand Danish can donate blood. A strange rule...

Wow didn’t know that
Hey! I’m curious what tips would you have for someone who is just graduating from “Folkeskole” / 9th grade in Denmark?

Tips on what? If you're teenager or in your 20s, think more long term, do things/learn things that compound and have fun
