7 Crazy Russian Trucks and Amphibious Off-Road Vehicles You Must See

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It goes without saying that bad roads, unforgiving weather conditions and harsh terrain are first of all associated with one country on this planet - Russia. What else is typical for this place? Some mean and extreme trucks that can actually allow people to get around and reach any corner of the vast territory. These vehicles can drive with or without roads, on snow, dirt and sand, through water and on water.

@@MustSeeTech The map of Canadian roads not show much roads in their "similar natural conditions" regions. Norway, Sweden, Finland, Alaska and Greenland are slightly smaller than Russia, so what countries were you exactly talking about? Even without that, certain regions, where vehicles like DT-30 and GAZ-71 are used, are not visited by civilians, but are used expeditors or loggers/industry. So why would someone build a set of roads and bridges to a remote nowhere far away from civilization, and maintain them, while only 1.5 truck per month passes here and nobody else uses it? The cheaper alternative is to make a machine that can pass there for these few people who need to work there. And that's exactly what was done.

How about building good roads? Let's have a think about it, there are bottomless bogs through most of the Asian parts, massive temperature swings from negative 70c to 40c above 0 or even more in some places, plus springtime brings floods because of the melting snow and it is a massive amounts of snow... so unless one can figure out some road that can exist on top of nothing and make it from some material that does not disintegrate because of the temperature swings and manages to keep it in place during floods them good roads are not coming to Russia any time soon. So dear author before making a dumb comment please make sure you know the situation

All the vehicle in this list are for going to place most people don't want to do anything at that place cause those place only has tree, snow, mud out at nowhere so i said "It is cheaper to build vehicle than to make road." meaning get fun build your own vehicle to run around if you need to run to nowhere, since they (the gov) don't build road to nowhere, people don't have to pay tax for road build, no ministers get part of those road money, it is best for the people isn't it? A huge part of the territory of the Russian Federation is in permafrost. No roads are possible there, because the ice goes tens and hundreds of meters underground and asphalt or concrete will simply leave and fall apart. And where there is a milder and warmer climate in Russia, the roads there are now of excellent quality.

I live in north of Siberia. Where town with 100 thousand people of population are megapolises. Where distanсe between towns can be 100-200-300 miles without any infrastructure. Where you can drive by winter snow road 300 miles and don't meet any car or human. Where soil is permafrost which at summer time melts and oozes to nowhere with parts of road. Where you can drive by asphalted road 200 miles more than 24 hours because blizzard and snowbanks are higher than your car (you can dig, but snowbanks grows more quickly). If you want to build a road then you should ship sand, gravel, cement (more than in ordinary conditions in other countries) some hundreds miles (don't forget about permafrost). And you should remember about plenty of rivers, lakes and swamps - what about bridges? By the way, I have driven some of that vehicles. One Burlak in this movie belongs to my friend. Must See Tech Probably either; Sometimes you have to transverse along cross gradients. (roll axis) Or. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a little bit of ease of accessibility (for servicing or repairs) in order to make the vehicle work as intended. *When I explore old trails that have not had people on them, sometimes for over 10yrs, it is necessary to improvise and/or trail blaze, with the only passageway option traversing along a slope instead of, as close to the ‘straight up and down’ as possible approach afforded by open clear spaces. A vehicles ability to handle cross grades is a MAJOR consideration for usability, versatility and safety. Unfortunately, as good as the vehicle was, it sacrificed this for ease of manufacturing and ease of maintenance/repair access. Effectively making it useless for most markets it is likely pitched at. (Ones that can afford it and want/need it)
