My sweet Olive is almost 1. It's just her and myself and she does follow me everywhere. I have left her for boarding at my vet's office two times already and she's done beautifully. I had to go out of town and I did not want her to have any kind of an anxiety problem since we're together all the time. The tips above were very helpful, thank you.

My purebred nearly 1 year old Maltese shows needy/clinginess behavior but has grown to not bark at everything and is better at being alone without excessive barking. He also has little to no backbone in dominance and is very passive, anxious and timid. He is more comfortable around people and never socializes with other dogs (big or small or same breed). Hs is potty trained very well indoors and outdoors in the proper places. I just wish he had more confidence in himself but maybe his passive behavior keeps him from destroying the house lol

What's with the 'maltese problems? All pets have issues', so why highlight only this? If anyone wants to adopt a specific dog, ALL can be trained just for e.g what about a Siberian husky that howls, yet husky people accept it goes with the territory and that neighbors dont complain. If you dont want the maltese because of the problems, let the maltese lovers will be only too happy. Don't adopt any dog that is high maintenance etc, etc. First research from a dependable person, then guage from there. I've only had maltese (other big breeds too), one thing i will say is my maltese is the boss lady, the large dogs tow the line.

Omg I've never had a dog with separation anxiety except for my malteses I got a second one yesterday because I feel like they need companions.. I cannot carry my Maltese with me everywhere all the time... At 6/7 months old they're really high energy and that's not all dogs.. Why do you have to be so bitter and leave a nasty comment on this man's video which may be very helpful to a lot of people...
