My Maltese is 5 months old . He just started barking only when he hears another dog barking. This is on tv as well outside.

You should never use a choke lead or correction collar on a Maltese! They are toy dogs and are very tender! If this is a repeat of a video you think would work into this breed, you are mistaken! OMG! If this was mentioned over a year ago, I apologize; I can't read back that far.

What can you put on a white dog to STOP IT FROM SUN BURN ?

My Maltese barks when he is around new people (if they pay any attention to him) and other dogs. How do you recommend dealing with this sort of barking? I think its because of fear and low self-esteem, since we do have a very good relationship and he does get loads of exercise! Thanks

My Maltese does the same thing but more around other dogs and sometimes new people. I get her out and around other people and with the occasional coming across other dogs while on walks. Not sure how to curb that. She seems fearful and anxious around other dogs even if I’m carrying her in her backpack when she gets tired from walking. She will sometimes even get other dogs riled up and I start to get embarrassed as it may seem to others I don’t train her which is contrary to what I’ve done. But again not sure how to get her comfortable enough around other dogs or people to stop her barking and sometimes growling.

I curb mine by with humans, telling her no and stop, then greet the person if they are comfortable with petting her. Just be overly social. With dogs they have to meet with no leashes, and usually that’s not always a good idea due to location. The breed is naturally inclusive of all dogs and wants to play with all, so again constant socializing. But I feel my dog is usual just anxious, and once I help her through that encounter a few times she will be Uber confident afterwards and start whimpering in excitement and joy 🥲

I thought this was about Maltese. All this stuff works on large breeds, but do not put a prong on your Maltese. It is dangerous and you WILL ruin your relationship. It's irresponsible to put this out as appropriate for a toy breed.

We walk every morning, Jackson barks at other dogs & people. What can I do?
