To put it simply it asks that if you periodically change parts of an object until nothing original stays then the obvious question rises: is it still the same object as the one from the beginning if nothing from then is in it now? They were just making the joke that "shipping" characters is basically paring them together and the afromentioned "ship of Theseus" situation.

I've always felt that Metatton from Undertale was having way too much fun throughout the whole encounter and particularly the boss fight, in which you get quizzed, play minigames and try to help the murderous robot score massive ratings on his TV show. Also, in a similar vein, Jevil, the secret boss from spiritual sequel Deltarune, who is certain that you escaped your cage (i.e. the outside) in order to play a game. It's a simple game; if your HP reaches 0, you lose! Such fun :)

Goro Majima is definitely the funnest character I have ever seen in a video game. He endears himself to the audience fairly quickly. His "Kiirryyuuu-Chan" is definitely iconic. He has the most appropriate title as The Mad Dog of Shimano.

I don't know if I'd call that a boss. He doesn't fight you directly. Even when you do meet him face to face fighting him is optional, and he goes down about as easily as other teleporting splicers.

One can enjoy the thrill of combat even without genuinely beleiving in the cause behind it, plus Raiden can be seen as his way out of the situation. It's not only in the first, you can use it in the others as well! Fun fact: The Darksign only gets rid of the CURRENT souls you have. If you are on your way to a bloodstain and feel like you aren't going to make it, you can use the Darksign to die, lose what few souls you had on the recovery run, but keep your bloodstain souls intact. Less useful to everyone: Speedrunning strats when you don't have access to a Homeward Bone.

He ran around making amazing jokes at your expense, made fun of you constantly, and when you finally got to fighr him, he spent the whole fight bounding around on a giant creepy clown face and throwing electrified bubbles at you while talking about spanking you. 10/10 would therapy again!

The first name that came to mind when I saw the title was Susano from Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. His entire fight is him laughing and treating the fight more or less like a party. And when he goes giant and drops a giant sword on the field, his command isn't "DIE!" or "PERISH." It's "REJOICE." And his line upon dying isn't a curse at you or lamenting his fate, it's a cheer about how memorable it was - as if even in defeat, he enjoys the fight because it happened.

Well I'm glad Theseus is having a great time, because I never did each and every time I had to do that fight. So to contradict, it's actually very easy to get mad at him because he's having fun, and I'm not.

Ornstein doesn't like Smough but respects him as comrades in the service of the Royal Family of Anor Londo, calmly laying a hand on him to absorb his power. Smough is completely ambivalent and will smash Ornstein while he's trying to get back up after falling.

Augus from Asura's Wrath throughout his battle with the titular character it sounds like he's having a really great time fighting his former student.

A “Gun glued to a golf club” sounds like a hilarious weapon Jane.

The Dung Defender from Hollow Knight comes to mind. You run across him in one of the most irritating areas in the game, and right from the start, even before you fight him, he's yelling, laughing, and generally having a good time. Then you actually fight him, and, again, the entire fight he's laughing and bouncing around like he's not in the middle of a massive plague. White Defender acts basically the same way, too, just not in literal bug sewage.

I don't know the developer or the character you mentioned, but maybe otome games or visual novels may be up your alley if you enjoy the romance/ character focused aspect of bioware games? The Arcana, Fictif and Lovestruck are all visual novel apps (they do have paid choices and a content unlock clock so be warned) but maybe those may be up your alley in the mean time?

Honorable mention: Baldur from god of war He's been deprived of any and all feeling for so long he fully revels in it when Kratos beats him to a pulp at the end of the game

I think Ardyn from Final Fantasy 15 is a good candidate. He's constantly taunting the player and laughing. And if you play his DLC, he's having a great time smashing up Insomnia.

You done forgot about fatman from MGS Sons of Liberty....roller blades, champagne and C4, dude was having the time of he's life

I’m currently trying to finish the stuff in Hades post-game, and one time I tried to do a run where the bosses had extra bonuses. Theseus got a fancy golden helmet and chariot and god bless his cotton socks he was so excited. 😂😂

To be honest I enjoyed Stefano Valentini's performance as a villain and he killed it. Literally. He's awesome if anything and is indeed an interesting case for mental instability

If there's a commentors edition you gotta mention Theseus again when you up the heat gage and he gets his dope golden chariot. He literally wheels around firing fireworks instead of fighting you half the time.

First thing that came to mind was Roche from Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Jester from devil may cry 3. He is literally laughing and joking the entire time.

Having just started Resi 7 myself, I'm delighted to see Jack on the list. I'm super early in the game, so I haven't gotten to the garage fight yet. I'm almost as big a scaredy cat as Ellen, so I'm playing the game more to have a better appreciate of the set up with Resi 8 and all that. I love Jane shipping Theseus and Asterius. Stefano reminds me a lot of Cohen in BioShock with all the artwork and such.

God of War, when you fight "the stranger" (Baldur) at the beginning of the game, where he's basically just toying with you and laughing maniacally every time you punch him.

I agree with that; I also have to give props to Hermès in God of War 3 for having the time of his life as well.

Handsome Jack makes a good entry, too. He spends most of Borderlands 2 just sitting around mocking you, eating pretzels and playing with Buttstallion. Even after you waste his daughter he's still throwing insults and quips at you until you finish him. What a guy.

I'd like to nominate Fontain from Bioshock. He spends the entire fight just amazed at how good he feels now that he is juiced up on Adam and Eve and wondering why he kept avoiding it for so long.

The administrator from Evil within DLC the consequence. He was laughing at you the whole way during the game and while choking you during the final battle against him.

I couldn't help but think of Ardyn from FFXV while watching this. The dude was a major wind-up merchant all through the main game - never mind the sheer joy he had causing chaos in his DLC :')

One boss that had far more fun than he deserves was micolash was having a fucking blast seeing you run in a maze like some sort of headless chicken
