3:16 Are you allowed to swap equipment from one character to another during Select Equipment or another step? The Grenadier already has the fusion grenade, and you can only have one of each indirect equipment item?

@@ObsceneSuperMatt no you can't. What I say in the video is that you might want to not take the grenadier and that's how you're able to have two ops with grenades instead of just one :)
Chuck Yi did the kommandos alpha strike against my cults, i misplayed it so badly and he took 7 of my operatives in his FIRST activation! It was amazing!!
Just a note about the forward deploy and recon, with spec ops Secure Vantage can't be revealed on the first turning point. That said Courier and Surge Forward can, so forward deployed operatives can score those pretty well.
Starstriders have amazing alpha strike potential with their privateer assets and running up a grenade with their ploys and warrant of trade abilities!

Putting a cluster of easily flanked and blasted group is one of great cardinal sins of newbies. Alongside putting everone on a Conceal order
As vet guard, I usually take an order flip to use with my plasma+spotter so I can shoot + move to safety (but still within range of the spotter), then turn 2 target him with the spotter again. Two guaranteed ignores-conceal plasma shots is massive value, I almost never pair up the spotter with the sniper
Well done as always! I main Wyrmblade, so the trick to beating me (amongst a lot of other things) is setting up an ITD board.

Not quite an alpha strike due to taking 2 activations, but the Corsair way seeker (psyker) has a power to swap positions with another friendly operative within 6'' So you can Plunderers up your way seeker and another (I like the starstorm duelist for this) for 3'', move your way seeker up further on your first activation, and swap with the duelist to get 9 inches out of deployment, with a full move and free dash to close more distance and hit someone with the 3'' range melta

If you use the Shaderunner, he also has FLY so terrain dependant choice there.
What about the poison grenade from the hand of the archon to permanently injure your opponent models plus they slowly take damage
Warpcoven. One guy gets fly with tempyric discipline. Dash forward. Move dash. Flux blast from vantage. 1cp to go back to conceal. If you wanna invest 2cp you can can ephemeral instability while next to a rubric icon. So you shit down all dashes and charges and get a blast 3/4 rending attack on their deployment tp1
The level you pitched this at was really nice. It made good sense and I'm a super-casual. (I heard about a Hive Fleet one: started it off, realised i was on a conceal order, forgot there was a ploy to switch order, and abandoned it.)

Im actually surprised you didnt mention Warpcoven. That faction is deceptively mobile, and on open boards can absolutely DECIMATE lower wound operatives on turn one if you deploy incorrectly. Take one sorcerer with the flight or time walker boon, and give him an arcane scroll. Turn one, activate both exalted astartes and psychic dominion. Fly or run to your shopting position of choice, and just let fluxblast and firestorm rip. Lucky crits on fluxblast are nasty, and firestorm isnt particularly strong but itll help you chip away more wounds. Bonus points if this is your second activation, and your icon bearer can give that sorcerer a free cast. That gives you an extra APL to play with, so you can either fly further or potentially run back to safety. I used this at a local tournament once and dealt something to the tune of 40 total wounds to a heirotek player, and he was forced to spend the entire rest of the game healing and reviving everyone in his deployment zone. Absolutely brutal. Underestimate the Thousand Sons at your own peril! This is a great video though, i didnt know about a bunch of these. Ill definitely be keeping an eye out, thank you!
Inquisition with breachers can do some silly things. Select infiltrate. Recon dash the Grenadier with embedded agent. Buff his damage with Mystic so a miss becomes a hit or hit becomes a crit. Use Surveyor to give him 3 APL. Then change to engage, move + dash + throw the buffed demo charge for a 15" threat range. You can optionally do embedded agent a second time to recon dash the Hatchcutter too, then move and use breachpoint to cut a hole in a wall to allow the Grenadier a straight line to the enemy.
Great vid! Just to add that for Hierotek Circle there is an even better alpha strike you did not mention that requires only 1 activation, using leech power you give the chronomancer 4 APL, he casts chronometron on himself, and can then move 9' / dash / shoot, all in 1 activate
Hearthkyn have an alpha strike, not that it's helped this omega team, however it's a fun time to take the jump pack kyn with a grenade and boost it 12" in a line and then "Ancestors are watching" to attack.

that's just a frag grenade though. and you're likely losing your jump pack troop who is one of the best on the team. i guess it could be worth it if they clump a lot of weak operatives together. You can do almost the same thing with the grenadier, and his grenade is a lot better, although the blast range is smaller.

I've had some success with the toxhorn gas grenade as an alpha strike. It goes through walls. Also, vulgrar thrice cursed? Drawn to the hum + recon dash can threaten flamer or charge over a nice area.
Excellent video! You should create a top 9 next quarter, or 11 or whatever odd amount have been found at that point.
Phobos: get your Marksman into a good position and "track target" enabling him to drop your opponent's operative mid-activation. Then use comms specialist on your next activation to order your Marksman back into conceal.

Cant do that on the first turning point.
I've had people refuse to shoot my sacrificial pivitol role grenade sacrifice to try and stop me getting points. You really can get people coming and going with Void Dancers.
Hearthkyn jumppack with grenade or even pistol + ancestors are watchig
You can get one in Phobos with the pre-game Dash and Order flip scouting options on a geared up Reiver. Fly forward in conceal, then use the double strike ploy, flip order, charge, and take out a target.

Your algorithm knowledge is almost as terrifying as the algorithm itself, but the real question would be: if the algorithm said no, would you drop the double hello?
Hand of archon has an alpha strike with torment grenade. This ability can be used with conseal order and does not require visibility Pathfinders can also alpha strike with their drone because of drone controller infiltration.

I have nothing to add I just wanna boost your algorithm slightly
I really dislike alpha strikes. I feel like such a heel when I use the dynamite off my ork to nuke someone turn 1. I was so glad when they took the second one away from the team. Man just hearing about some of these is just. . . why is this a thing, who thinks alpha strikes are fun?
With Necrons, I like to use my 1st turn to boost a immortal to shreds. Timesplinter/chronomotron for movememnt and sustain, intractable march and undying android if needed, and leech power. Top it off with Despoteks Demand and you have a nasty unit that can go across the map, cap a point, destroy a character and tank up 2 or 3 units worth of attacks. Dying on turn 1 isn't a big deal because you usually don't use commence reanimation on turn 1 so at some point it comes back alive in enemy lines.

just a heads up, leech power only works for crypteks. Only way for immortals to get +1APL is from the accelerator plasmacyte
