    Thanks for the tips Raymond. Btw do you know if having a record of churning credit cards makes it more difficult to apply for new ones in the future?

    I've been churning credit cards for years now and have never run into any issues personally! It does negatively impact your credit score, but I only open a card every 3-4 months and I've never had any issues.

    Dear Raymond. Thank you for the videos. I was wondering how can you manage to keep constantly apply AMEX cards after 18months cycle and have it approved. AMEX don't usually allow that after certain amount of time. Please kindly advise. Thanks

    Hey mate, I'm currently in the process of doing it with AMEX (i.e. waiting for 18 months before I reapply again) I have heard anecdotal evidence that AMEX has been rejecting credit card churners, so I'll have to wait and see if I get accepted for a new card!

    If you wait the 18 Months, then cancel your card, don’t you loose your points? And then only have your sign up points from the new card? How do you retain/inherit/build points if they go when you cancel the card?

    Thanks for the tips raymond. Do you normally wait for one card to be cancelled before applying for a new one? I wonder if it impacts the approval for someone with a mortgage?

  • @raymondla

    @raymondla

    I typically apply first then cancel afterwards, but either way works. Having credit cards will impact how big of a loan you can take out with the bank as they do take that into consideration. Often times if you’re applying for a home loan the mortgage broker will tell you to close down all your existing credit cards.

    Cool… when i got my home loan, the bank told me thats the maximum i can borrow without cancelling any of my credit cards. Since i didn’t, i assume i’ve maxed out my limit so not sure if thats a factor?

    Hey Raymond, Awesome video! I've subscribed and find your content really informative. I have a question. Is it possible to pay a credit card off with another credit card? Here is my situation. I got the Qantas Amex Ultimate Card and just received my first bill, I need to pay $3 by the payment due date. I have made the minimum spend for the 100k bonus points. Would I be able to open a new credit card with ANZ/NAB/Westpac and my new card to pay the bill on my Amex card. I can see on the Amex bill you can pay at the post office. If I open a new ANZ CC, could I use that card to pay of my Amex bill at the PO? Thanks!

    Hey mate, short answer is no. Credit card companies won't allow you to make payments with another credit card from a different company.

    About the interest free period, I’m with american express. Would i have to end the current statement on 0 balance before the statement closes to avoid getting charged a fee/interest?

    You'll need to pay the outstanding balance that's on your monthly credit card statement by the payment due date. You definitely don't need to bring your total balance to $0

    Hey brother I got a hefty tax bill which card do you suggest to maximise rewards to pay the ato?

  • @raymondla

    @raymondla

    4 ай бұрын

    Hey mate, unfortunately with most credit cards you earn reward points at a reduced rate for ATO payments. There's also usually a 1-2% fee to pay with a credit card so I personally just choose to pay via BPAY as I don't think it's worth it!

    Wait would closing my anz ff black card account early after 1 month mean losing your my frequent points, is it required for me to spend 100k bonus points before renewal? Confused what you meant here 6:40 Confused what you meant here But very informative video, thanks again for content

  • @raymondla

    Sorry for any confusion, if you're earning frequent flyer points they won't expire after closing your card because they're linked to your frequent flyer account. However if you're earning reward points specific to that provider e.g. AMEX or any of the large banks, then your reward points will expire after a certain time period if you close your card. For AMEX you have 30 business days to use up all of your AMEX reward points after you've closed your credit card.

    With CBA you can claim your points as cash back which would in turn cover the fee
