    @@nikoontrack1173 Thank you so much Niko. I am sorry you crashed but happy you were very skilled and lucky to get out with a loose number plate and a couple of bumper scratches. Would you like to share your setup and where the installation was made? I am looking for improving the car so hesitating between the KW v3 and the Ohlins. It must be a challenge to get a good setup for the KW with all the possible rebound and compression combinations. Plus I am planning to buy wheels for the next season so you may have a good suggestion there as well. Your wheels look racy and well ventilated 😉 I now have everything stock except the tyres, as I went for a PS4S square 255 setup but the 20 inch are two low profile, so they are very vulnerable…the Pirelli 235 elect tyres were sliding all the time 🤣

    Hi Niko, great driving as always. I’m curious about the 35/65 split you choose to run. Traditional AWD where you have a single source of power and 35/65 split means sending 35% power to the front and 65% to the rear, however on a Model3 where it actually runs one motor on each axle, when selected 35/65 split, you are actually getting the same power from the rear, but reduce power on the front to mimic the 35/65 effect. Wouldn’t this mean you are running less power overall? Many thanks Edit, just realised you are running a staggered set up, maybe it makes more sense running rear bias given the tyre width difference. I’m running 275 square, 2.75/ 2 front rear camber, toe out front and rear. 50/50 split front and rear, -3 traction. The rear end is already quite nimble and I can rotate rear quite easily mid corner on power. I’ll give split ratio a try next track day and see how it affect lap times.

  • @nikoontrack1173

    @nikoontrack1173

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey Jeff. Good point from you. As far as I know the power ratio takes only affect in corners, when the car detects turning angle, so on a straight it doesn´t matter which setting we choose. In the corners I don´t like understeer, so I kind of like the rear drive bias. With 275 allaround I can imagine 50/50 runs great. But with small 245 in front (which are absolutely at limit) I am kind of happy to have less stress for them but no limitation on the rear (285). I plan to upgrade the front to 265 and then I retry 50/50.

    On model 3 power output is not limited by motor performance, but by battery current. F+R peak motor power is more then the available battery power. So yes, you can arrange your power 35/65 and still gain an advantage.

  • @romansenger2322

    @romansenger2322

    Жыл бұрын

    @@schawo2 yeah, but the battery can output 1200A while rear can take 800A and the front 400A. Also from teat data, it shows that you will get full power to both motors when you fully press the acceleration pedal and dont countersteer. There is a lot more going on in track mode then you might think, sadly nobody makes an in-depth video with scanmytesla data about it.

    I wanna ask as an owner myself .what setting would you recommend for canyon driving? I’m currently using 70-30 split for the rear and -8 on the traction control I wonder if you think it is worth it to experiment with -9 or -10 or if it’s too dangerous for road use

  • @nikoontrack1173

    @nikoontrack1173

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey Sergey, I personally don´t like when the traction control kicks in, so I put it on -10 which also saves the brakes. But on a public road I think going first on -9 can´t be wrong and safety net is still active a bit. 70 rear 30 front is very nice to accelerate out of conrers! I am sometimes going to 40/60 or 35/65 in case the rear motor gets hot.

    Did you consider swapping the brake pads for lowering the regen to keep up the max discharge a bit higher?

  • @nikoontrack1173

    @nikoontrack1173

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes I did, driving with 0% regen instead of 100% only delays the power reduction by 0.7 miles / 1 kilometer so I skipped that idea. In summer days usually it happens at hohe8 (highest point on track, downhill from that onwards), so the sections afterwards are not very power demanding luckily :-)

    Have you tried lower tyre pressure? 42 hot front sounds kinda high or?

  • @nikoontrack1173

    @nikoontrack1173

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes I tried but the front tires had too much wear on the outside. As they are small (245 wide only) and the car is relatively heavy I raised the tire preasure to that level and this works fine for me. Tire wear is now the same over the whole surface. But I think of upgrading the front to 265 tires and than of course with less psi.
