"Ozymandias"
Percy Shelley
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings;
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
Don't chase virality, do your best work and good will come. You're building something, not chasing. At least that's what I try to tell myself.

40+ million views in a week on a video where I fold a shirt from a banknote as a wedding present taught me very similar lessons.
Brother, you are f’ing fabulous. Thanks for bringing such joy into my life. Realizing this could be read as sarcasm and I promise you it’s not. Just really appreciate your combination of humor, wit, unique viewpoint, pacing, willingness to be real and, from watching a few others videos of yours, your mad skills in filming and editing. And did I mention your truly genius humor. Your son’s lucky to have you as his dad (watched the nipple video), you rock. Thanks for being you.

I love all of his--I mean--your, videos, Jesse. I love that you don't publish them on a regular basis, because when they do show up it's like receiving an unexpected gift!

Thanks! Will do!
I wish I could bet money on your whole channel going viral. I know it will. Quality is rare. It’s just out of phase with the collective manic energy of humanity at the moment. The question is, are you rooted well enough to weather that storm? Godspeed.

Ha thanks Keith! Trying not to worry about it... yet 😬
This was a great video. Found you yesterday. Every video I’ve seen from you has been great. This channel and your approach and personality are refreshing. Keep it up! We need this!

Thank you!
You are correct. Once a video goes large for me the comments move from "you" to "he" as if I'm not able to hear them (read them?). Like I'm far away and up on a stage and they're having a conversation in the backrow. Once my initial viewers comment I refrain from reading comments. There should be a sign that says, read the comments of a popular video at your own risk - Here, there be dragons. Asshole dragons, but dragons nonetheless. 😎

Wow, well put Bob... makes me happy for my small audience for the time being... it's a very small venue where i can hear the back row :) It must be hard not letting it get to you and second-guess yourself... i guess that's the "i just don't read them" part.
Idea....Jesse Senko Nose trimmer merch. take it and run with it

lol but this video was not intended to be “junk” content, so I think we’re good!
Dude, that was hilarious! Thank you for making my night. I loved the nose trimmer comment--you need an affiliate link for that! Should I be sad that the goofy algorithm brought me here sort of? I am looking forward to watching more of your channel.
I got your back if you ever do a "How much did I say by trimming my own nose hair" video. As always, awesome video!
I love this video and your style. Can totally relate- even tho I haven’t had a vid go that viral! More important to have small number of engaged viewers in your niche, imo, but sometimes hard not to get swept up in chasing viral metrics.

haha amazing! it's about those quality views over quantity!!!
This is close to what happened to me, luckily it was with a simple Minimalist drone video I did and an edit with my son skating for the first time filmed not terrible. However years ago my most tik tok views came from a really dumb short video of me being silly with my wife as she was tie dying I was saying I was the luckiest husband as she was cute and bent over (not angled sexually or anything) however that made the comments section the worst. Plus she was growing her hair back so it short and pulled back so people even was harassing her looking like a boy etc. luckily They’re were a percentage of every type of comment or in there so I guess that’s better than just hate. Long story short it did help my tik tok channel that had a little more of my actual work and music get eyes on it, but not near the amount. Now it’s back to basic views. However reels are a mess and only strategically based on the user and the poster it seems right now. So you can have a high view count on a video then nothing. I’ve even tried the same video from a legit source on different pages and it was not consistent of any sort. I don’t know. Keep making the good stuff and we’re here for it. Loved Spores when it dropped and you’re the only person on youtube I relate too with your actual filmmaking happening in the videos that I’m impressed and inspired by. Also… Great ending to this video.

Thanks for sharing, Jeremiah. First i wonder who's raising these self-centered people to not empathize with the humanity of others. And second, based on your tests, and my own, the robots are winning. We're in the matrix already.

How funny. I actually think about that reel of you fixing your car very often as I need to fix that on my car. I saw it like a year ago and had no idea it was yours. Then your channel randomly pops up on my suggested list because I am looking at fixing up a 69 beetle. The algorithm is hard at work.

Haha you are my perfect target. Now you just have to start doing some film photography. You’re in the middle of a very weird Venn diagram.
Actually, I am here because of the goofy youtube algorithim. But hey, really enjoyed your video anyway! Supporting you mentally (if not financially). 😇

I’ve also noticed a trend of people preferring the BTS over the content, which is okay-er-ish than going viral for something you don’t want to be known for. But also, why won’t people just watch my movie? Sigh.

I dunno! Maybe people want to imagine themselves as artists more than they want to see art? I admit it’s hard to commit to something unknown on KZread because the quality scale is so much wider than gate kept streamers. But I don’t know. Take a chance people!
