Dude thank you so much my battery took a crap and I wanted to to do a brushless kit but couldn't find one unless I pieced it together but I seen this and figured why not.I did it and it works! I did it a little differently with little work but its amazing thanks a million big thumbs up and subscribe

Good upgrade I was going to do the same that stock battery dies to fast I love micro crawling I just picked this truck up it had been at the hobby shop for awhile 😀✌🏻👍🏻😎

i want to let you know that there are smaller lipo chargers that are not very expensive, i happen to have 3 of them. i have one from E-flite which charges and balances 2 to 3 cells the # for it is EFLC3110. i have another charger from atomic which was 30 buck, and i have a small dc lipo balancing charger. all 3 chargers are around 1.5in x 2.25in x .75in so they are very small and do the job well incase you were interested in getting one. I do love what you did with the truck, it looks like a little frog the way it hops around due to the extra power.

How is yours holding up on a 2s lipo? I just tried mine and it seems fine. just worried if it will shorten the life of the 3 in 1 unit.

So far--- so good.

8-6-21 ... I have a question, How is the battery mod holding up now, I was recently given one of these trucks and seems it had a bad motor. Got the new motor and it still don't run, now looking at the esc combo unit. Took the old motor apart and the brushes are not even brushes. More like wafer thin copper trimmed into about 4 fingers that contact the armature core. Those were burnt so I'm guess the inside of the esc combo is burnt as well. Some years now since you made this video and knowing how the motor is made I'm just wondering how the esc combo / motor help up to the higher voltage of the lipo. I'm considering the same batter mod, I've seen a few of these videos now but no follow up video's on run time or how it all held up to the higher voltage.

Yes I would, I had fun with it.

The JST plug you removed from the batter is a better plug than the smaller white connector I would have changed them the other direction.

i did this to my truck too and it worked great for the first battery. now it drives as slow as it did before i added the lipo and as weak. have you had this issue? I am very frustrated about this. I even tried a different battery and got the same results. the only thing i did different was plug in a low voltage cutoff sensor on it so i wouldnt kill my lipo. i drove it like that once and when i saw it was slow i unplugged it thinking the sensor is what was dragging it down. now it doesnt have the power anymore.

I haven't had that issue, but I was very careful with the wires- I found that usually was my problem.

mar-ko: I have since then ordered a new esc and i will see if that is the issue. I didnt do anything with my wires as far as crossing them since i have done this before with my larger batteries and know to keep the insulation on the wire till you are ready to solder. the esc should be in this week so we shall see what will happen.I am even using deans mini plugs (less space)

No, but you do if you want it to have low voltage.

the second i plugged my 2s in it let the smoke out and blew the mosfet on the board.
