    Making this video, I learned a lot as well. I always feel like I need to explain stuff in Japanese. But when I remember back when I was an exchange student, my host family explained stuff to me in Japanese. So as a teacher, I’ve been reconsidering how I make lessons. In the meantime, I do hope you are inspired to get out and talk it up!

    Japan is pretty famous for being full of humans that don’t speak English that well. The reason is not because said humans are genetically incapable. The reason is TEACHERS don’t know how to teach. A lot of English teachers you meet at like Nova don’t even speak a second language. In other words they don’t know how to learn a second language. Therefore they don’t know how to teach a second language. Then on the flip side you have a few teachers who ARE bilingual but a lot of them- me included- spend too much time explaining stuff in Japanese. How are you gonna think in English if you’re constantly thinking in Japanese? The most common problem is teachers slowing down their English to make it easier to understand. That is the very reason most people never pivot away from lessons. Lessons are easy but real world English is always hard. The only way to get used to the real English is to expose yourself to real English. That is why Arthur is number 1. By contrasting his style versus the other styles we can clearly see why his lesson is so good. He is talking like a REAL person. And if you wanna talk like a REAL person all you gotta do is MIMIC real people. Arthur and Summer are 2 people you should mimic for sure. Everyone else is debatable and I’d be open to discussing that further. But in the meantime, I’m not trying to be popular. That’s number 6 on this list. I’m trying to teach real english to any ONE person, and that person is you. Thanks for reading. Thanks for watching. And to really maximize your time here on KZread just search in English from now on. Make a list of hobbies like yoga, photography, meditation and just search those words and watch like 10 videos. Anytime there’s a word you don’t understand, do what I did and look it up in a dictionary 😉apps.apple.com/jp/app/aura-english-hd/id1527934446?l=en

    KY先輩いつもありがとうございます。 As far as English education goes, Mr. RUPA or Mr. NICK are my favorites. Especially RUPA-sensei's commentary on foreign films is very useful for intermediate level students. NICK-sensei's way of teaching English grammar is also very good. Mr. ARTHUR is also great, but the content is for advanced students who have a lot of difficulties. But the most interesting one is Mr. KY.

  • @kysennpai

    @kysennpai

    3 ай бұрын

    You’re too nice. I agree that Rupa has good deep dives of English uttered in movies AND I think the way he talks is unnecessary. Nick definitely has a great ability to explain the details AND I still am not sure why his accent sounds “off.” And finally Arthur is giving real English at a realistic speed. In my opinion, rupa and Nick are good lessons for real beginners. But anybody who has studied English for at the most 6 months needs to expose themselves to real native English ASAP. So you say Arthur’s lesson is “advanced” but I would argue it’s actually quite normal. And normal is something that any jr high school student can understand. Advanced to me would be anything that starts getting into science or is just super niche like construction techniques or conversation about philosophy or religion. I appreciate your comment and I wanna emphasize that what Arthur is doing is normal practical and realistic. 👍🏻

    返答ありがとうございます。 Definitely !100%! I cant agree more. As you know, one thing Japanese people struggle with in English is pronunciation. Among them, it is the pronunciation that they don't learn in school such as linking and contractions. This is the reason why they have a hard time because they cannot understand it. I listen to Western music and movies, but there are many scenes where what is said does not match what is written, even if I slow it down or look at the subtitles, compared to Japanese. (ex. The ex-lover part of T swift's blank space. Last part of Ariana Grande's 7 rings) So, I was just wondering if you could expound to us the scenes that even KY senpai cannot HEAR. That would be much appretiated. @@kysennpai

    You’re right. I have no knowledge of English nor do I know anything about learning a language in just 10 months. I just know I gotta speak Japanese if I wanna communicate normally with Japanese people. Which leads me to believe that teachers have been failing hard on teaching anybody anything of any use in reality. 違うか of course THERE ARE GREAT TEACHERS and I think it goes without saying, there are teachers that have never even learned a second language as well!
