6km high altitude gps failure! Panic 30km out 4km alt Crosswind mini long range Pitlab

This was not an ordinairy flight!
Very exciting to get a failing gps sensor at 30km out and 4km altitude!
This is the first time a Pitlab part failed on me. i wouldt blame Pitlab because the flightcontroller is around 6 or 7 years years old i believe and it made lots and lots of hours probably a 1000 hours or so.
Keep in mind this is al CGI so not real! This is not allowed to do in real live. We mixed some real shots with artificial shots.

Pardon my ignorance. How does one avoid a mid-air with an aircraft with people aboard.

I had this happen once at 6km out but 50km is a true brown underpants moment!! Glad you got it back

I'm glad it made it home! I had a GPS failure at 5 miles out, but fortunately, I knew the area well and didn't need it.

Good Job bringing it home after a failure. I had a similar incident recently losing a motor in flight, but since it's a twin made it back from 5km away. it happened at the worst moment, as I was pretty low alt, and motor with ESC became dislodged, and dangling from wires. also took out flap link on same side, so flap was in up position on the dead side. plane flew remarkably well.

the magnetometer failed with the GPS module. if you still had mag would it have helped you?

Its really a 4S 40k mAh battery?! Lipo or Li-ion? Link? Or is it a homebuilt pack?

Hi, What you you mean that this is CGI ?

Holy crap, this is really scary. It happened to me a few months ago when I triggered the return home feature and suddenly all the satellites disappeared. On that occasion, I was using iNav, and the plane initiated an emergency landing. I noticed the problem and I could assume the control again. After that, I never flew the plane without assistance again.

for some reason I thought your crosswind mini was a 6s setup. interesting that you're using a 4s setup , do you mind sharing your motor , prop and esc , with the rest of us ? thanks
