Whoa! That old girl pulls damn hard. Nice work.
This is raw, unfiltered, unadulterated, old school power. No traction control. No launch control. Just pure driving. Man and machine together laying it down.

Yo..for real the srt mopars are cool asf..but younger people don't understad..that a rud drives you ..not you drive it till you figure how to keep that brute under control..and that half-hearted pleasure or pain of strapping on that 2.5 ton machine and letting it rip....lol😂
Dude definitely knows how to launch.....and the car is a bad ass beast!
He left the line so hard he nearly pulled it outta first gear
I'm even envious of this guys helmet.
Man, does this bring back great memories!
Thing sounds beast !!!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 my favorite classic muscle cars are a ‘69 - ‘70 roadrunner, ‘69 - ‘70 charger rt with a 440 / 426 hemi , and ‘70 chevelle ss / el camino ss 454 big block
Still my favorite car and the MT CAR OF THE YEAR. my first pass in my 69 with a remanufactured 383 with 3.90 gears 4 speed was 13.92 second pass. The gears broke . Took them back to the guy who I got them from found some 4.56s went back the next Wednesday with vintage slicks out of the early 70s runnered up in the trophy nite. And to a best 12.92. Dont recall the mph. May of been in 105. Went back Saturday and ran in the heavy class for cash and won.. that remanufactured engine went to 12.66. Then dropped a valve. Got a fressened 440 from the guy that sold me the 3.90s thats endine tool me with 4.10 gears leaf springs a comp cam 485 lift to a best of 11.38 at 118. With a slightly better than stock A12 engine which it was but with out the 6 pac. Only had a tm7 and a 750 double pumper.. on stock heads. Dia valves.
Just like my 68. Shifting is like rowing a boat. Long throws. Mad respect for not grinding while gping into 3rd with that pistol grip.
What a great run! I have a 1970 Roadrunner with a 383. I would just be satisfied if I could get it to idle.
There is no substitute for driving a full sized powerful automobile.
As a Mopar fan...cool video, the helmet however, is freakin' epic!!!
I keep getting told that i will never get my 383 in the 12’s. This video is my inspiration. Wicked.
Nice! Rowing some gears with that pistol grip, hell yeah! 💪💯🇺🇸
AWESOME !! My FAVORITE car ! I went with my dad in 1969 to buy a new roadrunner, they have a special place in my heart !
Didn't even need to power shift lol. That thing is sick!!!
A feeling unlike any other...he nails it...the whoo at the end says he knows he nailed it....nice.
Man that thing rips!
Mopar rocks. My first car was a '66 Barracuda with 3-speed. Second was a '68 Dart with factory 4-speed -- loved that ride.

Horry chit. Looks like an absolute blast to drive. I love the distorted video and how it adds to the effect of riding shotgun. BEAST
My high school car, blue on blue 383 4 speed
regardless of any language barriers "Wooooooooooooh" is an understood "Fuck ya!"
That was f-ucking cool to watch.
Had one! 383 dependable engine. Went to Ram Chargers in Allen park Michigan. Bought a Nascar 61 413. 12.5.1 compression.
I’ve been to Italy seen beautiful I’ve seen and appreciate beautiful architecture, but these all dodges are beautiful
Hell yeah 383 had a 68 Roadrunner same thing 383 4 speed your car runs great man good job.
What a beautiful front seat ride love it
Damn, this is so badass
Amazing launch, great shifting to the end!

That Helmet adds at least an extra 200hp
If the coyote catches you... you're through.
spin me back down the years...
Beauty..my dad had a 1969 RR back in 73 383 , 4 spd , put a marine head on with 2 650 holley double pumper , hooker headers, air ride , Cammed , Big mickeys on back ..i rember as wide as would fit lol ... the Mean green machine ...would smoke his brother 68 gto an his cousin had super bee hemi that couldnt beat the 383 .
Glad he got it right the second time, the first time he just sat and spun
That's s man who knows how to shift!
Real drag racing!!!
Awesome Mopar, driving, and helmet.👍
I put one of those shifters in my '68 RR when I was a kid, LOL I remember it having a shift stroke about that long.

Your 383 must have not been running right cause a 383 magnum is a fast car with a lot of torque
Mama mia, that's some spicy car.
This guy likes to Party 🥳 big time!
Memories of my youth... The Dogleg shifters were cool...
I ran 12.00 in my street 428CJ engine w slicks of course. W the old heavy “MFG Re-called" cast slugs in it etc. Consistency is what wins races in most classes..
He beat on that car like it owed him money
with the big b-body pistol grip Hurst, you need to start moving toward second long before you clutch, as this fellow did....
Using a Mopar for what it was meant for!
Nice job!
Thats how you drive. most people these days don't know hot to drop there purse and bang gears. That was legendary whats the weight of the car and estimated hp that sounded like around 450 on motor and u were spinning up around 6000 or more

I think it sounded like 465 and timing sounds off by two degrees and just a hair rich at wide open throttle. Alas tire pressure could be lowered by .5 psi
Brutal!
Love your helmet. Flake and candy road runner
Respect!
Hell yea brother enjoy
Freakin sweet!!!
Awesome.!!!!
Awesome!
Damn 383 runnin 12sec
Gotta love it
Hes lit i love it
nothing like a short throw shifter
That helmet is sick
OH the sound of that screaming B BODY B ENGINE,takes me back to 1969 and my road tests at BILL GEORGE CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH,the b engine will jerk em right out of the hole ,more compression, more octane ,more spark, more everything ,they will amaze,my favorite engine from the lineup, simple no water thru the manifold, just one damn good MILL,MOPAR DIRECT CONNECTION FUN
nice pass!
That stock linkage had the longest 3rd gear throw !

That's because the shifter itself is pretty long especially with a gun handle grip
Thats how I left my high school parking lot every Friday afternoon in my 70 HEMI Charger💥 (I got witnesses to prove it!)

And that’s how you drive any Mopars ..
Damn Rite !
I’d like to give him a lesson on powershifting & he could pick up a couple 1/10ths . A true master wouldn’t let his foot off the gas when shifting ! Still very cool

Holy shit!
That was fooking mega I'd love to own one 😕 I want to that
Whooooo!!! he kept looking for the other guy. Ha ha ha!
Ahhhh B-body Pistol Grip......1st gear you can adjust radio....your hand is right there,, 2nd gear , if you do it right you can cop a feel of the person in the passenger seat, 3rd gear....fine tune the radio.......4th gear .......yeap get that 2nd cop a feel thing ..........
I just loved the way Mopar design their Shifter handle it is so fucking bitching
Givin it the berries right there
Apologies if this has been asked before, but do you have the specs of the engine and suspension of this car elsewhere please? I have a 383 4 speed Charger, but it's no where near this quick!

1:06 Veritasium on his way to correct someone after asking them about a concept in physics.
Sorry if I missed it - What rear end ratio currently? I have a TKO 600 in my GTX and seeing this really makes me want to go back to the A833.
@henrybourdon6712
2 жыл бұрын
8 months ago it was said 4:56 gears. Keep your TKO-600 because the 600 means it can handle 600 foot pounds of torque. That is more than the stock 833 can handle.
@BronzoMopar

@DFWJon

AND dropping down to the A833 you will lose 5th gear/overdrive and be turning a 1000 rpm’s or more at highway cruising speeds and just as Henry Bourdon said, you will be using a transmission that capable of handling LESS torque. I wouldn’t swap the tko-600 with an inferior product, if it were me, but ultimately it is your car and your money so you should most definitely do whatever you want to do. However, I was just giving my 2 cents and saying what I would, or wouldn’t, do. Good luck in your final decision!!!
So, does the red light next to tach indicate redline in that gear. If so, you nailed it, and the engine didn't blow up. Good for another 10yrs!
@BronzoMopar
2 жыл бұрын
The red light is the shift light @6450 rpm. Rev limiter @6700rpm
Is this the a833 with the 1/1 4th gear ratio?
My dad had a 69 with the 383 4spd said it was quick said it pulled the front wheels on launch. Is your car pulling the wheels it looks like it.
Do it again Stud
At least he's wearing a helmet
Yep. The old 1st gear, knuckles against the panel.. 2nd elbow into the seat, 3rd punch the lower dash panel, 4th elbow has a close call. I miss that

Would the 383 turn more rpms than the 440?
@lukepokrajac1057
Жыл бұрын
Yes...shorter stroke engine...3.375 stroke versus 3.75 in a 440. Short stroke engines tend to rev higher and handle high revs better.
I think this roadrunner is safe from the coyote
My dead 3:23 rear gave me 13s at 121 in a 1/4.
Might want to invest in a full faced helment
Don't lift your right foot just hit the clutch and shift. you'll hit 11.99 for sure.
