1967 Mustang convertible "Barn Find"
Bought from a family friend who finally decided she was not going to get around to restoring the car, as she always planned. It had sat nearly 40 years, covered up in a 150 year old barn in Los Altos CA.
She bought the car used from a lease company in Dec 68' for $1538. She said she loved it and went everywhere. The car was made in San Jose, sold new Nov 66', early 67" model. I paid $6K.
It had been repainted long ago, stock Brittany Blue color, otherwise it's all original. No rust , never crashed, always stored indoors in the bay area. I got it running, sounds perfect, have a lot of work to do to make it road worthy, but nothing major. I plan on a gas tank, brake shoes, wheel cylinders and master, carb kit, water pump and thermostat, radiator hoses, belts, shocks, carpet, fluids, filters, plugs, points and rotor. The top and tires were replaced when it was sitting. Not planning on any butchering (like a 390) or major restoration, it's an original 50 year old survivor.
